Stay away from these crooks.
My 3 year old daughter decided to pick up a rock and start drawing on my new Pathfinder. She basically scratched both doors on the passenger side quite badly.
I knew it was through the clear coat but couldn't tell if it was through the paint.
I went to Waterdown Collision and one of the guys came out to look. He gave me this big long speech on how there's no way to buff it out, they'll have to remove the door handles, the trim, sand it all, prime it and paint it. He said I was really lucky the car was new because otherwise he would have to paint the whole side and not just the doors. He said it would take three days.
He then said he would do a cash deal for $1,000. Yup, that's right, $1,000!
I asked him to clarify that there's no way it could be buffed. He said he would try to buff it if I want. It would take a couple of hours and a cash deal of $200.
I didn't feel right about all this so I drove away.
Next day I had a regular service appt. at the Nissan dealer. I asked them if they had a body shop and showed them the scratched area. They said they used a shop down the street.
They did the service and called me. They then took me to the side of the car and asked me what I thought... Scratches gone, completely. Good as new.
They had their clean up guy do a power buff on it with some polish and it came right out.
Best part, no charge.
