From the moment we walked in, it felt welcoming, and full of whimsy charm. One of my favorite things was that they had a wall dedicated to local authors, which I absolutely loved. Supporting local businesses and local creatives means a lot to me. They also had so many events happening for both adults and children, such a fun community centered space rather than just a bookstore. If you stop by, make sure to grab their summer bingo printable too. The staff was incredibly sweet, welcoming, and genuinely eager to help. They had a really great selection for both children and adults, so it felt like there was something for everyone. Another huge plus in my book was that they accept ESA, which is so helpful for families using those funds for educational materials along with pouring back into our community. She also shared that they have an outdoor patio space for event but due to summer temps it's usually more popular in the cooler months. Honestly, the only downside is that I wish I would've discovered this place sooner.

It was fun walking around looking at everything. We found a lot of neat books and a lot of older books, many of which were being sold for some pretty decent prices. We ended up picking up a few more things than we thought we would. I also really liked their board game section and it was cool they also sold DVDs,Cds, records and more. I've heard there are cats who roam the store, I saw their cat tower, but didn't spot any cats while I was there. Parts of the store seem semi-unfinished but it was still a cool spot.

Yes, I did take the $20, but I'm going to stick to eBay/Mercari for selling my books .

Among them, Affordable Framing in Tempe stood out by a mile, thanks to Kirtis, the owner. From the moment I walked in, Kirtis was incredibly knowledgeable yet personable with a sense of humor to match my own. He was honest and straightforward, taking the time to explain how the costs aligned with the steps needed to complete my project. His genuine interest in my portrait was evident, and it made the entire experience feel personalized and trustworthy. Not only was his quote lower than most of the other companies, but he also completed the project in half the time others had projected. The quality of the work exceeded my expectations, and the entire process was smooth and efficient. I already have several future framing projects in mind, and I know exactly where I'll be going -- directly to Affordable Framing. No more wasting time shopping around across Phoenix. The best work always comes from someone who takes the time to understand their customers and asks the right questions to ensure the scope of work matches their needs. I couldn't be happier with how this project turned out. It's now the centerpiece of my entryway, and everyone who visits is talking about it. I'm thrilled with the outcome and grateful for the exceptional service I received. I'm happy to share the completed piece below -- I'm still blown away!

They also have a wet darkroom and both a process and digital lab that you can rent out. I have taken a photoshop class here in the past and enjoyed getting to know the founder Alan Fitzgerald. This includes an opening night reception where you can meet the artist and chat with them about their work. It's a great way to learn about many of the local photographers here in the Valley and view their work. The annual "No Strangers" exhibit is one of my favorites to check out. They used to have a fun event called Phototapas where they would celebrate the art of photography during the month of February. If you want to check out some great photography work and avoid the hassle of a larger museum, Art Intersection is open throughout the week and is free to visit.
