She was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient, but what really stood out was her focus on building a relationship rather than simply getting the job done. That level of customer service is rare these days. I wouldn't hesitate to return and work with Nikki again. She made the entire experience easy and enjoyable. Thank you, Nikki!

How does one review a good local branch of a terrible national company?…read more Last time I refinanced my home mortgage, the original lender sold the loan -- to Wells Fargo. (No, we didn't choose them.) It was fine for quite a few years, but with the latest escrow adjustment my automatic payment didn't get adjusted correctly, and my payment went short by the difference between the old payment and the new. What did the national company do? Call with a courtesy reminder? No -- I got a call from collections threatening foreclosure! Wife and I rushed to this branch to straighten things out. The teller called over a manager (I think) to work with us. The national didn't provide any mechanism for branches to help; the branch banker had to phone the national through same phone tree customers are stuck with, and was stuck on hold just like a customer. Eventually the national answered and gave the branch person numbers to fix the account for the back balance and the new monthly payment. All good. For one month. National changed the escrow again, and we got another pay-or-else call. Back to the branch, and the same person helped again, waiting on hold again, and getting numbers. We deposited the shortfall and paid the next month. Then another escrow letter! This time we had overpaid. A check was attached. Last week, another pay-or-else call from national. No panic this time. We're used to it. Today I cashed the check at this branch, phoned national myself, and deposited the difference. Employees were helpful. So, a three-star "A-OK" for the branch. They're good, but I like my regular bank better. National Wells Fargo? My experience is a two-star "not so good" -- but at least they haven't scammed me like the big scandal that was in the news. I think I'll refinance again, just to get away from Wells Fargo national.

After more than 14 years banking with Bank of America and Merrill Lynch as Diamond-tier clients, we…read moreare seriously considering transferring every single account elsewhere following my husband's appalling experience at this Redmond branch. He visited to deposit a legitimate business cashier's check and was refused service. However, the most disturbing part of this encounter was the branch manager's conduct. Rather than demonstrating professionalism, resolving the situation, or treating a customer with basic dignity, the manager made an already unacceptable experience significantly worse. What was particularly revealing was how certain employees' tones and attitudes noticeably shifted once they accessed our accounts and realized the extent of our financial relationship with the bank. Respect should never depend on someone's account balance, appearance, or perceived financial status. Every customer deserves fair, consistent, and professional treatment from the moment they walk through the door. This experience raised serious concerns about discriminatory treatment and the leadership standards at this branch. When a single encounter is enough to make longtime Diamond-tier clients reconsider a 14-year banking relationship, that speaks volumes. We expect regional and executive leadership to review this incident, particularly the branch manager's conduct. Bank of America, loyalty takes years to earn and moments to destroy. ALL of your customers deserve better, regardless of how much money they have.

What a great experience I had today at WaFd Bank. (Yes a little confusing still because I think…read morethey are in the middle of a name change. The original company name was Washington Federal.) I went into the branch today to open a new checking account. Their checking account has some really cool features I haven't seen at other banks. With their Green checking account you get discount movie tickets, coupons for travel, a credit check service and best of all mobile phone insurance. I used to have AT&T mobile phone insurance that costs $15 a month. With WaFd Bank's green checking account I can get that for $7 a month plus all this other stuff. I had no idea, definitely a well kept secret. Anytime we can help local companies vs the large conglomerate like AT&T, sign me up. Keep up the great work WaFd Bank!

The manager and employees are incredibly friendly, but Washington Federal is like Hotel California…read more- "you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave." I rented a safe deposit box at the Washington Federal branch in Redmond and when I moved to Seattle I closed it two years ago by going into the branch to return my keys and sign the cancelation form. For the past two years I have received multiple bills for the safe deposit box.The first year I called the branch, which confirmed the account was closed, and they said I wouldn't receive another bill. A few weeks later, I received a late noticel. Since then I've repeatedly called the Customer Care Center and am told the account is open. When I explain the account is closed and that I need the billing situation resolved, they say that they will email the branch and follow up with me. No one has ever followed up. My last conversation with Customer Care was about a month ago and I received another bill today. If Washington Federal can't figure out how to close a simple safe deposit box, I wonder how they can be trusted with more complex financial issues? It's not a risk I'm willing to take.
