The Caps are an exciting team to watch. We've got a Stanley Cup to our name and that ain't bad. Captain Ovi has been loyal all these years and that's paid off big time. Ted Leonsis and management do a fine job of running a community-responsive NHL team. The Caps unite the city in a very important way and are super kid-friendly. The folks at Capital One Arena do a good job on home game days. I enjoy myself a lot during the game and the event is kept safe and clean. I'm a fan, so totally biased, but truly believe that we're blessed to have this team in DC. Way to Go, Caps! Love you.

**An open apology to the CAPS, their fans and Section 432** I wanted to cheer for you last night ...until I got drunk When I was in the fifth grade, I won tickets to the Caps game. All the other boys in my class offered me money to give them the tickets, but I wanted to go. I dragged my dad out to the game. I told my dad I wanted to play hockey and he said little girls don't play hockey. Angry little girls do... In time I moved away, and spent fifteen years following another team in another state, The San Jose Sharks. With two Pacifos from Rosa Mexicana under my belt, I excited headed back to my roots. Woo a caps game and last night the Caps played the Sharks. Dilemma. I was a quiet fan and respectful at the game. Until the third period, where I might have forgotten what coast I was on and stood up and cheered when 2 goals made it past the Capitals goalie. As my coworker put it, I was the only person standing and cheering in the entire arena. A sad little one person wave. This is perhaps the worst most awkward moment of my life, everyone was staring at me and not in a good way. Things were said. Lady with shiny pants told me to go back to Cali. I told her to go back home and finish bedazzling her pants. I wanted to disappear into my seat and started deciding which one of my friends should hold my earrings in case a fight broke out. Luckily, my section cleared out long before the game was over. Because I felt so awful, for after hockey drinks I wanted to go to a place that was not overpopulated by hockey fans and still open on a school night. Clydes was out of the question. So I thought Zaytinya was a safe bet. As we walk in guess who was there? All of Section 432, Row K, pointing at me. Peace was made at Zaytinya, and I hope peace can be made on yelp. I love watching Caps games and wish them all the best of luck. I really am a lover not a fighter. P.S. Keep on eye on number #90, move him from the checking line. He's the most talented new player you got.

This was my first ever arena football game. I admit, I was sceptical because of the differences…read morefrom regular football. I was amazed to see a very full Verizon Center for the inaugural game! The whole experience was exciting. The fans were cheering non-stop, there was so much going on! Players flew over walls, balls were caught by excited fans, t-shirts were thrown to the crowd, and there was excellent entertainment between plays!! The Valor team absolutely abolished the Baltimore Bregade! It was obvious that there was a lot of talent on the field. I saw good sportsmanship as well. Players on both teams would help each other up after a fall. The players, and coach, also interacted a bit with the crowd. They were waving to people calling out to them, and they even got the crowd cheering. I'd say this is a great family activity. There were a lot of kids that were engaged and enjoying the game. If you have t seen arena football I encourage you to get to a Valor game adap! I'm so glad we have season tickets and can't wait to see the Valor dominate the field again!

Brand new franchise and they absolutely nailed it on opening night!…read more As an inaugural season ticket holder we had several special events prior to the first ever kickoff. The events included Coach Cokinos and went a long way towards welcoming the new fans. Coach answered numerous questions about payroll, strategy, rosters, and rules. We finally got to see Coach's plan in full effect on Friday night. Our seats are five rows from the field and right next to the Valor sideline. We are close enough to hear every word and all of the in-game coaching decisions. QB Meyer executed the offensive game plan beautifully and WR Washington was all over the field. It's going to be exciting watching these guys all season. The prices for beer and food is what you would expect at the Verizon Center (overpriced) but the tickets to the game are reasonably priced. This is definitely a family event with lots of excitement to be had by all. I even caught a ball and got to keep it! The product on the field is elite level and the excitement in the stands is through the roof. Absolutely make the time to check out the next Valor game!

The air was charged and filled with excitement. We all wondered which team would be the victor, who'd bring home the first win of the season?! The food in the club house for season ticket holders was good "game day food." There were soft drinks, hot dogs, other snacks and treats. Before we went to the stadium, we enjoyed music from a band at one event and from a DJ at another. There was also a BBQ event, to decide who had the best food. A perfect mother and son day of football. All in all, it was a great day at the park with the grid iron gladiators.

DC United is by FAR my favorite team (after the Caps) to root for for the following reasons alone: 1) The fans: I can't tell the difference between a hat trick and a ... (insert some soccer term here...my knowledge does not even go that far) so attending other sports games gets kind of dull after I've finished my beer and half smoke. But at DC United, the swell of excitement from the fans...from their stamping...the music...the flags...the yelling. It is so easy to get swept up in their passion here. My heart swells with pride every time I think of attending a game here. 2) The food: Nowhere else in the District can you get handmade pupusas or fajita meat and rice at a stadium. Hot dogs? So overrated! 3) The gossip! Remember back in the day when Freddie Adu dated JoJo? That's some Hollywood romance going on in our backyard right there! I just got super pumped up writing this review (and let's face it...all my super pumped up reviews are about ramen joins and pho shops so that's how much I recommend coming out to a game). Season opener is March 8! See you there!

The DC Divas are DC's all-women, all-tackle professional football team. Yes, this really does make…read morethem the female version of the Redskins. The difference is that women's football is rarely recognized as a viable sport, and the support from the NFL and large corporate sponsors has been close to nil. In fact, the Divas used to belong to the "WNFL" division (Women's National Football League, obviously) until the NFL whined and cried, claiming that this name was a trademark infringement and that the women's league would draw attention and fans away from there. Are you SERIOUS? Why couldn't you help elevate women's athletics, NFL? Why you gotta be like that? I still love you, tho...I can't help myself. (Now the Divas are part of the IWFL, or Independent Women's Football League.) Anyway. The Divas are an incredibly hard-working, dedicated group of women who practice their asses off, play their asses off, and don't get paid a dime to do it. They do it because they. LOVE. football. Period. Their season is Spring/Summer, and their home games are at the great venue of the PG Sports and Learning Complex, directly in the shadow of FedEx Field. General admin tickets are a complete steal at $12, while military, police, fire, and EMS, as well as seniors and children, receive nice discounts. You can buy your tickets online or at the gate. For $20 you can also purchase VIP tickets which get you 50-yard-line seating in bleachers with backs on the seats, a program, and WAITER service! C'mon, that's cool. Concessions (burgers, fried fish, fries etc) are supplied by a lively and friendly family-run vendor, and beer, wine, and mixed drinks are sold at a separate concession stand. Rita's usually sets up shop, too, y'all! Other than the food and beverage vendors, all the games are completely staffed by volunteers, from the chain gang, to the merchandise vendors, to the ticket booth. They're mostly good friends and family of players, but some are just die-hard Divas fans. In fact, most of the coaches, team doctors, and trainers are all volunteer as well. Husband and I have been selling tickets at the gate for the past four seasons. Games are so much fun. I love seeing little kids come through the gate to their first game screaming, with their eyes bugging out of their heads, "Those are GIIIRRRRLS playing?!?!?" Yeah, they sure are, and they're GOOD. They put that other burgundy-and-gold DC football team (who shall remain nameless) to shame. Last year they went to the IWFL Superbowl in Austin, TX, and lost a heart-breaking game but played like champs anyway. They were world champs in 2006, tho! Please come out and support a wonderful team of women who are passionate about what they do. Bring your kids, your friends, make some noise, drink a beer, storm the field afterwards and meet some players. They love their fans. A lot.

My wife and I went to Capital One Arena to watch the Washington Capitals play the New Jersey…read moreDevils. Capital One is easily accessible from the Metro on the Green line with a stop at Gallery Place that exits immediately adjacent to the arena. Getting through security was a breeze with our digital tickets saved to my iPhone. Our seats were in Section 201 which was an escalator ride up one floor. Capital One Arena offers the best of a bar with a variety of beers, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages and a restaurant with fast food selections. We opted for Capit-Ale Golden IPA beers and shared a basket of chicken tenders & French Fries. The Washington Capitals put on a clinic, beating the New Jersey Devils 4-2. Other than an escalator going out of service right where we would have exited after the game was over, forcing us to take the stairs instead (not ideal for someone with mobility issues), the afternoon game was a fun experience. We'll be back!

We all just followed the line and were able to enter smoothly. They also had F Street blocked off for this. The no bag policy - this is something Cap One recently established. From what I read online beforehand, security was a hit or miss. For this event, I saw that they let people go through with purses/bags bigger than 4x6, both clear and non clear. I personally brought something smaller. The venue itself was good! There was also a lot of staff inside directing people and answering questions. No complaints at all on staffing and service! Everyone we encountered was great!! The food stalls were interesting! You scan your credit card in a turnstile first and they let you in to grab food. It was a bit confusing at first because you didn't have to "check out", you just grab the food and go. There's a ton a of cameras in front of the stall, so I think they track what you take then charge you afterward. We sat in section 403, row A and it was a better view than expected! The only downside was that part of the big screen was blocked by a speaker but that probably can't be helped anyway.
