# Incredible Post-Hurricane Transformation! I had to see the renovated Lowe's for myself after hearing about the rebuild, and I'm absolutely blown away by the transformation. This store looks completely brand new and is spotlessly clean throughout. You can tell they put serious effort into making this location better than ever. While they did rearrange the layout from the previous store, the Lowe's mobile app made navigation a breeze. I was able to quickly locate everything on my shopping list without wandering around confused. The new floor plan actually seems more logical once you get oriented. What really impressed me was the staff - they were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to assist me in finding specific items. It's clear they're proud of their rebuilt store and want customers to have a positive experience. This Lowe's has truly risen from the ashes of Hurricane Helene stronger than before. customer service is no longer available at tunnel road. If you call them you get a computer. if you ask for an associate they say they will connect you. Phone rings for 5 minutes and then hangs up. Repeated this for about 20 minutes and then gave up. This is an ongoing problem for them, not just one time thing. No one answers the phones. Ashville south lowes (Arden) not worh the trip. Go to ACE or Home Depot. Internet order for pick-up. They did not have the order ready even after giving them 2 extra days. Then it took them 4 hours to get my order together and loaded. (4 HOURS) THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER. MORE PROOF. Need more material so go back could not find anyone to help me pull 2x8x16 pressure treated lumber. Ge to check out and ask for help loading to my trailer. 20 minutes later go back in ask again for loading help. Finally got my trailer loaded. When I went in to complained about their lack of care or value for their customers. I was informed by the young lady that I should do my purchases in the morning. (This was at 7PM and they close at 10pm. If I wasn't in Ashville helping family out I would have sent all $6000.00 back to them and gone to ACE. I would put in a negative star rating if I could- Ordered a few tile from this location to complete a larger order at another Lowes location ( that did not have the full count I needed). First inconvenience, but I was willing to try to make it work. Then I was informed that this small order was ready for pick up from this South Asheville location with a locker code to use. I was unable to get there til the next morning, but while at work last evening I was informed by a text that read "Thank you for picking up your order"already- by whom I do not know. SO Ive paid for tile, I did not receive. and there is ZERO customer service to remedy this error. I'm not sitting any longer on hold for 25 minutes to tell them their TECH is garbage and their locker system sucks, only to be hung up on. I cancelled the large order from the other store, after they rerouted the availability to yet another store ( about 2.5 hours away). Lowes is literally cratering. Their reliance on handheld gadgets in store because they cant keep staffing levels of informed people, and their reliance on online ordering without genuine customer service is an insurmountable combination of inadequacy and negligence. I'd love to tell the owner- Tech is not a Magic Bullet- especially when it is done poorly. If you can get beyond the robot auto answering to customer service, they answer and put you on hold and never return. I'm talking over 30 mins on hold. No one comes back to say sorry to keep you waiting...nothing. This has happened numerous times when calling !! Due to hurricane Helene I was not able to get my repairs done in the 90 day return window. I have the receipt for the materials I purchased and tried to return. The return clerk was nice and I understand his position....he was covering a break. I requested to speak with a manager with 2 associates...they said there was no manager in the store. I asked for a managers contact info which they weren't able to provide. Since the work is now completed I'm stuck with $100.00 of materials I can't return...can't use and can't move. The money I've spent in that store over the past 10 years is huge. The lack of any flexibility in their policy is basically a shit out of luck policy. absolutely NOT the place to go to for home improvement Buyer's BEWARE! I purchased cabinets and countertops for my 8'x6' kitchen back in 2024 august They made MULTIPLE measuring mistakes, had the wrong cabinets made, and had to make them again...and even then, there were problems...I was out of my home for 8 MONTHS while they tried to get things right. And the interesting thing was when I was purchasing the cabinets and countertops, the people who worked at Lowes, cautioned me NOT to use their installers! (kinda like a headsup to protect me) That's laughable considering the problems started right when the orders were taken! Its hard to believe this store with the service they provide is still in existence. Sadly there is NO ONE who can help. You cannot speak to someone who can fix or help your situation...They told me after NUMEROUS calls for help that once the job was completed, they could then address compensating me for all thte trouble and inconvenience. Clean store, poor staff and organization. Great parking lot and location- spacious and clean. Clean store and pretty organized inside. Structurally struggling in terms of help/assistance. Needed two keys cut and I prefer to work with people so I skipped the minute key they have (foreshadowing here). The first employee I asked cut me off and said "yeah I'll be back in a minute. I gotta give some other people bad news. Hahaha". Me was never to be seen again. The second employee I asked was nice but distracted. He kept looking at people and texting. I told him three times that I wanted one of one key and three of another. They were even marked. He confirmed all three times. Flash foreword to me leaving for the holidays and trying out the keys (thank goodness) to discover he switched them and I had to leave my only house key for the sitter. And then come home and pay for more keys. I definitely did not get them done at lows promise that. Next time I'd use the minute key machine. Or go to ace. I was catching an Uber and I didn't think a 12 foot threshold would fit. They will cut lumber but not an 1 inch threshold into 3 pieces. 2 cuts to help me out. When I entered the store to return some items I mentioned my ongoing cancer treatment and the returns clerk urged me to take dog dewormer. Is she a part-time oncologist? She didn't know the difference between viruses and parasites. She told me a celebrity on the internet recommended the treatment. I tried not to laugh in her face. If I could give zero stars I would. Had a delivery of a refrigerator scheduled for September 14th. Called on the morning of the 14th and was told that Lowes (not their XPS or whatever) would be delivering between 8 and 12. Called again at 11:30 and was told it was still out for delivery. Called at 2 and was told it was still out for delivery. Called at 4:20 and was told that they actually didn't have it, but might have it in by the 23rd of September. The delivery service department at Lowes is a joke. They never answer their phone. Pro tip, just go to customer service and start the conversation by telling them NOT to transfer you to delivery. By the way, I've gone to the store and spoken to several supervisors, all of whom tell me I'd get a call back. No one ever calls back. Zero people at this store seem to care and take responsibility for customer service. If you can't pick it off the shelf yourself and buy it, don't go there. This is the best Lowe's ever. Just moved down from NJ and have been here three times this week. Each time we interacted with incredibly helpful and knowledgeable staff. John (who looks just like JK Simmons) was a gem. We hunted him down three times at 6:15 in the early morning hours and he was intelligent and took us to every item we needed. There seems to be staff all over the store greeting you and inquiring if you need help. This store is so clean and organized. We love going here. read more

I renovated two homes using only Lowe's supplies. patient right attention to make a return with some items that were three months or a little more since the purchase. Only part of the items were l lumber, and everything item to the return was in good condition I know for a fact the manager had the ability to accept or not accepted, but he refused to accept it, because their new system had problems, locating them on the receipt even though there was proof they were purchased on my Lowe's card. after spending as much money as I have at Lowe's, being a veteran, they pretend to care about, and only shopping at Lowe's and never shopping at Home Depot, I will now give The Home Depot that is a little bit closer I try. The other employees at the front desk recognized me and now I'm in there every single week The Manager had zero grace and no understanding of customer loyalty or creating a stronger customer store relationship. Lowe's is awful. I ordered some custom blinds on Black Friday and received a ship date of December 9th. On December 10th, I called customer service to see why my blinds hadn't shipped and I was told they were back ordered and my new shop date was December 30th. Plumbing Department: Amazing customer service, they helped us find everything we needed in order to fix our toilets, sinks, washers, and dishwasher for our new house. Two men, one a little older than the other helped us and were very kind and funny. I really appreciate the service here. Loading: The man who was going to help us load was trying to load a shower surround all on his own, I offered him help but instead he went and got two other men to help him. I'm not exactly sure why three men were needed to load something that my twelve year old sister and I had loaded on our own the day before but they were nice. Fairly poor. Lowes Corporate is foolish. They keep shifting product placement on the floor to relocate the product to where they can not be found. Less than 1 in 3 employees knows where a product is to be found. This includes management and the in house digitized registry. The employees are really nice and alert. Most are aware of the breakdown. My suggestion to corporate, stop hiring your friends and family or people you are attracted to. Hire people based on their abilities, not their charisma, unless it is a sufficiently applicable requisite to the position, i.e. Customer service. The prices are far better at Lowes than at Ace hardware. But at Ace, never new anybody who couldn't direct me exactly to where an item was located. read more

I bought a Whirlpool dryer on a Thursday and paid my handyman for pick-up and delivery because Lowes didn't bother to mention that they had free delivery. Didn't matter as it turns out because the dryer was defective anyway and didn't work. So I ordered an upgrade, a Maytag and requested delivery this time. Despite calling their delivery dept. TWICE in the morning for an approximate delivery time window, I didn't get a call until late afternoon, then a second call around 5:00 pm reporting that they had driven the delivery truck into a ditch and would be further delayed. They arrived at dinner time, 6:30 pm, installed the new dryer and then had to haul IT (Maytag) away as well, as it also was defective!! I will never set foot in Lowes again..Would you??? read more

Terrible experience. I ordered a new dishwasher and stove and set up to have them delivered. When I called to confirm everything, I realized that installation also needed to be set up so we moved everything back to accommodate for installing the dishwasher. Because of the holidays, it pushed back the delivery by two weeks--fine. The day before delivery day, I called and confirmed that installation was scheduled. Come delivery day, the appliances arrive but there's no installation (apparently it's a separate team) and the delivery guys can't/won't haul away the dishwasher, which I had already paid for them to do. I called to talk to someone at the store and literally called a dozen times. The phone just rings and rings and rings. When I did finally get through, no one knew what to do and they told me that I would have to schedule AGAIN to have it installed. I gave up and scheduled installation with a third party. But--plot twist--the stove is broken and needs to be replaced. I'm currently fifteen minutes into letting the phone ring, hoping that someone will eventually pick up. read more

Wish I had a five-star experience. I ordered five things online. They were delivered in three packages so I had to go to the store three times. Two times, my packages took a long time to be located. If your order # isn't handy, you're screwed. We guessed a while with my name and phone number and found one of my orders. One due on June 24 is still not here on July 2. I really don't look forward to going through the maze again. I have all my information. Let's see if they can find my order and how long it will take. I used to love the customer service here all over the store. This is my second order experience that has been lacking. Where did customer service go exactly? STAY AWAY......A Lowe's delivery employee dropped my washing machine onto main water line and flooded my laundry room when attempting to deliver brand new washer and dryer...Now they are only willing to pay for damages, not for time missed from work to accommodate ServePro to dry my house, will not reimburse time and money to laundromat, time missed from work to obtain estimates for repairs and will not reimburse my time to be home for actual repairs to my home. A lot of the employees here are complete jerks. I was snubbed for 20 minutes while waiting for someone to come assist me in kitchen wares. I worked retail for almost 20 years--if you see someone that looks interested in what you're selling, you approach them & ask if you can help them with anything. Finally, I approached the clerk to ask for assistance. He acted like I'd totally and completely inconvenienced his smartphone session. He replied with, "I'll be right with you." Then he walked away & didn't come back. I waited for at least another 20 minutes. I asked other clerks if they could assist me & was met with "This isn't my department" responses. Well I finally got irritated and left. Screw you Lowe's! You just lost a $2,500 refrigerator sale because your customer service really, REALLY blows. While I was paying for my $2 drain plug, I made sure to tell the cashier that the sale could've been for $2,498 more if someone had just taken the time to help me. He just smirked at me & said, "Oh yea, I'll be sure to tell someone," in a very sarcastic tone. The service is TERRIBLE! Firstly, when I call I routinely have to reselect operator 5 or 6 times before anyone picks up the phone. Secondly, my experience buying kitchen cabinets and counter top was worse than terrible. Besides not calling back when they say they will, they didn't follow up either with the subcontractors and/or vendors or us when asked. We repeatedly had to call the ladies in the department to find out where things were in the process. The problem was they were never there and/or one wasn't there and couldn't cover for the other and/or had not followed up on the process. Indeed, we had to repeatedly call to manage the process ourselves and ensure things got done. They have no sense of urgency and don't attempt to provide good customer service. I had to engaged two different managers at different times to get things moving. Moreover, one of the managers tried to say they can't help what the subcontract does they can only call them and see what they can do. I had to remind them that 1) I paid Lowes, not the subcontractor, for the service ahead of time and 2) Lowes sends the subcontractor a lot of business and you tell me you don't have any leverage over the subcontractor to get them to do what they committed to do?! In addition, we ordered appliances and as for the dishwasher we ordered, I phoned in to say I was going to come by and pick it up instead of getting it delivered. After talking with an associate to let them know it had arrived at the store weeks ago yet I'll be there in an hour to pick it up -- no one had bothered to bring it to the front of the store. After I arrived at the store, I had to wait for them to locate a certified fork lift operator who could move it from a top shelf and someone else to bring it up front -- despite calling ahead of time to let them know I was coming. As a result of our experiences, we will never leverage Lowes for any of our home projects again. read more

What a night mare of a business! I bought a new washer and dryer a few months ago--not what I wanted but had to take what they had. The appliances were improperly installed. I told the installers that the dryer vent would not vent, but he brushed me off and left knocking down part of a rock wall. Later I found that they had gouged the entry door. Because the appliances were incorrectly installed initially, they became worse and worse. After attempting to correct the problem by phone--transfers and hang ups--i tried again today. After two hours on the phone--transfers and disconnects, I am in the store. No one will help! One poor woman is trying-- no answers on phone, transfers from one department to the next. Tried to buy a grill for THREE weeks. Never assembled It! Chose another, waited for a hour to have it loaded into my car. Is this place trying to go out of business. After years of being a happy customer, I will no longer do business with Lowe's. read more
