Upon purchase I was told that my card did not go through. I trusted the cashiers judgement and swiped my card again. Only later did I find out that I was double charged for $25 of groceries. When I went back to confront the cashier about this I was told to come back when the manager was back from vacation in a week. Prices are sky high and today, a young woman spent over $30.00 for gas and purchased a few beverages. On her way out the door she tripped and dropped one of the beverages putting a small hole in the can. She asked the clerk if she could replace it, his comment was "it was your fault I don't care..... no" Really in times like these do a kind gesture. I won't be back, he is rude, it's not the first time I've witnessed him say sarcastically mean things to customers. I do not want to see someone out of a job but he should grateful he has a job and consider some kindness.

Unfortunately most of Washington, Hillsborough and the like area have been as well and they are almost always at least half full at the pumps, with busier times backed up and people waiting in line and people inside backed up sometime 3-4 deep. Still i think they do a good job handling this crowd and getting them in and out timeline. In general the staff over the years has turned over a lot but i can't think of anyone that really wasn't friendly or helpful. Price at the pump isn't great but isn't terrible either, would prefer going this way to the station in Antrim.

There is an expansive and charming patio outside that is puppy friendly. Inside, the seating is more or less sparse but still charming. The menu is extensive. Soups, salads, breakfast items, and both hot and cold sandwiches. I had their French Dip sandwich. Delicious. As well, my oat latte was super! They also have refrigerated stands with both full meals to go, frozen foods and cheeses and salads. Service is awesome. Really so. The storekeeper told me about the place and their growth plans. Over the past two years I've been blessed enough to have traveled all over the world; Portugal, Spain, Italy, France, Australia, New Zealand, Greece. The list goes on and on. Yet, the best cappuccinos I've tasted are at the Bend. I find myself finding reasons to go to Sunapee, so I can stop at The Bend. The food is delicious and made with care & pride. Silas and all the employees are very welcoming! They truly make you feel special, almost a feeling of being home. The smiles, laughter and exceptional service is unique. The Bend is a hidden gem!
