The picture posted is from section 204, seats three and four. Not bad seats IMO. One thing of note--- there weren't any nachos with pulled pork or chicken available at tonight's game. I'm not sure if it's a one off..... I sure hope so All in all, I enjoy events at The Verizon Center.

Go Wizards! Wait, who are the Wizards? Man, I my heart goes out to the Wizards. Because Washington is such a transitory town and the team is relatively new (before '97 they were the Bullets), they have few real fans. On game days, the crowds are split about 50/50 -- not much of a home court advantage. It's funny, because cheering erupts no matter which team scores! My favorite memory of the Wizards was a comeback from 0-2 in the playoffs series against Chicago in '05... then they got rocked by the Heat. Tips: Go Wizards!

New court and uniforms!
Leslie J.

HUGE basketball fan and STILL remain loyal and hopeful with every disappointing season. Check out pics of the new court and uniforms! 1) They should've never gotten rid of Eddie Jordan, and I hope they boot Flip Saunders early or this season will be over before it starts. 2) I wasn't a fan of the uniforms before, but seeing them on the players live with the new court layout changed my mind. 3) I attended the first pre-season game this past Friday, and our starters played like back-ups. We ALMOST lost by 40, but we upped the ante a little and cut that loss in half. Unfortunately, it wasn't that enjoyable to see them lose, but I scored some club level seats for free so no complaints there! One of the worst teams in the NBA (Sixers) made the Wizards look awful that night -- pathetic defense, numerous turnovers, couldn't finish plays. What an OFF night. Here's to a (hopefully) better season! And I hope to goodness the Wizards step up their game because it hurt to witness that loss. Gah! The pain and agony us DC fans go through with our local sports teams...

Wizards!

The Wizards are the Wiz! I am giving the team 4 stars because I know they are capable of greatness. The team gave me much happiness in the years of Gilbert Arenas, I attended many games during those good years. My love of basketball really came in my college days. I know the Wizards can come back and really become something special.

This is my third year having season tickets and the games are always a blast! We were here when the Wiz were terrrrible and it's awesome to watch the team grow into back-to-back playoffs appearances. Hopefully they can make it past the 2nd round this year. They always special events for season ticket holders and the reps go out of their way to help you enjoy the season. Even if you don't want to purchase season tickets be sure to grab some single game tickets and make your way out to support the Wizards!

Gilbert Arenas is the best athlete in DC. He alone may be worth the price of admission to a Wizards game. But who are the rest of these guys? Stevenson? Daniels? Hayes? This team is rife with mediocrity. Antwan Jamison, our second-leading scorer, is a washed-up Carolina product, and Caron Butler, who is supposed to be our second-best, has yet to prove himself in this league. They say the Wizards run a Princeton style offense...this is a laughable comparison. No team in the NBA runs practices anything that resembles a team approach--all I see is a circus of running and jumping, individuals taking turns throwing balls through a hoop. If you want to see good basketball, go to a Georgetown game.

Wiz vs Nuggets

This team has changed a lot since my last review in 2011 when I couldn't give VIP tickets away for free. Finally fans will get their money's worth. The team does a great job keeping the fans involved with their crazy dunking and fast play. It's great to see this franchise finally going in the right direction after the Kwame Brown bust. John Wall is playing at a high level and the addition of Paul Pierce during the offseason was an added bonus. Excited to see how far they will go this year.

Anywhere you sit, you can have a good view. The seats are very tight and not a lot of leg room, but the atmosphere was energetic and lively.

The whole experience was exciting. The fans were cheering non-stop, there was so much going on! Players flew over walls, balls were caught by excited fans, t-shirts were thrown to the crowd, and there was excellent entertainment between plays!! The Valor team absolutely abolished the Baltimore Bregade! It was obvious that there was a lot of talent on the field. I saw good sportsmanship as well. Players on both teams would help each other up after a fall. The players, and coach, also interacted a bit with the crowd. They were waving to people calling out to them, and they even got the crowd cheering. I'd say this is a great family activity. There were a lot of kids that were engaged and enjoying the game. If you have t seen arena football I encourage you to get to a Valor game adap! I'm so glad we have season tickets and can't wait to see the Valor dominate the field again!

The events included Coach Cokinos and went a long way towards welcoming the new fans. Coach answered numerous questions about payroll, strategy, rosters, and rules. We finally got to see Coach's plan in full effect on Friday night. Our seats are five rows from the field and right next to the Valor sideline. We are close enough to hear every word and all of the in-game coaching decisions. QB Meyer executed the offensive game plan beautifully and WR Washington was all over the field. It's going to be exciting watching these guys all season. The prices for beer and food is what you would expect at the Verizon Center (overpriced) but the tickets to the game are reasonably priced. This is definitely a family event with lots of excitement to be had by all. I even caught a ball and got to keep it! The product on the field is elite level and the excitement in the stands is through the roof. Absolutely make the time to check out the next Valor game!

Two years that were very good times in my life! All eyes are going to be on the team and the star player tomorrow when they play the Islanders. Alexander Ovechkin a Russian Hockey Player most likely will break the long time record for the most goals in a career. Ovechkin has already tied the record held by Wayne Gretzky. I'm recommending you enjoy hockey live and on television. I will definitely be watching the game on TV tomorrow at 12:30pm Capitals versus the Islanders. I'm a huge hockey fan of all the teams. In the playoffs, the team has been relatively mediocre, with a sub-.470 win percentage. The lack of playoff success shows in the number of Stanley Cup Finals (2) and Stanley Cup championships (1) won. Since drafting Alexander Ovechkin with the first pick in 2004, Ovechkin has been synonymous with the Capitals. So far, he's spent all 17 seasons of his NHL career playing for Washington. In July 2021, he signed a five-year deal with the Capitals that's worth an average of $9.5 million per year. The contract will see him through to the 2025-26 season. By the end of that season, he'll be 40 years old. Ovechkin is a living legend and for-sure hall-of-famer. He's currently the only active NHL player within striking distance of Wayne Gretzky's all-time NHL regular-season goals scored record of 894. At the time of writing this review, Ovechkin has scored 772 goals and ranks third behind Gretzky and another legend, Gordie Howe (801), all time. Gretzky scored at a rate of .601 goals per game. Ovechkin's current career pace is higher at .611, so he has a realistic shot at surpassing The Great One. Needless to say, Ovechkin has set lots of records, both within the franchise and league-wide. He's also as decorated as they get. Now a 12-time All-Star, he holds the record for most Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophies (season-leading goal scorer) won with nine and counting. He's a three-time Hart Memorial Trophy (NHL regular season MVP) winner (2008, 2009, 2013) and he won the Conn Smythe Trophy (Stanley Cup Playoffs MVP) in 2018. Ovechkin has been the team captain since 2010. 2018 is when Ovi and the Caps won the Stanley Cup. After dropping Game 1 on the road at T-Mobile Arena (Paradise, Nevada), Washington rebounded to win Games 2 through 5 and win their Finals matchup against the Vegas Golden Knights, 4-1. The Capitals closed out a tight one on the road in Game 5, winning 4-3: https://youtu.be/IzyKiQY5GoI. The Golden Knights were brand new that season (2017-18). The Capitals' head coach at the time was Barry Trotz. After only four seasons in Washington, he resigned just days after leading the Capitals to the Stanley Cup championship (contract disagreements) and signed with the New York Islanders. The Capitals have had two head coaches since Trotz: Todd Reirden (2018-2020) and current coach Peter Laviolette. Unlike Reirden, Laviolette brought over 15 years of NHL head coaching experience to Washington. Coincidentally, Laviolette's first NHL head coaching job is where Trotz is today, the New York Islanders. He led the Carolina Hurricanes to the 2006 Stanley Cup championship and led both the Philadelphia Flyers (2010) and the Nashville Predators (2017) to the Stanley Cup Finals.

DC United has been one of the most successful clubs in MLS to date. In terms of total MLS Cups won,…read moreDC is currently second (4 championships), trailing only the LA Galaxy (5). DC United is tied with the LA Galaxy for the most Supporters' Shields won (4 each; most seasons with best regular season record). They've also won three US Open Cups (second-most in the league) and are the only MLS team to have won either the CONCACAF Champions League and the Copa Interamericana championship. So, when it comes to Major League Soccer, this is what you call a historically elite team. DC United was one of the original 10 teams to begin MLS play in the league's inaugural season in 1996. They had success right out the gate, winning the MLS Cup in 1996, 1997, and 1999. The team carried that success into the 2000s, but aside from their 2013 US Open Cup win (where they were underdogs), they haven't won anything of consequence since. A couple of the most well-known players and coaches from DC United include Bolivian forward Jaime Moreno and American midfielder and coach Ben Olsen. Moreno and Olsen were teammates on the 1999 and 2004 MLS Cup championship teams. Moreno has gone on to set club records in many statistical categories including most appearances (427) and goals scored (162). No other DC United player has come close. The season immediately after his last as a player (2009), Olsen took the reins as head coach in 2010 after the firing of Curt Onalfo. Olsen went on to coach DC United for an entire decade (2010-2020), by far the longest tenure of any club coach. For the first 22 seasons, DC United played in the old RFK Stadium (opened 1961) which was used for a variety of sporting events including Washington Redskins (NFL), Washington Nationals (MLB), and Military Bowl (NCAA Division I FBS) games. The team has played at Audi Field since its opening in 2018. Audi Field, which was built specifically for DC United, is located about 10-15 minutes (5-6 miles) away from the old stadium, down the Anacostia River. In its final years as home to DC United, RFK was configured to seat 20,000 for MLS games, same as Audi Field.

The difference is that women's football is rarely recognized as a viable sport, and the support from the NFL and large corporate sponsors has been close to nil. In fact, the Divas used to belong to the "WNFL" division (Women's National Football League, obviously) until the NFL whined and cried, claiming that this name was a trademark infringement and that the women's league would draw attention and fans away from there. Are you SERIOUS? Why couldn't you help elevate women's athletics, NFL? Why you gotta be like that? I still love you, tho...I can't help myself. (Now the Divas are part of the IWFL, or Independent Women's Football League.) Anyway. The Divas are an incredibly hard-working, dedicated group of women who practice their asses off, play their asses off, and don't get paid a dime to do it. They do it because they. LOVE. football. Period. Their season is Spring/Summer, and their home games are at the great venue of the PG Sports and Learning Complex, directly in the shadow of FedEx Field. General admin tickets are a complete steal at $12, while military, police, fire, and EMS, as well as seniors and children, receive nice discounts. You can buy your tickets online or at the gate. For $20 you can also purchase VIP tickets which get you 50-yard-line seating in bleachers with backs on the seats, a program, and WAITER service! C'mon, that's cool. Concessions (burgers, fried fish, fries etc) are supplied by a lively and friendly family-run vendor, and beer, wine, and mixed drinks are sold at a separate concession stand. Rita's usually sets up shop, too, y'all! Other than the food and beverage vendors, all the games are completely staffed by volunteers, from the chain gang, to the merchandise vendors, to the ticket booth. They're mostly good friends and family of players, but some are just die-hard Divas fans. In fact, most of the coaches, team doctors, and trainers are all volunteer as well. Husband and I have been selling tickets at the gate for the past four seasons. Games are so much fun. I love seeing little kids come through the gate to their first game screaming, with their eyes bugging out of their heads, "Those are GIIIRRRRLS playing?!?!?" Yeah, they sure are, and they're GOOD. They put that other burgundy-and-gold DC football team (who shall remain nameless) to shame. Last year they went to the IWFL Superbowl in Austin, TX, and lost a heart-breaking game but played like champs anyway. They were world champs in 2006, tho! Please come out and support a wonderful team of women who are passionate about what they do. Bring your kids, your friends, make some noise, drink a beer, storm the field afterwards and meet some players. They love their fans. A lot.
