The Wash Haus is not really that bad of a place. It has high traffic, so yes it is kind of messy....but what do you expect from a 24/7 laundry facility?
The dryers are really big and can fit multiple loads of clothes. I have tons of clothes, and appreciate the fact that my comforter can also be washed and dryed in the units.
When you don't have your own washer and dryer, you kind of deal with the surroundings. I mean, can a washer ever really be THAT dirty? Can a dryer really be that bad? Maybe I have low expecations for laundry mats, but I go here every other week, eat at How Do You Roll around the corner, grab a cup of coffee at Mugwalls and do my homework, then swich loads, hit up the Tap if my friends are there and then get my laundry at the end and call it a night.
It's a very convenient place, affordable, works with my schedule and the only bad aspects are the bathrooms are not clean and every once in a while the dryer smells strongly of curry, (which then just made me use the one next to it that did not smell like anything). Maybe it's because I have lived in bigger cities but I find this facility to not be that bad of a place.
If you want sparkling, clean sterilized units then maybe you should buy your own washer and dryer and not have your nose up in the air at public laundry mats....go to a friend's house that has a set? Or go to Harvy Washbangers before 9pm.
Be realistic with what you are needing. You need your clothes washed, don't want to rush there before 9pm or deal with crowds and want to go somewhere with plenty of parking, then this place is a good place to go. read more
