Creative Silver - Watch Repair Near Me - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Hubby got 2 watches online and both were too big on his wrist. He was so mad bc it took weeks to receive them. Originally we was gonna take it to the mall but afraid they might charge us a hefty price tag. Went on Yelp and found Creative Silver on Chestnut Street. Creative Silver is located in a shop that consists of three other businesses. If you need electronics, accessories, watch repairs, and custom shirts, this will be the spot as they are all in this one shop. George, the owner of Creative Silver, noticed us immediately and gave us a quote to fix one of hubby's watch, it only cost $5. We were shocked bc we sure wasn't expecting five lol. We were very happy and it took within 5 minutes for him to complete. He couldn't shortened the other one bc the links on the watch are the ones that can't be changed. But he did suggest to change the strap from the business across from him. We got the band switch and he charged us $10. read more

I have been buying my silver from George since the early 90's. My wife and I are only silver people and even had our wedding rings made and engraved here in 2006. We no longer live on this coast but still don't buy silver from anywhere else. If this speaks to anything, then it should speak to the amazing craftsmanship and quality of this man's work. Thank you, George for so many great pieces and patient repairs! read more

Popped in here today after seeing the plethora of stellar reviews. I received a used watch from a neighbor via my local Buy Nothing group and within days it stopped working. I couldn't figure out how to open it to see if I needed to change the battery, so I googled and yelped around this guy seemed legit so I popped in while out running other errands. I accidentally went to the woman on the concourse level first and she couldn't figure out how to open it and sent me up to this guy. Within minutes he figured out it's actually a wind up watch and so the problem isn't the battery, just user error. Ha! No charge to find out that I'm silly. It would have been $8.50 if it was a battery issue, for reference. read more

Always fixes my jewelry and watches in no time at all (usually same day service if not done within 5-25 mins). And very affordable! Great service all around! read more

COME HERE!!! The owner is so honest and saved me a bunch of money that he could've easily charged for. He replaced the batteries in a couple watches and fixed a watch strap that snapped off. One of the watches didn't actually need a battery change, but just had to be out in the light to recharge. I had no idea! His personality and sense of humor is also great. I'll definitely be coming back for any watch/jewelry repairs. read more

I've had two pieces altered here and George did an amazing job and turnaround was so quick! He works closely with you to understand what you want and makes suggestions. Reasonably priced and he remembers and takes care of his customers. read more

Yelp reviews don't lie. George has been fixing jewelry for 33 years! He's super chill and provides professional level of customer service. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and George is really fun to talk to. If you ask, he thoroughly explains the details so you know what you're paying for. For mine, it was $5 for battery and $2 for pins. He fixed my watch as good as new. The band was completely detached from the case. If you're worried about getting ripped off, seriously, don't. I tried to give this map some tip, but didn't take any. The quote I got from Michael Kors was over $50. Definitely save your money and go to George!!! He puts his initials inside the watch. In case anything were to happen, you can go back and ask him to fix it again. *GoogleMaps directs you to 620 South Street, but make sure you go to 1113 Chestnut Street. There are other jewelers near my work, but I'm so happy I went out of my way to meet George. read more

I stopped in yesterday to have two wristwatches looked at by George. I went to his location based on all the Yelp reviews. The reviews posted on his page are spot on. George is such a nice guy, and turned replacing a watch battery into an awesome lunch break! George replaced the batteries in two watches for $10.80, and I was in and out of the store in less than 10 minutes. Thanks George! read more

Located inside the Fashion District shopping mall, Creative Silver is a place for repairing what other repair shops called unrepairable. George fixed a broken chain in a bracelet that is deeply meaningful to me in less than ten minutes for a nominal fee all while being the epitome of friendliness and professionalism. "That lady over there," George says, "she's been coming here since she was 15." I was a little doubtful bringing my 300 dollar wind-up hamilton watch I got as a graduation present to this place. It was a small kiosk in the Galleria mall -- how much would the owner know about fixing watches? But I trusted my Yelp instinct given all the positive reviews. I walk up to the kiosk and there's George, his hands covered in grease and wearing magnifying glasses to fix watches with. He deftly opens the wind-up watch and stares at it -- I think I had wound it too tight (a metaphor, i know). A-ha, he says. There's a bent spring somewhere. He takes a tiny tool and moves the spring back a little, shakes the watch, and smiles. The watch starts ticking again. "It's a good watch," he says. I offer to pay him, and he shakes his head. The least I could do, I told him, was write this review. He has a guy he can send wind up watches to if it ever breaks, but for now it looks like I can just let it unwind for a day, and keep the winds to 10 - 14 a day, maximum. Life lesson from George. read more

Can't believe I am giving a store in the gallery good reviews... But George is the man! I got a nice new automatic watch that needed to be resized and I didn't want to get ripped off by the stores on Jewelry Row. I search yelp and this place popped out right away. He is open to 7pm most days, is located near the 10th street side on the basement of the gallery. He was friendly, approachable, made jokes with me, and was really fast and efficient. When I think jeweler, I usually associate something negative like a used car sales man, but George is the opposite of that. I recommend him to all my friends, and would definitely go back to him again to get other jewelry/watch adjustments and maintenance issues. read more

George at Creative Silvers has been able to repair multiple watches for me that I've collected over the years. He really hooked it up and the turn around time was amazing. I went to get a new battery and he even fixed the band of my watch, all with a smile. I've never had any issues with receiving the correct parts for my jewelry. I've even taken some of my mothers items there to be cleaned and serviced for years. She was more than impressed with the turn around time and quality of the work. Took my watch in for a polish / cleaning, and while the owner refused to service the watch (it was sound so tight by someone else) he was so insanely polite and apologetic, and did a 5 minute service on the crystal at the very least. George was amazing and this place was a gem! So glad I found this place via Yelp! The watch battery replacement cost $5 and George helped me right away. I brought a few watches here - one needed a new battery and the other one was brand new but needed a few extra notches in the strap. The guy at the front (didn't get his name) was super skilled and had it done in a few minutes. The final bill? Around $15. Yes, for everthing. I came a second time because I needed one more notch put in the strap (I have baby wrists, what can I say) and that time he did it for free. This place is awesome and I will be coming back for sure. read more

There's no wonder why Creative Silver has a 5-Star rating. George is a genuinely nice guy who's an expert at what he does. The prices are very affordable and pretty standard. I've brought in a mid-range and a high-end watch at different times to get resized, and both times it only cost $5. He was done in less than 10 minutes both times, so there was no need to come back to pick up! I've also had the straps on a watch replaced. George did a great job, and again, he finished in a matter of minutes. read more

I told a colleague of mine that my watch battery was dead and also that I had a pearl ring that had broken. She recommended that I go to Creative Silver to get them both fixed, so I did. I walked in during my lunch hour. The man behind the watch counter immediately replaced my battery in my watch and George immediately re-glued my pearl to my ring setting right there in front of me. Both men were very friendly and helpful. I was in there for no more than 5 minutes and both of my problems were solved -- FOR ONLY $7! I couldn't believe how cheap it was, I was expecting more. I will 100% be back next time I need something fixed/replaced! read more

George was amazing! I broke part of the chain on a very sentimental necklace and was in a panic about getting it fixed quickly. I have never needed jewelry repaired before so I referenced yelp to find one and I couldn't be happier. Quick and friendly service. The man here, George, makes his inexpensive honest service his biggest selling point. I approached him with a fairly simple problem in my watch. After examining my watch, he took maybe a minute fixing it on the spot. When I asked him what the cost would be he looked at me and asked "You really think I should get paid for a minute of work? Come back when you have a real problem and I'll let you pay." I've experienced and heard some horror stories about all sorts of repair services. Come here and you'll never look for another watch repairman again. read more
