Kind of like a treasure hunt. So I went to this store the other day and the employees were extremely friendly and engaging. I got exactly what I wanted without knowing what I was going to get in the first place. In fact it was the employees demeanor and attitude that led to me making a purchase. Some hardware stores aren't very friendly to out of state visitors so this was a welcome change. One of them was also wearing a cool Hawaiian shirt. Really sealed the deal there.

I spend a decent amount of time in hardware stores for work and hobbies, this one has more than just all the stuff I need. They have one of the nicest antique tool, hardware, sign and useful stuff collections I have seen. The service to me has always been good and at times it is amazing. The knowledge of the owner and staff of their products and practical application is broad, I regularly come in with repair and maintenance problems which they will gladly suggest working solutions to, and/or reference to someone that can help. They research items for me on a regular basis, have surprised me by stocking items based on my inquiries and process special orders easily as part of the daily routine. I also like that the owner works in the store and there has been zero turnover in staff in the two years I have been shopping here, try finding that at Home Despot. On top of all that they generously give to the community, by donating material, time and expertise to volunteer projects that improve the quality of life for the citizens of Forks and all of our seasonal visitors. I highly recommend stopping in, even if you don't need a new thingamajig for your whatsit, as far as hardware stores go this one is cool!

I found swain's on google and headed there, hoping it was as good as our local independent hardware store. I was NOT disappointed. I got a very helpful employee who helped me find the screw. He did this after handling Amazon returns AND color matching paint! Btw, this store had EVERYTHING. Camping gear, hardware, clothing, porch geese, clothes for your porch goose, candy, plumbing, tackle, you name it! Plus the prices were very reasonable. I am very glad I chose Swain's over the big nane stores. Definitely recommend

I had to go into the store to pay for the gas. The pumps don't have a card reader. The store sells a bit of everything, including vintage candy (NECCO wafers)! I picked up hamburger buns and frozen fries to help prepare a good dinner after a day of exploring the park. I could have hung out even longer since the coffee was only $1.50! I picked up a great tote bag with the logo. It is a favorite souvenir to add to my collection!

Worst customer service ever! I purchased a Genesis grill. Assembly and delivery were included in…read morethe price. When I went to start it the igniter didn't work. I called the store to see if they would fix it or replace it. The assistant manager , Ashley, said it was not her problem- call Weber. Also added-I just work here. I then talked to the manager , Bill. he was extremely rude saying that it was my problem and to take up with Weber. Side note-I am a 72 year old grandmother living alone without the ability and tools to deal with this. After much combative rhetoric, Bill, reluctantly said he would refund my money but I had to deliver it back to the store. I was treated rudely after purchasing an expensive grill that didn't work. This was a hideous and costly experience.

I ordered 3 20' sticks of rebar. He directed me to drive in back, give the printout to one of the men to get my goods. Again, a friendly greeting by a very courteous friendly & helpful young man who immediately went off with his forklift for my order. Upon return he waited patiently while I cut the sticks to a size that would fit in my car. He offered to help but I was OK. All in all it was a good experience. It is a place that I would be comfortable sending my wife. BTW, from a distance the lumber looked like top quality & the store looked well stocked.
