The original bridge was built in 1900 to carry traffic over Wacoochee Creek, and even though the structure you walk across today is a careful reconstruction, it keeps the proportions, timberwork, and quiet charm of the old one. Being able to walk the full span is genuinely cool, especially since it's obviously not open to vehicles, and the boards have that soft, weathered sound underfoot that makes a covered bridge feel alive. The park that now surrounds it was created after the bridge was relocated and rebuilt in 2007, giving the structure a new home that feels both respectful and welcoming. There's easy parking right by the entrance, and the short nature walk that loops around the creek adds a nice rhythm to the visit, especially if you like to linger and take in the details. The bridge sits low over the water, framed by trees, and the whole place has that quiet, tucked‑away atmosphere that makes you slow down without thinking about it. It's the kind of stop that doesn't take long but stays with you, a simple wooden span that carries more history and charm than its size suggests. Children could play here for hours without getting bored…read more Town Creek has speciality areas for all ages and also includes things like an area for dodgeball, exercise stations, and music play. It is truly wonderful and worth a visit. The playground is filled with families and children of all ages. Everything is spaced out nicely with plenty of walkways and seating for parents and caregivers. Town Creek also has bathrooms and drinking fountains with easy and convenient parking. No skateboards, bicycles, or pets.

We came in the perfect time, while all the fall colors are putting on their best show. This park/ campground sits right along a huge lake, and the views are pretty incredible. It does cost a small bit to be able to enter the park, but there is plenty of places to stop and park and hang out once you get in. We only stayed for part of a day but you are able to fully camp there with plenty of amenities provided. Definitely a hidden place off the road, and West Point is not typically a town you accidentally pass through, but if you're ever in the area I'd highly recommend spending some time in nature with a visit here! It's sure to boost your mood!
