I did not find this place on Yelp, yet if I was searching Yelp and found it I would never regret it. My cousin introduced me to the Sensei of this school Jadi Tention. One of the best things he could have done for me. Growing up I've always wanted to take self defense / martial arts, yet my mother could not afford it. As I became and adult I figured it was time to follow one of my life's passions and signed up with Tention Championship Karate (TCK). Fast forward - six years later I still train at TCK and for many reasons: He cares about his students (from the children to the adults). He's built his dojo around the development of our future youth. He takes the time to hear the parents and students concerns. He's competed all around the world and still teaches seminars and spars with us as well. He treats everyone as an equal. He really goes far and above the normal martial arts school (and I've been to several prior TCK). Enough rambling! If you're an adult and want to lose weight or learn self defense I recommend training here. If you're a parent with a child that's too hyper, being bullied, or disrespectful, bring them to TCK. I've seen many children become great teens and amazing young adults. Martial arts is more than kicking and punching, it will teach everyone no matter the age; confidence, loyalty, discipline, respect,and humility. Thank you TCK for all you have done.

I cancelled my membership at Castle Hill YMCA within days of joining because the staff here are…read moreflat-out rude and unprofessional. They spoke down to my children on multiple occasions, thinking the kids wouldn't tell me. I personally witnessed them being especially nasty toward Black children while sitting around gossiping and judging members like immature teenagers. To make it worse, some staff hid behind Spanish, assuming no one could understand their anti-Black comments. That is not just unprofessional, it's discriminatory and unacceptable. This is supposed to be a family-friendly, welcoming space--but instead, the staff create a hostile and toxic environment. If they keep treating people this way, they're going to end up with serious legal problems. I would never recommend this YMCA to anyone. And now, after I left a negative review, they've decided to try to paint my children as "troublemakers." This is nothing more than a weak attempt at damage control by staff who don't want to take responsibility for their own rude and discriminatory behavior. I also have never seen the pool being cleaned. Not another dime from me.

My favorite time here is definitely the sauna, after a hard workout. 9 out of 10 times I've used it, it's always empty. And who could beat that view from the gym?! If you wanna get a good stretch in, or have your own yoga practice, there's a great, spacious studio just opposite the gym.You can access this area from the main door or the side (by the treadmills) . This room is filled with mats and other accessories you might need. Go in on leg day? They have an elevator that can take you up or down, should you need it.

Master John "Fighting Irish " O'Leary has been a Martial Artist for nearly a half century. He's a 7th Degree Black Belt in ISSHINRYU KARATE under a Legend within Eastern Martial Arts, Hanshi Tommy May. Kyoshi O'leary has trained in so many other arts as well. He's great with kids and adults, He understands his students needs and wants. He treats everyone with respect and dignity. Enjoy your new lifestyle with him.

When my friends suggested that I sign up, I was skeptical..thought it was more of a guy thing. Turns out Victory has a woman's cardio kick boxing class and a woman's only martial arts class. The instructors there encourage me to "keep working just a little harder" and keep me motivated. Guess now its a girl thing too. This academy is worth it.

She provides excellent support and motivation while keeping the workouts upbeat and tailor made to my individual needs. She is really flexible offering group workouts and personal training. I also love that she mixes up the workouts each week often finding an outdoor space to work out when weather permits. She's an excellent trainer and I recommend her to anybody looking for a tough and fun workout!

Really nice gym! My gym was closed for Christmas so I decided to go here and I had an amazing…read moreworkout here! They have a ton of lifting equipment and cardio equipment. The machines are on the older side, but all the ones I used worked very well! Also, the gym was very organized and it seemed like everyone put their weights back after use. The receptionist was also very kind and answered all my questions! Also, their prices are very reasonable. The gym does include parking in their memberships as well, and the parking lot is across the street (it is a municipal parking lot). Amazing gym!
