Work was supposed to start in 2 weeks but it didn't start for over 10 months. The balance was due, as stated in contract, net upon completion Yet he wanted progress payments. When I told him this was contrary to the contract terms, he just screamed louder. His behavior at my home was unbalanced to the point of seeming altered or impaired at best. If he responds to this, he will blame me and anyone else he can think of rather than taking accountability. At this point, I expect nothing less from him. He will never take accountability for his actions. Right now, I have a very expensive UV light that is not installed and a pond that has leaked since he installed 8 months ago. He told me he would reinstall the light this past spring and repair the leak. Not only did he not keep this promise but now he will not return my calls to remedy this situation. I am going to have to hire someone to fix my pond and then take legal action to get compensated for their labor. While this is an ordeal, I will not let him get away with this shabby and unethical conduct. I have all the legal ammunition I need to prevail. It's too bad that one must deal with such erratic, unethical behavior because this man is talented at what he does but his behavior makes doing business with him out of the question. You have 2 very accurate descriptions of his behavior in these reviews. Don't be suckered into doing business with him. Troy, you had a chance to make this right but you did nothing. They have refused to refund my money on two occasions now. This has led to me having to get the NC Attorneys office involved, which Greenscapes has failed to send communication back on. Appalling business practices, lies, and deceit are all I have faced with this company. They deserve less than one star, but that is unfortunately the lowest selection to give on this. Based on other responses I've seen to their poor ratings, I fully expect to get gaslighted for this feedback. I can assure you that I am a real person and have been forced to go to these extremes in order to get my money back for their failure to deliver. I only needed a couple boards for a small project and that required moving several huge stacks of lumber with the forklift. No problem. Feeling kinda bad that the $20 I paid for the board barely covered the time and fuel spent on that forklift, to add insult to injury, I found out I had locked my keys in my car. No problem. When I asked if I could borrow a coat hanger or piece of wire, both people working there mobilized in the quest to Bring My Keys Home. They went above and beyond in helping me out with several tools, and never made me feel like a nuisance, even though most folks would have grumbled. These folks are great.
