BUT, my husband and I recently took a trip to Paris and I also love pain aux raisins. To our delight, Cafe Bilboquet has those too, so my friend and I each had a small coffee and a pain aux raisins. The pastry was as good as any that my husband and I had in Paris! I've also had lunch here with a couple of other friends in recent months. They have a good variety of pretty authentic French sandwiches and some quiches, eggs, etc. Not inexpensive, but the food is top-notch. You order at the counter, then move up to the cashier, tell them what your order is and pay for it. If you're lucky, as we were around 9:45 this morning, you'll get one of the little round tables where you can sit and chat and relax; in good weather there are some tables outside as well; a lovely boulangerie or patisserie experience!

The barista was so pleasant even though I had a question or two; they have no sugar-free syrups but they do have skim milk. They also have fresh vegan cookies and packaged vegan pastries. We started with a bottle of the Alsace wine, which perfectly complemented our food and the Parisian vibe. I opted for the omelette with Gruyère which was delicious, although I found myself very full by the end, as it came with two sides. The fries were a must-have -- so crispy, salty & fresh. I'd recommend that at least one person at the table order them, but the portion is pretty generous. :) The service was nice, albeit a bit slow at times. However, the staff was friendly and the overall atmosphere is chill -- we weren't in a rush at all! Sitting at a booth in the back, we had the perfect atmosphere to relax and enjoy our meal, making for a lovely brunch with friends or family.

It was raining so the only option was to sit inside. Good thing that a couple of tables opened up as soon as my order was ready so I was able to sit right next to the door on comfy couch type seating and got my own tiny table. I loved the design, the French interior design and the chocolate brown walls, ight fixtures and wall art. I wasn't really able to enjoy myself as much as I thought as the place was crowded and you can hear everyone chitter chattering all at once and the music was very low. The cafe was busy and there were people constantly coming in and out so it felt cramped. I stayed about a half hour drinking my latte and my small poppy bagel with soaked salmon and cream cheese. The latte was decent- almost tasted like it was straight out of one of those machines. It was not memorable and quite frankly I won't be going back for it. The bagel was good quality and the Smoaks salmon and cream cheese wasn't anything new. The bagel was the best thing honestly. There was also a faint odor throughout the cafe that wasn't pleasant. Loved the interior decor but everything else was a miss. Sorry.
