What an adorable little shop! I do love me some Gus & Ruby!…read more We stopped in our first trip to Portsmouth - so glad we did! Adorable little shop with all the fun things... tea towels, cards, knick-knacks... all the fun stuff you want to see in an adorable little town such as Portmouth! The staff was so kind and helpful. We went in for a single card and I walked out almost $200 later with cards for all events the upcoming year. I'm so glad we had the opportunity to visit and find this little gem in the heart of Portsmouth. If you are looking for a great place to go visit and find some great souvenirs and greeting / sympathy / birthday cards - Gus & Ruby is the place for you!!! Go visit for me! Heck, I'm going back today to say hello for one last time in 2023! Go explore for yourself!

Me, not so much unless I'm in need of something, but I tagged along. So glad I did! This is a cute little store with lots of things to catch the eye. Not just the obvious--print services, cards, stationery, etc.--but also things like recyclable bags and other gifty items. I walked out of there with a small size (there was a large variety of bags for different uses) Baggu reclyclable bag I can fold up and pop into my purse for use when I need it. Handy for carrying leftovers from restaurants, quick trips to CVS/Walgreens or other places where you just want a couple of things. In fact it would have been handy for my trip to Gus & Ruby! I LOVE this shop! I'm a bit quirky and take great joy in sending out thoughtful, cheeky, and chic…read morecards; i.e., not your regular bought at the drugstore Hallmark cards. Scribe delivers on all accounts and even has an eclectic array of keepsakes and gifts; surely there is something there to please everyone. The staff are always a friendly bunch and usually remember repeat customers, which to me is a big plus. Somehow it's always easy to come back regularly when people remember you. Another plus (to me) is the great music that is always playing when I'm perusing cards - it lightens the mood and enables you to fully take in all of their cards. Be sure to check the first shelf of cards when you walk through the door because a) they are relevant to the holiday/season and b) they are usually quite funny! The store does custom cards/invitations and it appears that they have a wide array available to choose from. Other custom items are stamps and letterpresses available for order. All in all, if you need a funny card, gift, or stationary then Scribe has got you covered! Definitely a wonderful shop and the location serves to bolster it's awesomeness.

The shop has so many card options, no matter what the occasion and all of high quality! She also does custom orders for events! Not only does this shop have great card stock but many fun gifts. I walked away with bath salts and a bath bomb and a cute Christmas ornament. You could easily find so many gift options so this becomes your one stop shop!

This was my first time ever going into a Paper Store location. I have seen a few different…read morelocations just driving by them and have always wanted to go in but I never had the time. I finally had my chance this afternoon when I was up in New Hampshire running a couple of errands. It's funny, I always pictured this company to only sell things like stationary, gift wrap and greeting cards. But today I found out it is so much more than that. Along with the greeting cards and gift wrapping supplies I saw Vera Bradley handbags and some gifts, clothing, flip flops, ladies fashion scarves, bracelets and more. I got a good deal on a Vera Bradley handbag since they were having a sale that gave me 50% off their regular price of the handbag. It was a retired pattern and they were having a sale on retired patterns. Some of the items were 30% off, others were 50% off. I had about 3 different bags I was interested in but I wanted to see what they were charging for each one before I decided on the one I was going to buy. So a sales associate looked up the prices for me on all 3 bags. I decided on the medium priced bag and I must say it is a beautiful one with a very pretty pattern and plenty of room on the inside with pockets on both the inside and outside of the bag. When I went to pay for my item the sales clerk invited me to join their loyalty program and helped me to sign up for it. I also was very happy to receive a free hand sanitizer as a gift with my purchase. That was totally unexpected and was a very nice surprise. The store was very neatly kept up with well arranged shelves and displays. The store was clean and it was very pleasant and fun to shop there. I can't say enough nice things about this store. It is a great one.

I asked an employee at the register if they had NeeDoh, and she responded "No!" in a very rude tone. While I continued browsing, the same employee said "what!" to me in an unprofessional and disrespectful way, which made me feel uncomfortable. I asked for her name and she said "Natasha" (not sure if that was accurate). She was working at the register. Customer service like this is unacceptable. Very disappointing experience.
