Really good sandwich, had the pork with sharp cheddar and peppers. Bread was very fresh, sandwich was juicy but bread held up well without falling apart. Thought it might need some condiments, I was wrong. The place was empty when I went in, but service was quick. Only caveat is they only take cash. read more

I love finding little food treasures tucked into neighborhoods. I recently moved to Phoenixville and found this place the day I moved in. I had the roast pork and spinach sandwich that day and couldn't stop saying Yum. The small is big enough for leftovers. Today I went again and had a prime rib sandwich--excellent! I think I like it better than the pork, although it is pretty close. He brings in pierogies and kielbasa from Port Richmond in Philly. It is nice to have a source for fresh pierogies in my neighborhood. I highly recommend checking this place out--the owner is a nice local guy too. read more

We had Wasko's cater our department Pre-Thanksgiving Party. Delish!!!!!!! We had the hot roast beef and the roast pork. They were both out of this world. We also had the green bean bake and scalloped potatoes. They tasted just like home. Also, the owner was so helpful and accommodating. We will definitely order from Wasko's again. read more

Again the best roast pork sandwich. It's so good, it is the the only thing I order from there. Get the long hot peppers with it!

This has become my new favorite place for a quick meal! Like the owner says, he's got me "hooked!" Reminds me of the old school delis from New York. After moving here, I drive by this store twice a day two and from work and never stopped in. Finally decided to give it a whirl one afternoon and walked in. I ordered a prime rib sub with sharp provolone. Even after my mile walk back in the cold, when I got it home it was still hot! I loved it! I haven't tried anything else besides that so far (once I get something I LOVE, I tend to eat that until I'm sick of it!) They have daily specials, which always sound good, and I think I'll try one next time I stop in. The owner is very friendly! He always talks to me while I wait for my sub (or zep/hoagie as you Philly natives refer to them). I come in nearly once a week - will continue to do so! read more

Ordered 3 large subs: 2 Ultimate Italians & 1 Sweet Italian Sausage. They were some of the best subs I've ever had! read more

Best. Sandwich. In Phoenixville!! No frills shop. All the frills are in the sandwiches. Pork and prime rib are amazing. Forget all the sub par pizza shops and do yourself a favor and stop in- you will not regret it. read more

Had a phenomenal prime rib sandwich with provolone and horseradish from Wasko's today. Also had his homemade potato salad which was very good. read more

Delicious! Very tender, juicy and flavorful pork. Loaded with sharp provolone. Wished they served broccoli rabe but got long hots. Roll was tasty -- just wished it held up a little better with all the juice. I'll be eating there again. Look forward to the Prime Rib next..... read more

This stop is awesome! Had the Homemade Meatball with provolone. It was so good I sent an email to Diner's Drive-in's and Dives! The world needs to know about this spot!!! The rave reviews are the Pork roast, roasted peppers and provolone sandwich... Look out! Sounds Delicious!!! Get you some!!! read more

Tried a sandwich for the first time recently after all the raves about the pork sandwich. So naturally, I chose the roast pork sandwich. The sandwich was simple - roast pork and sharp provolone. The bread was fresh and soft. The ratio of filling to bread was balanced correctly. The bread is often the "meat" of the sandwich and the fillings take a back seat at so many sandwich shops - NOT at this one. The pork was flavorful, moist and contrasted wonderfully with the tangy zip of the sharp provolone. This little place should be one of those places featured in the likes of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives hosted by Guy Fieri - nothing fancy, hidden hole-in-the wall type place - but packs a wallop of a sandwich. Filled cabbage is homemade (right at the shop) and fresh pierogies are offered as well as specials. Since my first sandwich several weeks ago, I patroned again! Great spot to grab a great sandwich and some good homemade specials. The price is very reasonable - actually a bit on the lower price end compared to other places - its a steal! Recommend trying this little joint - nothing fancy - just good! read more

Wasko's in Phoenixville has the best sandwiches I have ever had in my life. I have had their Roast Pork with provolone and broccoli rabe, and the Prime Rib Wrangler with horseradish and hot peppers. Meats and cheese are awesome, very moist and flavorful...Every time I have been here the food is delicious. Sandwiches are about 6-9 bucks It is Cash Only which can be a drawback but doesn't matter to me. I like to help out small businesses and use cash anyway. Also, the inside is a bit small, and there's not much of a seating or waiting area. Best for take out. read more

Excellent hot pork sandwiches. He make combinations I've never had before. Every time I'm in town I bring some sandwiches home for the family. 2 thumbs up! read more

Best roast pork in Frazer/Malvern/Phoenixville area, I mean, it's not that far from my work in Malvern, but I have no problem driving 20 minutes down route 29 for one. They are the absolute best around! Tell you the truth, I think they are better than most of the reviewed best in philadelphia! read more

The only reason I am giving them just two stars is because the place is so dirty and unkept. I was in there today and got the pork with broccoli rabe and provolone and it was excellent. However, it is difficult to get past the clutter and crap laying all over the place. Newspapers, trash, even dumb bells. I guess they guy likes to lift weights when he is not busy. But just laying there on the floor? I don't know what kind of business they do, but I would guess that if they cleaned up and made the place look nicer inside, their business would double. Also, the guy behind the counter could be a little nicer. Just very cold and sort of on the grumpy side. A little smile goes a long way. read more

This place is disgusting! There is trash everywhere, flies on everything, and your shoes stick to the floor. It even smells dirty. The person running the counter was watching TV and eating when I came in and was sorely in need of a clean apron. He used a dirty knife to cut my sandwich in half. The sandwich itself was not good. Wawa is higher quality than this. read more

Mike T's Review was our impetus to try Wasko's. We've been looking for a good Zep. Other reviews also convinced us to try the Roast Pork with Hot Peppers and Provolone. BOTH sandwiches were EXCELLENT. Go there. NOW. We'll be back. read more

I can't add anything else to what all the others have said here. The sandwiches are really delicious. The place has the ambiance of inside of a goats stomach but it is clean and the food is great. Its pretty much takeout only. read more

the food was Very good me & my wife both enjoyed our sandwich. the only downfall of the place is it seems a bit dirty. if it were cleaned up i def. would have rated it higher read more

Best Zeps in town. The guy who makes them is really a nice guy .Really ,the zeps are great.

Roast pork, sharp prov and hots - quality ingredients resulting in a great sandwich

This place makes the best Pork sandwiches ever. Atmosphere is non-existent, but I don't care. The food is great.

Wasko's is almost what you could call a hole in the wall place. Tremendous sandwiches and consistent. If you like what you order it will be there the next time and as good. I am a regular and can't find another place even close to the quality and consistency in the area. My favorite is the Pork Wangler with extra onions. read more

Very generic...ordered a sandwich, had to listen to negative conversationton about local buisness organizations I knew nothing about. Only wanted a sandwich!!!! read more

Waskos has done three parties for me so far- I'll never use any other. The food was perfect, the selection is all you can ask for- my crowd is laid back and the pork sandwiches with potato salad is the perfect answer to a football party or a Sunday at the pool. He has done a 80th B- day party, a first holy communion and a 8 yr old's party. Great food- perfect service- all you can ask for at an affordable price. read more

Wasko's has the best roast pork sandwiches around by a long shot. Everything else is amazing too. The owner is a great guy and you can tell he is very proud to serve such excellent food. Well I'm a guy that grew up outside of Norristown, PA and loved the local sandwiches. Zeps, Roast Pork, etc. are a favorite of mine. I moved to northern Virginia ten years ago and always search for restaurants that can replicate the tastes that I grew up with. Well needless to say I cant find any worth mentioning. While back in PA visiting, I was jones-ing for a roast pork sandwich. Since the area has changed quite a bit, I used YELP and it was all good. I found Wasko's on Gay Street. What a pleasant surprise. Nothing fancy and no ambiance to speak of, but the food was great. When you walked in the door you could smell all the tell tale aromas of a real hometown sandwich shop. The bread, the pork, sauce, peppers, etc. I looked at the wall menu and ordered a roast pork with provolone and roasted long hot peppers. The sandwich could rival anything you could find in Norristown, or South Philly for that matter. The roll was perfect (always from Conshy) and the pork was done just right with perfect seasoning. It was so good that I also tried a zep which was also excellent. I would be willing to take any friend/critic to Wasko's and spring for lunch if they thought that the food was anything less than excellent. Again, this is coming from a guy who grew up loving Italian food. If you think that Jerry's or Subway make great sandwiches don't bother visiting. But if you are looking for an old family style sandwich shop at a great value then stop in... You wont be disappointed! read more
