I would do zero stars if that was an option. I think they call it Waste Pro because they are a Waste of your time to work with. They are a complete joke and only have business because of a large contract with the area and that is why they still exist with yet another 1 start review added. No other company would last, and any other company would care, but I doubt they do. I don't even know where to start, terrible service on every angle. First no pick up, then no trash cans and no pick up and then.... yet more. I didn't leave a review for all the previously mentioned issues. Would use any other option, but there isn't really any unless I want to haul my garbage to the dump myself. Thanks Waste Pro, for nothing! read more

I have been calling for over a week every day to have them pick up my recycle can that they missed. They have rescheduled it every day with no reason why it is rescheduled. Don't waste your money for the unreliable service. read more

Trash collectors and customer service workers are good people. But the management of this company is seriously flawed. The company "misplaced" my address and stopped sending bills to my billing address. Then cut off my service without notice. This was after three years of timely payments. Also I was on a wait list for eight months for bear proof containers and could never get in touch with anyone or a return phone call so that I could purchase the containers. I signed up for a "buyback" that would allow me to trade in my current bear proof containers for the required waste Pro containers but was just informed that the program ended. Now I have to spend $600 on Waste Pro bear proof containers. This company really needs to get their act together. If there was an alternative, I would certainly do business with them instead. read more

Late, inconsistent, and rude. WastePro does not keep it's schedule ever, has mixed my trash and recycling, and has a rule where if you've bungeed your recycling from the bears. The website is glitchy and the customer service is poor. I'm driving across town now because WastePro is the worst. Not better than nothing, cheap for a reason. read more

If there were negative numbers I would give them a -5 STARS!!!!!!! You can't get touch with them!!! They will not call you back!!! Trash service was switched to different days do to labor issues, then changed Go anywhere but Waste Pro. I would be willing to pay $25.00 more for reliable service! They are the ABSOLUTE Worse company to work with! jdredinger@charter.net read more

When are these incompetent people going to lose their contract. Take a look at the reviews. I have to call every two weeks to get them to take the recyclables read more

Waste Pro took over from our prior waste/trash removal company. I live in Mecklenburg County NC, outside of the city limits, so I have had contracted waste removal for 20 years in this house. Waste Pro, like most service companies, now prefer customers pay online. I do pay other bills online (electric, water, mobile phone, credit card, etc.), but will not pay Waste Pro online. Why? Because they charge a $2.25 fee to pay online. A stamp is cheaper than that. No other company that I deal with charges any fee to pay online. Companies seem to prefer people pay online, as it eliminates delays in receiving their payments, losses due to bounced checks, etc. But, apparently, Waste Pro wants to charge you, even though customers are making things much easier for them by paying online. Ridiculous!!! read more

Very inconsistent service. Extremely disappointed. They can't even post their hours of operation during holidays accurately on their website. According to website....service as usual on Memorial Day.....yet no one arrives. Shocker. read more

Waste pro came and emptied my trash yesterday then took my garbage cans. even the one that wasn't a waste pro can. They told me I owed 31 dollars from last year! And needed to pay the 31 dollars and the current fee for this cycle and a replacement fee. Funny because my account is active with 0.00 balance. Worst customer service experience ever and I've been a customer for three years. read more

I have had Waste Pro for five weeks now. Not once has my trash been picked up on time. I have not received the bins that I payed for over a month ago. In order to get my trash picked up, I need to wait on hold for about 20 minutes at a time, in 5 minute increments because their phone hangs up on you after that time. They do not have an answering machine to leave messages after hours either. I have talked to people at their national and local offices, their regional dispatcher and not one person has cared enough to tell me why I am not being serviced or to fix the problem. I paid them over $70 for service and have received $4 in CREDIT as a refund. Do NOT use Waste Pro, they are neither reliable nor responsive. Go with McMinn instead if you're in their service area. read more

After a challenging start using Waste Pro upon moving to NC in 2021, the service has now been consitently good in 2022 and I would now recommend. Not sure if there was a management change but Kudos to this service Company and especially Cody & Orville in truck #1241 read more

They take advantage of their customers because they are the only provider in the area. Service is inconsistent, late, or may never come. Drivers decide what they want to take. Look elsewhere if you can. read more

They often leave trash on the ground and are not currently recycling because their truck is broken and cannot be fixed?! It would have been nice if Waste Pro had sent us this information so that we could have found and alternative way to recycle things for the past few weeks. Instead, my husband happened to be home and saw them dumping our recycling into the regular garbage truck and had to ask them what was going on. This is a difficult company to deal with and they don't communicate well with their clients. read more

Customer service is poor to non-existent. Pick ups are routinely missed. They are out of stock on trash and recycling bins. The problem Is that there is no alternative to using them. read more

I am moving and need a big trash dumpster. Called four times this past week. Was promised a call back with quote still nothing. This has got to be the worst company. They overcharged you for regular trash pick up but never try to get more business. I know those those dumpsters are expensive to rent I can not believe that they would not call. When I move I hope I don't have to use them read more

This is a terrible company. Their voice mail is always full. We changed trash companies and after emailing them multiple times to come pick up their trash bin, several months of waiting for them to pick up their trash bin, my husband finally loaded it into the back of his truck and took it back to them. When we dropped it off, my husband went inside to tell them we'd returned it to them. He said there was no "thank you for returning it", "can I help you unload it" - nothing. When we were leaving, the weirdo that 'worked' there came out in his pajama pants - I guess to make sure my husband put the trash bin in the right place. They are truly awful. There are a lot of hard-working trash collection companies out there. Why would ANYONE choose these losers. read more

Zero stars would be fitting since zero service is what I got from Waste Pro Asheville. Signed up for residential trash service and they never picked it up. Called to complain and they said it would be picked up next day, of course it wasn't. Basically they will pickup when they feel like it, if they feel like it. Do yourself a favor and don't do business with Waste Pro. Oh and when you cancel it takes 30 days for the refund to be posted. Now I'm off to take two weeks worth of trash that's been sitting in the hot sun to the dump. read more

My Review of WastePro (Service?) is about the same as Ritchie W's with emphasis on what the Bears do to the Trash Cans, plus my trash would not have been picked up for the second week in a row if I didn't actually watch the WastePro truck this time. They Backed down my road and ignored my trash can that I had already opened for them. They then returned along my road driving Forward this time and AGAIN ignored the trash can that I had opened for them. I managed to stop them before they drove past my place by actually standing in front of their truck and stopping them. I told them they needed to back up and get my trash or they weren't going anywhere. I got blank stares and an argument. I again told them to back up and get my trash or else they needed to get out of the truck and start walking home, because the truck was not getting past me. Eventually, they did back up to get my trash and I let them proceed. Buncombe county residents don't need this kind of grief from the WastePro Company read more

They do not return phone calls when you leave a message which seems the only way since the system hangs up after awhile. I have seen them on many occasions throw my bag of recyclables in with the garbage. I have not had a problem with them not showing up. read more

This company is just horrible to deal with. I closed my account and moved. 4 or 5 months later I received a bill from them that, since I had moved already, made it to a collections place then to me. I went ahead and paid it out of fear and tried to contact them to say I no longer live there and no one would call me back. I wrote a letter with the payment stating I wasn't at the address anymore. Here it is 2019 and yet again they sent me another damn bill. I don't know what their deal is but I be damned if I am paying them again. It feels like harassment. If you can avoid them I would at all costs. Looking at this page, I'm not the only one. read more

Didn't pick up trash. Called yesterday and was told they'd pick it up. They didn't. Called today abd was told "yeah, we aren't going to be able to pick it up until the ne t collection day. We can refund you for last week but then we won't pick up any trash that won't fit in the can. If you want you can pile up trash beside it and we will collect it this week." Meanwhile I pay extra for a bear cart so I'm supposed to pile trash out so it can be scattered everywhere by animals? How can a company simply not do their job and take no responsibility? Maybe refund us for last week and pick up our trash next pick up because it's your fault?! Maybe come today and pick up trash 4 days late because I paid to have it picked up last week!?! Two weeks of great smelling trash in 85 degree summer. I hate you waste pro. I don't understand how there's not another option in buncombe county. read more

Why is it so hard to have a blue recycle bin with a blue top? Why mix everyone up? Why force us to take a larger can and raise the price through the roof? If you try to call them all you hear is a recording of them bragging about themselves. Might as well listen to Trump. read more

Worse costumer service ever! I have tried for 3 months at least to solve my situation to no avail. I have even contacted their Florida headquarters. There is only an answering machine that answers and cuts you off eventually, every time. The biggest problem is they are the only ones so I can't just go elsewhere. read more

Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. That summarizes it. They also have reviews on Google unlike anything I've ever seen. 280 reviews. 250 of them are ONE star. 250. 250. They lie. They leave your trash. They don't pick it up. They screw up your account. Horrible. read more

Just cancelled their trash service today. Every month, they would miss at least 1 trash pickup for a week. This month, the missed 3 trash pickups in a row. They are absolutely horrible. After the second week in a row of them not picking up trash, I tried calling them and sat on hold for about 30 minutes waiting to for someone to speak with. I was finally forced into leaving a voicemail and no one every called me back. read more

What's the deal with WastePro?? They send me notice that I must choose a can or a large one will be chosen for me. I have called a number of times, only to receive a recording saying all their reps are busy on the phones. I can believe that because I bet all of AVL is as disappointed in the current situation. Please, can someone who does get to speak with a live person, tell them we don't have all day to wait on hold, we have other responsibilities, like jobs ! read more

Called about a bear trash can after ordering online, wanted to know what the procedure would be for the old one, and the timeline. Was auto-told all operators were with other customers and to wait, did so for around 10 minutes, then got a voicemail that said to leave a message? Is there anyone actually there? Reading the other reviews, there seems to be little hope I'll get a call back. Not the best customer service by a long shot. read more

Paid Waste Pro $25 to haul away a hot water heater. On collection day I spoke to the drive when I saw he was not taking it and he said his truck was too full. I called Waste Pro and they were supposed to come out the next day, Friday. When they didn't come by afternoon I called again and all the person would say is they sent it to dispatch. At 4:30 they hadn't come so I called back and again all they would say is it was sent to dispatch. After the hot water heater set at the end of my driveway all weekend I borrowed a truck and hauled it away myself. Save yourself some time and hassle and do it yourself. Don't bother attempting to pay Waste Pro for this service. read more

I just signed up for WastePro 3 weeks ago with my first pick up on November 9th. So far the trash pickup service is unreliable. They did not pick up my first day. I had to call at the end of the day to schedule a missed pick up. They told me they would send someone on the next day. That did not happen. I called again and of course with November 11th being a holiday, they could not pick up until Saturday. My bag of trash sat by the road in front of my home for 3 days. Then this week, pickup day on Wednesday and of course, no pick up. Again, trash bag sitting by the road for the third day now. And will hopefully be picked up on Saturday. And the critters decided to get in the trash last night and I had to go out in 25 degree weather picking up my garbage tossed about in the yard. They apparently are making the garbage and recycle bins by hand one at a time as we were told that we would not be able to get one for 4-6 weeks so we have to put our trash in certain colored bags to be picked up. For $33+ a month and only 4 pickups, you would think they could pick up my trash on the day they said. I have called and voiced my concern to which you are met with a simple I'm sorry. Companies just do not have the respect for customers and basic business since to treat customers well. With such a new service, I should not have had to call 4 times in 2 weeks to have my garbage picked up. read more

My normal day of pick up is on Fridays, because of the Christmas holiday it got moved to Saturday the 26th along with my recycle. It's now Monday the 28th and no trash or recycle picked up. I called Waste Pro to ask about why and after being on hold for 20 minutes they told me it would be picked up on Saturday the 2nd, no reason just cause. While I was talking to them I asked if I could get a bigger recycle can as when we were first given a choice I picked the smaller one to meet my needs but that was when they did it weekly not every other week so now I need a bigger one. They said it would cost me $75 to swap them out, I can't afford that as I am on a fixed income. I told the lady when we were offered the choices we weren't told they were going to change to every other week or I would have picked a bigger one, no response just silence. We were also told not to use the blue bags anymore but I see them all the time on the curb, guess I will have to resort to the same thing. read more

3 weeks passed and no delivery of our trash and recycling cans call several times same old answer your on the list. Did I mention that it's a 36 dollar delivery charge also which I was not made aware of nevermind I will come and pickup well the recycle can was very small can I get a bigger can? Yes I was told it would cost $75 to get a bigger recycle can ok let me get this straight I pay you a monthly service the cans are not mine I had to pick them up and you want $75 more dollars so I ask what do I do with my excess recyclables throw in trash since you made very clear no blue overflow recycle bags will be picked up she smiled and nodded makes me think lack of a better word organized crime? read more

Once again, Waste Pro has failed to pickup our neighborhood recycling. Pickup day was scheduled for Monday. Today is Wednesday and still no pickup. Waste Pro has continued to fail to respond to multiple phone calls, numerous MISSED PICKUP action forms and emails. They don't deserve the contract for Buncombe County and certainly don't deserve to continue to be in business. read more

I moved into my new home over three weeks ago. I set up service with them prior to moving in. They have yet to pick up our trash or recycling, despite almost a dozen calls to the local office and one to corporate! They don't even come when they say they are coming for a missed pick up. I even asked to speak to a manager, but they never called me back. My garage now smells like a garbage dump with 3+ week old trash in there. I'm at my wits end! They pick up all my neighbors trash but don't come up the rest of the road to get ours! Thanks to Buncombe county they are the only option we have! This is ridiculous! read more

Awful service should receive zero starts if I could. Choose another provider- Maybins or Lions Club - they must be better than this company. No respect for consumers. Have sent emails to the top of their food chain with no response. They have missed 5 weeks of pick up in the last 3 months. Can't leave garbage out for them indefinately with wildlife. Won't refund money on a missed pickup if they come 6 days late! read more

Customer service is terrible and I never seem to get a call back when promised. On several occasions my trash hasn't been picked up for weeks and now it's been 2 months since recycling has been emptied. I called, got a very rude lady on the phone and it's the same thing as always "call back if it doesn't get picked up". It STILL has not been picked up but I don't feel like dealing with customer service! I feel like a credit is due but the amount of calls and aggravation that comes with this. I'm not even calling to resolve. read more

Been trying since February (it is May 25th) to get a recycling bin for our residence. (We only have a trash bin.) I have been told over, and over, and over again, that we are "on top of this list" to get one and it never shows up even though we are paying for service. At best this company is shady and unreliable; at worst it is a straight up scam. If my problem isn't resolved soon I'll be canceling service and actively recommending folks avoid this company. read more

For just about the entire month of January, my trash sat at the end of my drive. I called over and over to get it picked up and was told day after day that it would be the next day, it never happened. When I do get a person they are rude when I ask for a manager they never get one. This is the only company for trash pickup in Asheville. They said my trash can would be at my place at the end of December, didn't come then the middle of January but never came, then the end of January, and it is not here yet. This is the worst company I've ever had to deal with in the three states and about 10 cities I've lived in my 50 years. I'm giving them 1 star because I have to to get this posted but they don't even earn1. read more

I selected this company for my trash service and had to cancel them after the 4th Monday went by and I still hadn't received their trash bin. They claim they were on back order and could not give me an anticipated date of when it would arrive. They did offer as a courtesy to pick up my trash from a bin that was from another provider left by the previous owner, but someone's incompetence cause them to take both the trash bin along with the trash. I have a critter in my house because of their lack of urgency and professionalism. I called another company on a Tuesday with trash pickup on Fridays. My bins were delivered that Friday. I cancelled the service and haven't received my refund yet. I just called to inquire and the lady said it's possible that my refund could have been mailed. She said mail goes out on Fridays only, but hadn't a definitive answer on my refund. I asked to speak to someone who would know and she said there wasn't anyone I could speak to. I asked what is the procedure in place for issuing refunds because it seems to me if a person paid with a credit card, the money should go back to the card. She said there isn't a procedure. Her last words to me is that I should call back if I hadn't received my refund in another two weeks. What place has anyone heard of taking 30 days to provide a refund? This trash business is trash. Stay away. read more

I received a mailer yesterday advising all Waste Pro customers (Arden, NC) would need to select the size of waste container they want by a certain deadline, so I go online to my husband's account to do so, but there is nothing in there anywhere asking what size container we want. So, then I call Waste Pro about 8:15 a.m., and it goes straight to voicemail, though they are open 8a-5p. A half hour later I try again and this time I am put on hold (with music) for around 5 minutes, then a mechanical voice says the customer service agent is not available and do I want to leave a voicemail? This happens repeatedly over the next 4 hours. I leave voicemails with no answer and no one ever picks up the phone. read more
