Tmyou should call for a reservation before you come here as it could be quite packed during the weekends. There are tons of yummy Malaysian food to order. I be tried the hainanese chicken , the meat is soft and succulent with the jelly like skin. Love the cucumbers and soya sauce with it, definitely should try with the chili sauce. Another fav is the beef rendang. The meat is so soft. It kinda melts in your mouth the sauce is really fragrant super yums if you eat it with white rice. We tried the fried kangkung with chili belacan too. It's awesome, it makes me think of home. If you would like noodles there are hokkien mee which is the fat noodles fried in black sauce. Another is the curry laksa which is the curry coconut milk soup with Vege and noodles.

There are many places in Melbourne to get my fix, but I always come back to Malaymas - and I always order the Fried Kuey Teow, as theirs is the best that I've tasted in Melbourne, without any disappointment. It's a humble restaurant (I like it that way), with a menu to satisfy your Malaysian cravings. They do really good Hainanese Chicken Rice and hot Horlicka too - mmmm.... The only downside (for me) is the roti canai - still yummy, no doubt, but can't beat made on-the-spot rotis. Decently priced and generous portions, lovely friendly staff too. I highly recommend Malaymas.

We were greeted by a cheerful character named Charles who saw us to our seats. The other wait staff were also very friendly & accommodating. All three dishes were amazing and with varying flavours. The pricing was good too. Would love to try out their lunch menu at some point.

You keep to hail the staff to get their attention. Good arrives ad ie is made rather than all at once As the place is Malaysian fusion you will see thai and Singaporean dishes on the menu. My recommendation stick to the Malaysian dishes The beef rendang and chicken kampong were uniquely delicious with undercurrents of coconut in thick gravy succulent chicken thigh and large pieces of beef. The roti is definitely made by them rather than the frozen store bought ones and is thin but layered. My colleague who is Malaysian didnt like his thai style fried chicken dish. Venue is beautiful. Sarawak is no exception, and their prices definitely make me want to come back for more. You order downstairs and they give you a number to take to a table of your choosing. It's open seating so feel free to go upstairs for more space. My friend and I split three big plates: seafood laksa, bak kut teh, and the char kwey teow. The laksa was flavorful but used thin egg noodles instead of the thicker ones I am used to. Definitely KL style and not from Penang, so don't expect a sour broth. The bak kuh teh though was on point, with big helpings of pork bone for you to enjoy. As for the char kwey teow, it was spicy, fragrant, and tasted like it had been stir fried on a wok. Loved it. The other cool thing is that they have plenty of tupperware lying around so you can bag your food as you please. There's even containers for sauces so do not forget to bring home the sriracha with your noodles. Unfortunately there are no toilets inside the restaurant, so you'll have to settle for the public ones on the streets. We nearly threw up using those, so beware. Keep doing what you're doing Sarawak! Stay delicious.

Going here for a work function one Friday evening, I had no idea what the menu items were on the banquet we were all sharing, but nevertheless from the flavours I could smell throughout this cosy restaurant, I was sure it'd be ok. When it came to the table I must admit, I turned my nose up a little. Just coz i was hungry and I really wanted to enjoy what I was going to eat, but from the looks of it I wasn't so sure. Until I bit into it. Oh. My. God! Delicious!!! We had the Billies banquet for $31 per person. It started with curry puffs, spring rolls and something called ling ling, all of which was appetising. Then out came the Indian Mee Goreng (scrumptious!), followed by Assam Fish (the sauce of which was exquisite, spicy, tangy and quite tropical with tomato and pineapple), and Beef Rendang, the curry and coconut sauce very Indian like. There was also a spinach type dish, rice, bread, tea and coffee. It truly was a banquet, fit for Kings. The entertainment is brilliant as well, and certainly reflects the 'Soul' in the name of this restaurant. Great food, good times, fantastic service and even better entertainment. It truly is good for the soul.

Personally, I would describe Malysian food as a mix between Thai/ Southeast Asian, and Indian cuisine.I tried something called Daging Ria, a beef dish infused with ginger, snow peas, carrots, spring onion and red chilli. My friend tried the red curry, and we shared a duck salad. As I mentioned, everything was great. The flavours were full but not too overpowering, and we certainly didnt leave hungry!
