The guy counting the bottles was making so much racket smashing each one into a bin it was horrible. Obviously they don't like what they do and they sure make you know. I took some bottles in today and a fellow who looked like a customer tried to shove his way by the cart I was using. He wasn't wearing anything that said he was staff so I thought he was just trying to skip to the front of the line. I told him to hold on a second because the guy behind the counter was in the process of wheeling my cart behind the counter and the idiot got nasty. Absolutely NO customer service and when I complained to the person running the market she didn't say anything. I will NEVER spend any money at their market and most definitely never use the bottle depot again.

I showed up, there was a lineup and I figured I'd have to wait 20-30 minutes to get my bottles processed. What my big annoyance was that they took people out of order. While I ended up waiting 30 minutes, some people got through in 5 minutes or less. They essentially cherry picked the lineup for "easy" ones. They made me wait longer because of some perceived efficiency on their part. It's not efficient if I don't come back is it? Getting mad for having to wait a long time in a lineup is one thing, getting mad because you are being treated unfairly is another. When I showed up, I was in a cheery mood. When I left, I was somewhat angry to the point of considering not ever returning as a matter of principle. This place is great when it's quiet, awful when it isn't. The only reason they maintain a second star is that they still sort the bottles for you.

You forego the usual blue trays and lay out your returns directly on the table in their respective designated spots. From there they load your returns onto mini conveyor belts, which empty out into specific bins. The staff are friendly and helpful. The place is kept relatively clean.

I have been witness to some people who have questioned the count and the staff have always adressed the concern with politeness and fairness. On multiple occasions, drivers would look for someone to open the gate for them, which is completely unacceptable for a professional service provider. Even after we cancelled our contract, the issues continued. It was a nightmare trying to get their bins removed, and nearly a month later, they still haven't returned our access fobs. Absolutely unreliable and unprofessional. I would not recommend Waste Management to anyone.

So one of our members phonedand asked for them to come and replace the worn out wheel. Instead they came and removed all the wheels. The driver dropped the bin in a perfect spot for them. But not so good for us if we need to move it. Now, the bottom of the bin is rusting out and one bottom corner is now broken open. Recently we have experienced a RAT invasion around our property. Now we know why. The RATS are crawling into the bin through the bottom. I have seen rats in the bin, plus we now know that the little pieces of garbage around the bottom of the bin is from the RATS.

The facility is very modern and surprisingly clean, compared to the Vancouver Transfer Station. As mentioned in the name, they also accept piles of other stuff such as yard clippings, glass, wood, and metal. Pretty much a one stop shop, so people actually have a way to get rid of stuff instead of using random fields, gutters, and bushes like in Vancouver.
