Before this incident occurred I've always thought our experiences here were okay. But at my child's 15 month wellness exam I had something happen that deeply troubled me. My son is not circumcised and is intact. It is recommended by basically every organization that forced retraction is to never occur as it can cause many issues to your baby. Dr. Hornyik forcibly retracted my son when doing his check up and advised that I do the same! He cried and signed "owie" and now he gets nervous when I do diaper changes on him. This was NOT okay and I do NOT trust doctors who are not up to date on medical advice. We will be changing pediatricians immediately. read more

NEVER GO TO THIS OFFICE They are awful, it takes them many months after an appointment to get the bill out to you. After getting several shots for our son we got a bill for over $600 and they told us they don't actually take our insurance but my wife spoke with them before our very first appointment and they confirmed they do take our insurance. My wife spoke with the pediatrician's billing department and they said they'd look into it for us but then they kept escalating. We'd get letters saying we needed to pay or they'd send it to collections. She'd call after that and they'd say they will look into it but would still escalate the process until they eventually sent it to collections anyway. Now Wasatch tells us we never actually had insurance at the time our son got those shots because the insurance company we had went out of business. So the story from Wasatch completely changed. However, the monthly payments to our insurance company continued to go through and when we did end up switching insurance companies my wife spoke to a representative of the insurance company. So Wasatch completely screwed us over and we've got to deal with the collections people now. What makes it so much more aggravating is we were in contact with the billing department the whole time from when we first received their $600 bill and they would say one thing but act out something completely different. Now because it's gone to collections we're potentially and likely out thousands of dollars. When we called Wasatch Pediatrics about the situation their only solace they could provide is we're not the only people going through this but they doing this garbage to many people right now. My daughter and I waited for over an hour before being seen. Each receptionist was on a call while a line of customers waited to be checked in. It's funny how Drs will charge a late fee if you show up 15 minutes late but then make you wait an hour as if our time wasn't as valuable as theirs. read more

I have been coming to this office since my twins were born. Dr stamphl was the pediatrician on call the day they were born and we really liked him. We loved Amy his MA and how kind she was and have loved working with dr stamphl. But these past few times we have had a new nurse who isn't as caring and then 2 weeks ago I took my daughter in for a uti we started meds and it never went away I called to office to see if I needed to refill the meds or come get a urine sample cup and they said I needed to bring her in. I asked why since they literally just saw her 10 days earlier. But They were very strict on this policy. So I agreed to but Then the next problem arose. The next day was considered holiday hours and they only schedule appts back to back. I told them I was out of town for work and my daughters sitter couldn't bring her In til alittle later then the first available appt. they said I am sorry we can't make later appts until the first ones are filled. They are to stuck in their policy's and have no exceptions To help make it work. What happened to the child first??? Or working with parents that have work??? I am sad to look for a new pediatrician but need to have one with a front office that works with parents schedules better. read more

I had a really bad experience with my last pediatrician at South Point Pediatrics (also Draper) and I'll admit I was nervous about finding a new pediatrician. But I came here to Dr Stamfl and he noticed the moment i walked into the room that my son had torticollis, which my previous pediatrician never pointed out. He's been nothing but kind and knowledgable and I'd recommend him to anyone. My son no longer has neck and head shape issues--those have been resolved. We're moving to Vineyard soon and I'll probably make the drive to continue going to this office. read more

Good Doctor, great nurse, horrible front desk service. They absolutely refuse to give out a script faster than 24-48 hours unless begged repeatedly. They were supposed to send out a script and a week later, it did not arrive. When calling to get it 6 days later, I was told that even though I should have received it already, it would be another 24-48 hours to get one. I finally after several calls could get it at the end of the day, even though I called right when they opened. I will be changing doctors. read more

We enjoyed our pediatrician but his nurse was rude and unprofessional. She made comments in regards to our medical choices and even what toys our son had with him (he had a purple stuffed animal in which she referenced us being very progressive to allow him to have a girl toy). We switched offices due to feeling uncomfortable with her. read more

Flexibility goes both ways. You are working with children. We were 15 minutes late because our 5 year old had a complete meltdown upon leaving. They wouldn't see him because we were 15 minutes late. If they could guarantee that I would never have to wait 15 minutes then I'd continue seeing them, but they can't make that guarantee. Double standard. My son is almost 11 years old and he has been going to Wasatch Pediatrics in Millcreek since he was born. About 2 years ago we switched over to the Draper office since it was closer to home and have had nothing but problems as my son has ADHD and needs medication to focus at school. He has been being seen by Suzanne Peterson who is in their mental heath area. Which the Millcreek office doesn't have. I feel like I have to jump through hoops for my sons medication. She wants to see him all the time for a 20 min conversation about how the medication is working. I have a high deductible plan and have to fork out $160 each time we go see her. Then the medication on top of that is $180. She claims he only has to see her every 6 months but has seen him 3 times alone this year and won't refill his prescription until we go see her again. I feel like we are getting nothing out of this other than wasting money. It seems like it is a way for her to make money so it is a requirement where as we did not have to go in this often with his other doctors. I don't trust Wasatch Pediatrics anymore and I would not recommend anyone go to them! read more

Stampfl for a free consultation. he came in and pretty much asked what questions i have for him and i told him id never had a kid before and wasnt sure what to ask... he laughed and pretty much told me everything i needed to know and asked me a few questions about breast feeding and circumcision. my boyfriends sister uses him for her two kids and my doctor recommended him and now i see why! read more

If I could rate this office a - zero I wouldn't hesitate! I've been taking my 2 kids in to see Suzanne Peterson who deals with the mental health side in Draper. Just like another reviewer said on here its like a circus hoops course with Suzanne. Its become a waste of time & money because she constantly wants to see them. Ive dealt with until now! Suzanne has a new secretary and when I called in to have my sons prescription refilled I requested a higher dose. She put me on hold to talk to Suzanne and said it was fine, the secretary verified that it was the correct prescription but when I picked up the prescription it was the wrong one from 7 months ago. I called and asked that they refund me the money I spent because it was their mistake and Suzanne blamed me for not knowing what medication my son is taking and that I verified the wrong one. Its so disappointing that they refuse to admit that they made a mistake and to make it right!! 1. On my baby's first visit, the doctor told me that my baby lost too much weight after he was born.This visit was friday and they asked me to give him formula and come and weighed him again on Saturday and Monday. So, Monday we realized that he gained 5 pounds in 3 days, which is impossible. Then they said oops. We weighed him wrong. Soorry. 2. Again, they said again your baby lost so much weight about 10 pounds. Then when we checked the his growth curve, it was obvious that they entered his weight incorrectly in prior visit. 3. I had to make 10 calls to get an appointment. 4.About 10 days ago, my son was coughing and he had runny nose. I took him there since I wanted make sure it is not allergic asthma and two of his brothers had because of bad weather. The nurse practitioner saw him and she said bring him if it is getting worse and there is wheezing. Yesterday and today his temperature got higher and he started wheezing. He does not eat or sleep. He is crying all the time. So, I called the office three times. At last, they answered. Then, they transferred to me a nurse. She said the temperature is not that high, keep an eye on him. Give tylenol. This is not a high fever. I understand fever is not high but tylenol does not fix couching. Plus, he is getting worse. I do not want to end up in emergency room in the middle of the night. Secondly, they are asking me how he is breathing. I am not a medical personnel or I did not get any medical education to describe the difference in breathing. When I said I am not happy, then they tried to be more specific and they asked me to describe how he is coughing. i do not know any different types of coughing. I raised two kids. I went to a different pediatrician. Since they are not close any more, I chose this service. My two sons they were sick so many times and when I called the office, they helped me any time. I did not have to learn different types of breathing or coughing. Instead of asking to put a diagnosis to my son on the phone, they gave an appointment because they wanted to help. However, I do not see this or willingness to help me in Wastach Pediatrics. Lastly, I told to the nurse that I am not feeling comfortable, the nurse changed her mind and she said ok, we can put you in. If you had room at first, why it took so long and why I had to have this conversation? Plus, this is a service and I pay a lot in return. However, I had to beg to get a service from them. Lastly, the nurse practitioner asked me to bring him if he is not getting better. In addition, this started yesterday and I wanted to make sure whether he is enough sick to bring him. This is ridiculous. So far, I had the impression of pediatrics is the place trying to help to the kids and parents. I am so sorry to say that I did not see this in this office.I will stop bringing my three kids to their office. read more

Caring doctors, but are constantly overbooked. Getting in for regular check ups on time is almost impossible. My child was given combination vaccines after I spoke with the doctor and specified I did not want them. I even noted this on the paperwork. After I discovered this, and asked the MA about it, she said it must have been a communication error. I asked for a copy of the records because I wanted to see if I misunderstood something. If so, I would take accountability and course correct next time. When I got the copy, my note was scratched out to make it look like I consented. Lost all trust in the doctor and the staff. The doctor did not listen to me as a parent, and protocol was not followed for vaccines. The attitude of the staff was dismissive and with one MA in particular, quite rude. No accountability, no apology, no follow up from the doctor. It is not ok to inject my child with meds that I did not authorize. Period! We left and went to a new practice immediately. read more

If I could push zero stars I would. The staff at the front desk is awful. They seem very unprofessional and unfriendly. We checked in and talked with them and sat down and waited a long time. I went up to ask how much longer and they were like have you checked in yet. What!? You just talked with us! And watch out if you come here! They never ask for a copay even though the sign behind the desk says payment is due at service. You will get a surprise bill in the mail. And if you bother to call billing or the manager to talk about the bill they will "always be in a meeting". Finally when we got through to billing they said it's up to us if we have to pay a copay. And not up to them to ask. What!? Every doctors office I have been to asks for a copay if it is due!! We went again recently and they at no time asked for a copay. And I was like don't you need my copay and the lady at the desk was like oh yeah like it didn't even pop in her head to ask. I wasn't about to get a another surprise bill! Because my husband got frustrated with billing and told them we were going elsewhere the DR. Got on to my husband about being rude and raising his voice to the staff. What!?!? We didn't even know what he was talking about. All we were wondering was why we kept getting these surprise bills! Very unprofessional ! Overall do not go here look elsewhere for a more friendly and professional place to take your children!! read more
