I was told that "if I thought it was an emergency, to take him to the emergency clinic" down the road (Emergency Pet Clinic)..... I'm not a vet! I am very frustrated because I wanted continuity of care from his veterinarian and would expect them to have availability to see a patient urgently. As a healthcare provider myself (for humans), I definitely would have gone the extra mile and squeezed their patient in, especially based on the number of good reviews.

After two visits to the Emergency Pet Clinic on Hwy 105 the previous week, our kitty continued to worsen until it was evident she was not going to survive. Wishing to end her suffering, I contacted the Emergency Clinic to ask if someone could see her right away. They advised that I could bring her in but that I should be prepared to wait an hour or more in their reception area while they saw other animals. I didn't want to subject my sick and anxious kitty to the waiting room at the Emergency facility. This is when I contacted the Animal Hospital of Boone. The kind young man who took my call was so compassionate and told us to bring her in right away. They met us at the door and had a room cleared for us. A vet came in immediately after we got there, sedated our little kitty and administered the medication that ended her life. Her passing was so gentle and the people were so kind, I just can't thank them enough. This was just three days ago (May 31st) and I am still mourning the loss of my twenty year old kitty. Still, I know that someday I will be ready to adopt another pet. And when I do, these are the people I will intrust with her care.

He came back losing a lot of weight because he was nervous with so many dogs there and still hasn't shaken that freaked out look after being home. I don't think the care was bad for the dog, but the care for the human owner was abysmal. I have never been treated like this by anyone in the wonderful town of Blowing Rock. Her husband is friendly and sane. If you really must go here, deal with him. He understood why I was upset and was helpful when I rushed to pick my dog up immediately after an international flight (because of the tone of her voice mails that came in while I was on the plane). Totally baffled by the treatment I got and never going back. As the one leading the creation of a dog park here in BR I will be sure to let all the dog parents here in town know. And I have the whack job voicemails saved for emphasis. Scary and awful. Ruined the last leg of my trip because of worry.

I had taken my dog here several times in the past and I couldn't have asked for a better place for my dog to have stayed. If the last person's dog was nervous around other dogs how is the owner to blame for that? I don't know the owner on a personal level at all, I simply know her through the times I had dropped my beloved dog off there. And if she was having an off week or something, I am pretty sure that we all have had one of those. Whether someone is opening a dog park or not in Blowing Rock that does not mean they should use their contact power to try and destroy someone's business on an app like Yelp. So to spread some positivity... do not hesitate to take your four legged family member here. You will not be disappointed. The accommodations are above what you will find anywhere else (trust me I had tried them all) and my dog loved it so much that every time we would pull in the driveway she knew exactly where she was and was excited. This is probably my favorite dog park I've ever visited! It is huge, and the views are stunning…read more There is so much space for dogs to run and play. There are several different fenced in areas available for the dogs, technically a small dog area, big dog area, and (sort of unspoken rule) a play area for dogs who like to roughhouse more. Picnic tables, benches, and a gazebo exist. There are also poop stations and water buckets for the dogs to drink from (and some of them to splash in). The only downside about this park is it isn't free - membership is required for residents and guests alike (check the website for more info). That said, it's worth the cost to let your dog run free. Plus, this place is ran and operated by the local humane society. There's nothing funnier to me than seeing my dog emerge from the bottom of the hill and run all the way back up to see me at the top.

My dogs never had any cuts or problems with the service and enjoy their visits at salon.
