Elephant corridor was recommended to me by a Colombo local so i knew that it had to be good. I booked online and received an instant email confirmation. I also received a text confirmation 1-2 days before my dinner date. There is heaps of free parking in the area but as the restaurant is located on a busy street with so so many restaurants and Asian groceries, it is difficult to find parking. I recommend that you avoid the street parking as you will be stuck for a while and head straight for the undercover cark park which i believe has over 540 spaces. The restaurant has dark mood lighting and both indoor and outdoor seating. We arrived at 6.30pm to a very busy restaurant so much so that one couple was asked to sit outside as they said the restaurant was fully booked out. So definitely make a booking. White table cloths with brown paper on top. Free poppadum and green and tamarind chutneys offered once you order. Roving water fairies fill your glass. There is a bar and a decent drinks list. My friend went for the Shiraz and i for the sweet mango lassi. We had been recommended the crab curry so went straight for it. You can also get Indian options like naan bread and lamb Madras but we were here for the Sri Lankan experience. So we got the rice noodle Hoppers. You get fifteen round shaped vermicelli like noodles that come in white and a purplish looking colour. It is recommended that you eat it with this yellow thick Sri Lankan soup but we felt that we didn't need it. The yellow soup is slightly sweet and has a mustardy taste to it. We enjoyed it more with our deliciously thick crab curry. You get an entire crab and the tools to eat it and also bibs. Me having no patience used my hands to break the legs and draw the meat our with my fork like utensil. We asked for medium spicy as they had advised us that extra spicy is very spicy and i felt that the spice was good and strong without overpowering the underlying flavours of coconut and mustard seeds. We also got the cauliflower okra curry which again has some delicious mustardy flavours with some turmeric. I loved the food as the flavours were so unique and each dish was quite unique. Service is super quick. We were in and out within an hour. And though the restaurant had a big group celebrating their 30th, they were still good at providing service on time. It did get very very noisy and hence we didn't stay too long. The desserts with golden fairy floss looked fancy but we were satiated. Good portions. Amazing flavours. And good price. Definitely want to come back to get some egg hoppers

I love my indian, and I'm definately partial to a good butter chicken. I went into Elephant Corridor with fairly high expectations after reading some decent reviews on the place. The restaurant itself was clean and well set out, plenty of tables but not over cramped. I didn't feel like I was sitting at the next groups table which was good. We shared a vegetarian curry and a butter chicken and a couple of naan breads. The butter chicken was fantastic, it had great balance of flavour, not too hot. The veg curry was good too, though it was alittle on the spicy side which took over the taste of the vegetables (though some people would probably like that!). The naan was really good, and is really nessessary to make the most of the sauce (for some reason I think licking the plate might be frowned upon..).

I like to support Malaysian business but your food and service is not up to basic level. Your curry and food is cold and come in cheap plastic takeaway tubs /plates and you want to charge it as fine dining prices. Your service is poor and you cannot handle a simple 3 person lunch order without having to remind you what is missing. Your coffee and teh tarik is nothing what it should be and your prices are really too rich and mahal for me. Pls check around the food and price of your surrounding restaurant and you will find you are overpriced.

Their curries here are very authentic and packed full of spicy and robust flavors. Rich Maha is a run down, old and ugly looking restaurant, the chairs and tables are cheap and wobble, and the whole place doesn't look very well maintained in general, this doesn't stop the hordes of people from dining here though. Rich Maha offers 1 thing, very tasty food at a very good price. They have a large variety of curries here, each with different flavors and bases - I would say most people here come and order a variety of curries with a side of roti. They offer a lot of other traditional dishes too, such as Nasi Lemak and Curry Laksa. I really enjoyed the food here, but will probably order takeaway next time because I feel like the dining area is dirty and too crowded.

Like many other restaurants in the area, I found myself to be the only one sitting in the dining area staring at the pictures of the Taj Mahal and other iconic Indian decorative artwork. The background music was a lovely CD of some person playing sitar, which made me reminisce of the phase The Beatles went through with George Harrison and John Lennon on the quest for inner peace. First came some complimentary papadums with the chilled 'green sauce'; that was a nice touch. With quite an impressive array of food on offer, I decided to go with the usual butter chicken, dal, saffron rice and samosas. I do love how restaurants nowadays present you with your whole order all at once rather than in stages. I felt as though I was having my last meal before beginning as a contestant on TBL. The food was excellent although the waitress didn't come over to ask whether the meal was ok; perhaps they're very confident in their product. And although the restaurant's phone rang a number of times and people placed orders, I remained the only person in the restaurant. It makes me wonder how restaurants like these can attract a clientele to sit and eat at their establishment. Perhaps having a live sitar performer on certain nights may be a draw card.

Having travelled throughtout India I can honestly say the food is authentic. The fact that it is also BYO (all drinks) adds to the overall inexpensive nature of the meal. We especially like the vegetarian dishes on offer. A must try is the wild tandori mushrooms.
