I feel like the overall goals of the clinic have shifted far toward making profit since selling to private equity quite a few years ago. Theyre just... way less helpful than they used to be. Have performed lipoma removal surgery on my dog twice and did an excellent job. For the most part, the guidance on recovery was decent, but not the most helpful. My feelings about this started last year I believe or the year before when I got a notice that my dog was due for a checkup, so I made the appointment. When I arrived they had asked me why we were in, and I said I had gotten the notice that my dog was ready for a checkup. They looked at his records and determined he was not actually do for anything, but the vet still proceeded to take his heart rate, pet him, and charge me for the visit which I thought was crazy. After that visit, things have been so confusing scheduling wise. I feel my animals now have several vet visits a year, just for check ups and shots - when check ups and shots could clearly be done at the same time - and I just can't keep track of them. I've switched vets for all my animals. A vet is too expensive a choice for them to kind of disrespect my wallet the way they have.

Fortunately, the diagnostic testing showed that everything was fine, and we just did preventative treatment. However, it is essential to note that the bill for the visit was expensive. If you are trying to budget your vet visit, there may be better places to go. However, since I have insurance for my dog, I usually go to locations that provide extra care. In conclusion, this clinic is a good option if you are looking for a veterinary clinic that provides thorough and attentive care for your pet. My cat had a surgical appointment scheduled for 8:00 AM. I arrived five minutes early at 7:55 AM and had to knock on the door to get the office staff's attention. The office manager opened the door, but instead of welcoming us, she glibly stated that the office did not open until 8:00 AM, and she was conducting a staff meeting. She then shut the door, locked it and disappeared into a back office. I was left to stand outside on the sidewalk with my stressed cat in a carrier until their meeting finally concluded at 8:04 AM. It was incredibly frustrating that the office staff would schedule a surgical appointment at a time they knew they could not or would not keep. Beyond the logistical failure, the lack of basic empathy and common courtesy was appalling. The decent, human thing to do would have been to let me wait inside the lobby with my cat while she finished her meeting. Leaving a client and a nervous pet locked out on the sidewalk is unacceptable. A veterinary office should be a place of empathy, but this Office Manager makes it a toxic environment. One of the ladies from the front desk came to greet us, told us there was a team meeting, and then closed the door on us rather than simply invite us into the sitting area while we wait three minutes. Instead, they acted entitled and bitter about our frustration, afterwards cancelling our appointment and surgery because they didn't like getting called out for being unprofessional. Literally all they had to do was open the door and let us wait it out instead of staring at us trying to wrangle the cat. We'll never take another animal here, or recommend this place.

Dr. Ryerson spent a lot of time helping my family find an appropriate diet for some of our older cats, and Dr. Clinebell was willing to make a housecall when my grandmother's cats needed to be put down and she wanted their last minutes to be at home. Bellson, to me, is a clinic that is out to help you better care for your animals, not to gouge your wallet.
