We came in the perfect time, while all the fall colors are putting on their best show. This park/ campground sits right along a huge lake, and the views are pretty incredible. It does cost a small bit to be able to enter the park, but there is plenty of places to stop and park and hang out once you get in. We only stayed for part of a day but you are able to fully camp there with plenty of amenities provided. Definitely a hidden place off the road, and West Point is not typically a town you accidentally pass through, but if you're ever in the area I'd highly recommend spending some time in nature with a visit here! It's sure to boost your mood!

I enjoyed listening to these beautiful waterfalls inside the Lakewood Park in Phenix City Alabama. This is a large park nestled in a well established neighborhood. I think the name of the neighborhood is the same as the park. I hate to leave this peaceful space and I can't wait to return soon.

A few years back there was flooding from a massive storm, there is a steel plate about 6 feet up on the inside of the bridge just to the right when you inter the bridge, it shows the height of the water table that engulfed the bridge. Children could play here for hours without getting bored…read more Town Creek has speciality areas for all ages and also includes things like an area for dodgeball, exercise stations, and music play. It is truly wonderful and worth a visit. The playground is filled with families and children of all ages. Everything is spaced out nicely with plenty of walkways and seating for parents and caregivers. Town Creek also has bathrooms and drinking fountains with easy and convenient parking. No skateboards, bicycles, or pets.

We asked them about parking (no fee) and were returning there for lunch later anyway. We then hiked up Rt 190 about 50 yards and found the trail crossing. We opted to do the one on the left - I think it was Bentley? The one on the right was the Pine Mountain trail. The trail was a nice hike through the woods but never more than 200 yards from a main road. We followed it to a junction and turned right so as to begin the loop back. Since it had taken longer than planned already, we hiked back along Route 190 instead of another trail. In total, it was about 2.1 miles and took us from 10:45 a.m. to 12:05 p.m.! The trail was hilly with a lot of rocks so the pace was slow. I enjoyed the hike, though.
