Booked in March…read more Unprofessional outfit: boat we chartered was not available, but an on paper good alternative was offered. Then the price of the crew was increased. Excuse was that the person who we booked with in March was no longer with the company. Lot of work to redo all the work we had done in March to find the charter we wanted - anyone who has tried to book one knows it's much smoke and mirrors, the same boats are rented out by different outfitters, everything is a little different between each and it's hard to get a full picture of total cost, and to compare apples to apples and not something else. Document every conversation and detail of what you agreed upon with Sailaway (or any other company) or they'll change the game. Arrived in Key was as agreed upon. Boat reeked of sewage. Captain had been on the boat for ten minutes several days before our charter, that's it. Said it reeked then too, but didn't do anything about it. Captain had almost no contact with Sailaway, it was the first time they worked with them. Captain ended up calling marina engineer and it turned out that half of the boat had not been pumped out. Additionally, the captain's cabin bathroom was broken, and the toilet didn't flush. You can imagine. It all got fixed but it was a stinky hassle and we started our charter several hours late. Sailaway overcharged us in their electronic system and ghosted us upon repeated request to resolve. Jennifer, owner of the company, acted unprofessionally and winged it to provide a charter boat and an ok but inexperienced crew she had never met, nor taken the time to get to know. It came out all right by helping out on the fly, but Sailaway was disappointing and there was no communication with, nor support for the crew from them either. The situation would have been salvageable if Jennifer had responded to our emails and calls to resolve the issue and accept feedback as we asked her to do. But she didn't, which leaves us with a bad feeling about her and her company.

Being a "rookie driver", Jordan even came out to my boat to give great tips. The following day, I met Mike. Also very welcoming. I explained my concern over being new to boating and not wanting to destroy anyone's property. I was looking for an easier in, easier out slip and Mike helped me out tremendously! New slip with real peace of mind! Mike even offered to assist me in taking items from my car to the boat but Nabbs provides these nice carriers that simplifies the process. The Dockmaster Luke was very friendly and answered all my questions. Even though they didn't have a slip available for my 2015 Prestige 55 OS. I would recommend this marina to anyone, the floating docks and multiple bathrooms are a plus. Luke was very helpful and I couldn't have asked for a friendlier face when i walked in. The restaurant next door, "The Broken Oar" has great drinks at a great rate.

They are accommodating of schedules and do their best to make your experience great (and comfortable - breathing under water takes some adjusting!) The Annapolis location is especially great. There are regular social events, a great clubhouse, and incredible team to support everything. SailTime is remarkable at how quickly they address reported issues. Just yesterday I reported a few minor issues during my check off and they are already scheduled to be fixed tomorrow! Sailtime is really the best way to boat in my opinion. It's so nice to not have to worry about maintenance, winterizing, and all the other things that typically come with boat ownership. It's far cheaper than owning. Some things still could use improvement. Sailtime Plus, while extremely promising, isn't the most straightforward to use/book. I didn't hear back when I inquired about using it through the site. Building a better automated system for using SailTime Plus and checking availability at other locations would be awesome. I'd even plan trips around which locations had availability. There is one thing I would change if I ran SailTime. An additional charge pay-per-use option to have the boat prepped, stocked with sheets, refueled, docked, rinsed, and covers put back on. Not sure if there is enough interest in something like this to justify it but I'd definitely use and love it! Overall, I love my membership. I was worried I wouldn't feel like I got enough time on the boat but I don't feel like I've had any issues finding availability. I get plenty of use for my satisfaction. There are lots of days (especially weekdays) when the boat is completely unused. The other members are wonderful and take great care of the boat. I highly recommend joining!

Everyone was superb, professional, organized, and really went out of there way to make the entire 3 day / 2 night course such a great time. Capt. Gary was the best: a patient teacher, knowledgeable sailor, a kind, humorous soul, and really instilled fun and learning into the course. The 40' boat was clean, well-equipped, and sailed great. My crew mates were excellent company. Accommodations were very comfortable -- a great sailing vessel. Upon returning to port (after slogging through a dreary, cold, rainy last day), Tammy had prepared delicious Crab Bisque and cookies! What service! Can't say enough about the experience!

I will say something came up the day before my first selected date and they let me reschedule without penalty. But then it took a few more calls to rebook. Parking was a little confusing; parkmobile said you had to pay so we did ($8/day); didn't know if Kayak Annapolis customers had to or not. Aside from the parking and booking difficulty, we loved the tour. Just the right amount of history, paddling, and resting. We were lucky the day wasn't booked up so there were 4 of us total, and it was sunny and a little breezy too. They had dry sacs to put your belongings and tie to the kayak and water shoes if you forgot to bring shoes to get wet in. Megan did a great job, rehearsed corny jokes but kept it entertaining. They offered us juice, water and granola bars when we took a break across from the Naval Academy. I liked that we were able to go into the middle of downtown Annapolis. This is a true small local business, 100% just floating in the water, which is cool. Would recommend if you're in the area! The regular price isn't a bad deal either; or they rent kayaks hourly.

Audra & Howard are a great team, and they immediately make passengers feel at ease. Their instructions are clear, and they are very careful about safety. We had a blast! You can take your own pictures or get their photo package, which we did. It is so peaceful up there, drifting along. We had great views of the Bay Bridge, the towers at Greenbury Point, the Annapolis skyline, and all the way over to Kent Island. This is a great way to see everything. Give it a try.
