It took a little over two and a half days to complete the project that was supposed to take two days but they ran into a unexpected problem. They finished the job and left my place as clean as possible.

They used a pressurized slurry of limestone injected through the concrete to level the slabs across my entire driveway. The diamond ground all of the joints between my house and the driveway and between all of the slabs and sealed it perfectly! The before and after is incredible. It's hard to trust a company that you might find on the internet. I think that we were very lucky that we were able to find Keystone. We improved the value of our property. G&J put a French drain in my home less than two years ago. First off the workmanship was shoddy…read more The interior discharge pipe is just hanging out of the wall with the cement patch job on the interior side of the hole going to the outside being the only thing holding it in place. The cement patch work, interior and exterior, looks like it was done by a two year old. The "kids" who actually did the work were a couple of non-English speakers and someone who looked to be younger than my grandson. Less than two years later there are large cracks in the exterior discharge pipe. This causes the water that collects in the sump pit to just swirl around and go nowhere. This happens to coincide with a period of recurring rain, often heavy, over the past week. Of course the problem happened over the weekend. I emailed them about the problem on Sunday. To their credit, they did reply to the email. On Tuesday they emailed that someone would come between 10-2 PM the forthcoming Friday. In the meantime my wife and I spent the week (including in the middle of the night) bailing water out of the sump pit. Friday comes and I have to take the day off from work to be here when they come. But guess what? Nobody from G&J showed up and nobody from G&J even called. Instead they emailed me at 1:30 in the afternoon to say that most of their crews had called off because of a big storm the previous night (storm???). I blame myself for hiring these people in the first place. Don't make the same mistake. Stay away from G&J Waterproofing.

Being out of state, we used Yelp and read good things. Pricing wise, they were not the cheapest, but there is a reason. FireTec was super communicative on what we are to expect, and super responsive to questions. They called to confirm the day of appointment, and showed up on time, masks on, shoe covers, and armful of floor pads and coverings (more on this later. The tech came and was friendly, respectful of the COVID situation, and careful with our home. Every fireplace they worked on was meticulously prepared and protected to ensure no damage or dirt would get on our floor. During the visit, they even updated me on findings as they went along and also how they were going to charge me less than estimated as certain chimneys did not require the level of inspection requested or originally thought to be needed. At the end, 3 of our gas inserts needed new control modules as the batteries leaked and damaged the units. They showed me the issue and again were transparent on what was needed. Now, I could leave the review as is, but this is what going above call of service means. The tech, bothered with a small finding in the video inspection, called me back after he left asking if he could come back and recheck one of our chimney. I am glad he did, as he discovered that one of our fireplaces was blocked off by previous owner, and it was not safe to be used. Being a father with 2 kids in the house, this is the kind of service expected. FireTec ordered the new gas inserts control modules and called me much earlier than the scheduled appointment asking if I was available to get the gas inserts fixed with the new control modules. Apparently their tech was freed up and available. Fast forward, our fireplaces are clean, inspected for safety, and gas inserts working as expected. And as if that wasn't enough, they send a thank you card. This is how you are customer centric. It's hard, but not impossible!
