I also contacted about 3 other companies at the same time. He responded to me first, and quickly. I never even heard back from some of the other places I contacted. He asked me for details on the job, I snapped him some pictures and took some measurements and he had a proposal within a day. The pricing was fantastic. He had the job scheduled very quickly and was great with communication. He came out with his crew on time the day the job was scheduled (actually a little early, which I very much appreciated) and they got right to work. They explained the entire process, including that they would be reseeding our lawn from any parts that were impacted with the job, as well as care directions moving forward to help care for the new concrete. When I tell you watching them work was incredible, I mean it. They worked like a well-oiled machine. Everyone knew exactly what to do and there was no down-time. Our son sat out front and watched them and Chip was so friendly and kind with him. They completed the work exactly on time and it looks wonderful. I'm not sure if other people have had the same experiences with home repairs and contracted work in the last few years as we have, but overall it's been pretty disappointing. Nicholas Concrete restored our faith and I cannot recommend them enough. While we don't hope to need any more work done for awhile, I will only be contacting them if the need arises.

We knew of no concrete contractors, and we wanted someone we could totally trust. A.E. Nicholas Concrete Construction was highly recommended to us, as he was/is known for excellent work and owned his business for over 40 years. We called immediately. Many were good but he seemed to be the best and his reviews and testimonials were outstanding. Fully licensed and insured. More years experience than many crews out there and if you don't his team as well they have many lifetimes worth of experience. Jimmy came out and took measurements and photos to get us a detailed quote with their 100% best price guarantee. He was a nice guy and he made the beginning process easy and worry free. We ended up choosing them for the job. We felt comfortable that they had the best price, quality, and qualifications to handle our job. I can honestly say, Chip the owner, was very pleasant to talk with. He answered any of our questions and made us feel at ease. If there were rain delays in the schedule, Chip would always notify us. Chip works right with his guys, and to say they are amazing is an understatement. Chip and his guys were always prompt when beginning their day. When the job was completed they even reseeded our lawn where needed. That is going above and beyond. I'm not quite sure why ratings only go to 5 stars. We definitely give A.E. Nicholas Concrete Construction a 5 star rating! Only wish we could give them a 10 star rating. Even a 20! We recommend A.E. Nicholas Concrete Construction to anyone that would want the best concrete construction team around! Thank you all again for the excellent work and beautiful driveway! We are beyond happy!

Consummate professionals to the highest degree, I don't think we could have asked for a better outcome to what started off auspiciously. We had originally hired another contractor to complete several jobs at our house including demolishing our old railroad tie retaining wall and rebuilding it with Versa-Lok, a concrete porch extension, general landscaping including grading, and building Versa-Lok raised beds around our house. Said contractor started the job, and left the house in shambles for 3 months, not responding to any of our phone calls and effectively taking our money and running, while demanding we give him more money to break contract. Given it was nearing October and we were concerned about water leakage into our basement with the partly-completed work that had been done, we stated looking for other contractors to complete the job. Tom came out 2 days after we called for an estimate, and he had the estimate back to us 3 days later. Price-wise, Tom was actually the lowest price to complete everything, and it was complete work - other contractors couldn't do everything we needed done. When we hired him, he gave us a start date and deadlines that he was spot on with and was communicative during the whole process. Several days into the job, while working on some of the grading, he noted foundational issues and worked with us to get them fixed by adding a french drain system and retarring our foundation. Tom and his crew were able to get all of the original work done (including removal of the detritus the first contractor left behind, and fix his mistakes) plus the foundational work in a little less than 3 weeks. Everything was awesome - I don't think there is enough I could say about how good of a job Tom and his crew did. The precision, quality, cost, speed, and responsiveness is unbeatable. If you need someone to do concrete work, landscaping, or plumbing, you need to call Tom. He'll give you an honest, fair assessment, and if you hire him, you will not be disappointed.
