Replaced two watch batteries. Very good customer support. *Very* expensive, considering the work done.

I had the absolute worst customer experience of my entire life with this company -- particularly with two employees, Shaun and Myles. The company was formerly known as Analog Watch Co., and I previously reviewed them under that name. Since they've rebranded and changed their Google Maps listing, I'm reposting a summary of my original review. In short: avoid this store at all costs. The customer service is beyond horrific, and the product quality is poor -- despite the appealing design. I received one of their watches as a gift around 2017. It looked great and drew compliments at work and from friends. However, the movement kept failing. I contacted them for a repair. The first time, they replaced the watch instead of repairing it, contrary to my request. By the third issue, they started accusing me -- their customer -- of being a scammer reselling their watches. No explanation, just wild accusations. At the time, I was a full-time professional working in New York City, so their claims were not only baseless but deeply offensive. That's how it ended: no repair, no replacement -- just insults. They told me to get lost. Nearly a decade later I still can't believe that some people do business like this. It's a shame. Their designs are striking, but the movement is junk. And instead of taking responsibility or improving, they lash out at their customers. A sad story of a business that once had potential. Convenient and thorough watch battery ($26) replacement. Offered to do the work while I wait (20minutes) but I chose to go back next day. When I went to pick it up, the gentleman took my watch out of the secure bag and checked that everything was working before he gave it to me. Was flexible to have me pay when picking up the watch instead of paying in advance which I appreciated. Friendly, helpful, professional, thorough and quality work. I fully admit that these days I wear my Apple Watch 24/7/365 except for the few minutes each day when it's charging, but some events and outfits call for a proper OG watch for style. Tip: enter off the 17th street mall entrance halfway down the block, not the big corner entrance. They've lots of other watches and related gadgets for sale as well. They sent me the wrong item completely so I requested a return, they were prompt with return instructions which included me paying for postage and being reimbursed when the item returns to their warehouse. Several days later I notice a refund of about 85% of my purchase price. They said the glasses were crushed and that they were charging a restocking fee and would not refund for shipping as promised. They criticized the way it was packaged and said it was my fault when I put the glasses back in the exact same shipping material they sent it in. Mind blown. I asked for pictures of the broken glasses to verify the situation but they won't. Crooks. Again this all stemmed from them sending the complete wrong item to begin with!!!! So I lost about 35% of the purchase price.... Unreal. read more

Cheap Brands and expensive prices. Only brand worth considering is Hamilton and they only have about 20 watches. Their prices are the same as Macy's; full retail. Swiss Army watch band cost me $80. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I neglected to check Yelp - which is something I almost always do and I now see that the number of reviews that describe a similar situation to what happened to me is daunting. Normally I go to a lovely man named George who works at Creative Silver in the Gallery for all of my watch/jewelry needs, but I happened to be in Liberty Place so I figured I'd take care of my slow watch. I took my watch to "Watch Co" to have the battery changed - because the battery had caused the watch the slow down over the last few days. I paid $25 to change the battery because they said it was a 2 year guaranteed Swiss battery - "the only kind they use with Fossil." And claiming to be an "authorized Fossil dealer." When I got my watch back I didn't notice until I left the shop - but it continued to not work--and had in fact, stopped working completely. I returned it to the shop and they said it "must be a machinery issue" and that I would need to send it back to Fossil and that they wouldn't give me a refund for the battery they installed. I had a strange feeling when I first went into this place and when I read the Yelp reviews it all kind of checked out... I believe that they may have damaged my watch in replacing the battery and that's why it no longer works. The watch was at least moving before they replaced the battery - and after they handled it - it was completely dead. DO NOT PATRONIZE WATCH CO unless you are looking for someone to break your watch at a steep price! read more

Wish I would have done research before going to these people. I figured it was just a battery change, so any place could do it. Prior to going in, the watch worked perfectly fine. I get it back 1/2 hour later and she tells me the stem is broken and she got the time set, but I probably won't be able to set it anymore. WHAT?! It's a $600 Hamilton watch and she just flippantly said it wasn't her doing and asked me to pay for the battery. I only paid so to get a receipt as proof of doing business with them, and intend to follow up and collect from them once I find out how much it's going to cost for my watch to be repaired. read more

I sent my Eco-Drive Citizens watch to be repaired by the Watch Co, Philadelphia, PA in mid-February. The representative told me that the watch has to be sent out to the "lab," for a replacement Solar-Powered Battery Capacitor where I was charged $250.00. I understood the charges and fully accepted them. I know how great this watch works as I never had a problem with it over the past 10 years of traveling the world with it on my wrist. I received the watch back in early March but did not accept it as I noticed the date was set incorrectly. *A few days later, after day-light -savings-time, DLST, 3/12; I went back to the Watch Co, Philadelphia PA, inspected the watch and I once again declined to accept it. The discrepancy clearly was that the time and the date was not set up properly therefore the functionality of DLST is inoperable. The Solar Powered Battery Capacitor, power gauge reads, low (red) after the fact that they allegedly made the repair. Lastly, the second hand, skips a second every time it rotates around the watch. The Watch Co, Philadelphia PA, informed me that the watch will have to be sent back to the "lab" for repairs which would take another 3 to 6 weeks. The Watch Co, Philadelphia PA also mentioned to me that the "lab" my watch was originally sent to is an authorized dealer that Citizen has partnered with for retail, service and repairs. However, this second time around for additional repairs; setting the functionality of SECOND HAND, DLST, DATE, and TIME; my watch will have to be sent to Citizen HQ in Torrance, CA. After paying $250.00 plus the hassle of going back and forth to the Watch Co, Philadelphia PA asking questions about service, repair, and fees. Take my advice! Go somewhere else to have your watch fixed. I trusted this business to perform the proper repairs to my watch. The battery which cost $250.00 is not repaired and the watch overall doesn't function properly. When you ask Watch Co, Philadelphia, PA to send your watch to Citizens HQ on your behalf for repairs and service. They will charge you additional fees. You won't get a refund for repairs and service that they performed on your watch in their "lab." But they will gladly tell you that the watch is beyond repair and advise you to ship your watch to Citizen HQ, rather than admit they performed poor service and repair as well as provide you a full refund. *Normally the watch would automatically set itself to day-light savings time, DLST to the correct date plus when going through different time zones around the world you wouldn't have to manually change the time. read more

Sketchy place. Took a Movado watch here to get my battery replaced. Owner said that the cost of was going to be $60 dollars and that the movado authorized dealer would charge 120. Called BS on him and called the movado place. Said that it will cost $37.50 with tax. read more

Took four watches here to have bands replaced. Even though there's a huge display window advertisement for them on the second floor of the mall saying that they're a Swatch retailer, they don't carry Swatch bands. #2 (a Timex) would be a custom order for an exorbitant amount of money. #3 (a Swiss Army) would also be a custom order and be even more. Selection of bands for watch #4 was extremely limited, but found something that would work. Got a claim check for the watch and was told it would be about 20 minutes. Came back 20 minutes later and they hadn't started it yet. The guy doing the replacement was interrupted several times by other employees so that what should have been a five minute repair took more like 15. He handed the watch back to me and the band fell off because the pin wasn't properly installed. While they did fix it right away, the whole experience was bad and the price was high. Save yourself money and aggravation and go next door to Liberty Time. read more

DO NOT GO THERE. I failed by not reading the reviews ahead of time. That's my fault. Needless to say, I would give them ZERO stars if that was an option. I took my Citizen watch there to get the band fixed. They said it would cost $15 and would take about an hour. No problem. Sounded reasonable to me. After about an hour, I returned. The band was fixed. However, now I had DEEP gouges and other damages to the watch housing because of the tool they used. Of course they played dumb like they didn't cause the damage. Let me see ... I've been looking at this watch for the past 9 years (since I bought it and wear it daily) and they're going to question me on what damages are new? Absolutely terrible place. I spent a good amount of time looking around at the watches in the store, and the guy told me he was doing me a 'favor' by letting me look for 1/2 hour. DO NOT GO HERE! They are criminals and accuse you of lying! I originally went to a different jewelry store to have them replace the battery on my Tissot watch. That store did not do battery replacement and told me about this place or at least that they sold my watch. I do not know if they changed ownership between 2011 and 2012 but now they are awful. I went to this place and left my watch which retails for over $500 in their store, to have a simple battery replacement. Keep in mind they sell my watch here, which is why I felt comfortable going there without any real research, just a blind recommendation from a nearby jewelry store. They told me it would be 30 min, which was fine, and I went back to pick the watch up 30 min later. Everything was fine, or so I thought, so I paid and went back to work. I did not inspect the watch real close only to see that the time was right and that nothing really looked out of order. Keep in mind also the store is lit by the cases and really is not conducive to close inspection. I digress to say that I put the watch back on my wrist and left. Once back to work I took my watch off to inspect it more closely and this is when the problems started coming to light. I noticed a scratch across the back of the watch and under further inspection on other parts of the watch where, if the tool slipped it would strike. I could go into specific details however, suffice it to say that I have had this watch for almost 10 years without a scratch (minor use scuffing but never a scratch) and have had the battery replaced at least twice before with out issue. The back was scratched, the band was bent where the tool must have slipped into and I have yet to get an appraisal of the damage, but I am expecting it to be in the hundreds of dollars. With this inspection, I took the watch back to them to have them remedy the problem. I figured that maybe the woman who worked on my watch was new and that they would happily remedy the problem. Once in the store, the man who might be the owner/manager told me to come back the next day when the woman was working and we could discuss it then. I stated that I do not have the time for that, nor did I see what the point was. I asked for a refund and for them to repair the scratches. He initially refused to refund any money and stated that he would send the watch out to be fixed but it would take 4-5 WEEKS. Getting more perturbed, I told him that his unwillingness to remedy the problem and stand by his work did not instill confidence in him, his store, or his ability to fix my watch, since, his store is the one that scratched it up on a simple battery replacement. I demanded my money back since it was $40 and despite getting a battery, they handed me my watch back in a damaged condition. This is when he said that people like me come in all the time and say that their watch is damaged and that the store caused the damage when in this man's opinion they did not cause the damage. I replied that yes people with expensive watches are just lining up to have their very expensive watches damaged so they can get a $20 battery for free. After a few more grumblings he did ultimately refund my money while repeating that I cheated him out of a "Swiss battery". I left furious and with a damaged watch which prior to going to this store was obviously worn but did not have a single gouge on the back where they obviously put a tool to replace the battery. I do not know how this man stays in business and would hope that this review keeps everyone from going. Please save yourself the aggravation and money and go somewhere else. This place needs to go out of business and I may even help them by suing them for damages, depending on the price to get it fixed. Horrible business, disreputable people with clumsy and damaging workmanship. That should be criminal. read more

Between the two watches I needed a battery, band, and fitting adjustment. The prices were less than I would've guessed and, to seal the deal, the staff was super nice. To reiterate what everyone has said, DO NOT GO HERE. They charged me $35 to replace a battery which was "dead" when it had actually only become dislodged when I dropped it. I knew the battery was only dislodged because it was a new watch, but they charged me for a new battery anyway. On top of that, the stupid tool they used to take the battery off scratched the fuck out of the back of my new watch. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. read more

Great Place! I was looking to get my links removed at Macy's and they sent me here and I've been a loyal customer ever since. The service here is fantastic. The sales people helped me to pick out the perfect watches as birthday gifts. They are very knowledgeable about each of the watches they carry and their price points. It also helps that now that I've purchase all my watches from there, they remove the links for free. Purchase a Caravelle Watch from Watch Co on 10-12-2017. All watches are over $100.00. It is malfunctioning---not keeping time. The 2 of the "12" is dislodge and is revolving on the large dial. They would not take the watch back and give me a new one out of good customer service since I have had to watch for less then 60 days before it began to malfunction. Told them that isn't it possible that they sold me a defective watch and if I had purchased the watch yesterday and it started to malfunction would they take it back and he said no. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. First and last purchase at Watch Co. Caravelle is a Bulova watch and I will not buy another watch from. I will write a review on them shortly. read more

I have been a customer of Watch Co. for 10 years now, and I have to say this is one of the best stores there is.. Every time a watch in my collection stops working or needs any kind of repair I refuse to take it to any other jeweler. In fact I send friends and coworkers here all the time. The only words I can use to accurately describe this store with is quality. I have brought a countless number of watches here and they have always returned to me in perfect shape. Plus the employee's are knowledgeable and make you feel like a friend instead of just a customer. I think every store should be similar to this one in terms of service. Other jewelers and "watch repairmen" have frequently attempted to rip me off, replacing parts with cheap knockoffs that break (has happened to me quite a few times in Jeweler's Row). I have never had that problem, or any others, with this store. I even brought an antique Swiss Army watch (1930s) here that I thought was beyond repair, as a last hope. My daughter was four years old at the time and somehow got a hold of it and threw it down the sink at some point. Days later of me tearing apart my house to find it she admitted to it and when I found it caught in trap underneath, it had been all but ruined. The crystal was cracked, the numbers and hands were washed away, and the original leather band was ruined. I took it to here to see if they could restore it at all and they said they would send it to their technician to see if anything could be done. I got a call a few days later saying it would take around six weeks to acquire the original parts, which I didn't think would be possible to begin with considering how old the watch was. Six weeks later I got a call that my watch was done, and I returned to the store as soon as I hung up anxious to see my watch. I cried when I saw it. It looked identical to how it did when I first received it, if not better. I was beside myself to see the watch have gone from completely destroyed to seemingly brand new in the span of a few weeks. I have always been happy with the results of this store, and recommend anyone who needs a watch repaired to bring it here. read more
