I've found that restaurant prices are high here in the cities of Australia, so I wasn't surprised by the cost. It was in line with the average prices I've encountered. I settled on the butter chicken and plain naan. There was plenty of both chicken and sauce in the portion I got. There were two pieces of naan bread; great for sopping up the sauce, as I chose not to order rice. Both were very good. At first I wasn't sure it would be enough but it turned out to be just right.
But there were three things I wanted to try and unfortunately there were no half-portions available. The waiter said they would do a half-portion of plain biryani, but that's it. I opted for naan instead. I wish they would consider half-portions so I could have tried more items.
When you see the sign on Little Collins Street, don't enter there. You'll end up in a bar. Instead, walk back a few steps away from Elizabeth Street and you'll see a little food "alley." It's in there. The alley and restaurant are accessible. Tram stop close by on Elizabeth Street. It's a cute little tucked away spot that I think would be good for date night or a small group. You can make reservations but I went in the early evening and had no problem. Alcohol is available; there were beers in the cooler, and I think there was also some liquor behind the counter, but I'm not positive.
Sorry no photos; strangely, they all came out blurry, which is unusual for me. read more
