This artists uses pyrography; an art technique using a burning tool to etch designs into wood. We spoke for several minutes about his techniques. Once he burns the wood, he then colors portions of the wood to enhance his design. Other techniques you will see are felting, Clay, painting, mixed media and jewelry. It reminded me I have never written a review. Well, let me tell you something about myself. I adore books. I could never go 100 percent digital. In fact, I rarely use an apparatus for reading. I love the smell, feel, divine touch of a great book in my hand. I could spend my entire life, every day visiting books stores at author visits. Author meet and greets are my happy place. I am secretly envious of these people who put words down on paper and make them come to life. I might be quick witted with the tongue but lack the talent with the pen. Sooooooo, I bow down to them. Gardner's Book Service has been good to me and our community over the years. Many people might not be familiar with them since they are more a book service than a book store. They really are the best bunch of folks! Here you will find: knowledgeable staff, great teacher in-service classes, author visits, contests at times, a great grant program generously provided by Mr. Parks in memorial to his wonderful wife Barbara, and of course, books, books, and more books. The magazine in itself is great…read more I signed up for a one-year subscription in November, and the check was deposited in December. I got nothing by February so I reached out. They told me i'll get the February issue by the end of the month. I reached out again early March, and they told me they'll send me the March issue. Nothing. I reached out again just now, and they said i should receive the April issue. I talked to 3 different people, and they kept pushing back the first shipment by a month. Who knows if i'll even get the April issue; it seems to me they're saying whatever to make me 'happy', but they're not actually activating my subscription. I'm not sure what's happening in the magazine department. The check was deposited 3 months ago and i'm still waiting for the first magazine. That's not OK.

It was once located in the University Center (UCENT) Building and is now located on the northeast corner of the new law school building. I enjoy browsing the many Sun Devil items from State 48 shirts to books to gifts for others to fancy button-down shirts and polos for me. They honor discounts for alumni and employees. I visited the store recently just after the start of the new semester, and they even had a few items up for sale. The staff are helpful and friendly, and there is plenty for everyone as the store is a good size with all sorts of potential gift items for others or yourself. Paid parking is available in lots or in meters just around the area where the store is. It is open Mondays through Thursdays from 9 AM to 4:30 PM and Fridays from 9 AM to 4 PM. It is closed Saturdays and Sundays. There are several different areas within the store from the bookstore in the back to the general campus store throughout the rest of the store. There is also an active store online, where you can sign up for e-mails and get 10% off today by going to https://www.bkstr.com/arizonastatestore. Every now and then, there are clearance sales or employee or alumni appreciation sales including discounts on Apple educator prices each year. Two years ago, I recall a promotion where many products were 75% or more off in a grand clearance, which I've only seen happen once every so many years. I highly recommend any Sun Devil student, faculty, staff, alumni, or fan in general to visit this store at some point!
