We had 5 "smart jacks" installed. Our new home is over 100 years old and we were nervous about jack hammering into the concrete. The cracks in the walls just kept growing and we knew that we had to do something to prevent more damage. The representative, sales person Brian, who came to meet with us for an estimate was very reassuring and informative about what would be done. He said that it was amazing no jacks had been put in previously, the distance between the beams was much too far and the wooden joists were cracking. He provided a comprehensive proposal and was ready to talk with us on the phone before we had the work scheduled to be completed. This was very helpful to calm our worries. The work that was done was, fast, efficient and we are very happy with the result. Chis was our foreman, many thanks to him! I recommend this company very highly. It's hard to trust a company that you might find on the internet. I think that we were very lucky that we were able to find Keystone. We improved the value of our property. Friends and family were uncomfortable with the pricing and it was hard on our budget but the quality and timeliness that Keystone provided was definitely worth what we paid for in my opinion. read more

Had a crack on my foundation they came out looked at it told me they had to put 8 support peers. I gave them $2,200 down payment. They came out and could not dig to the footer of the foundation there escalator was too small in stead of getting a bigger machine they said they couldn't do the job and I would get my deposit back. I'm so upset and they still did not give me my money back every time I call they say the manager will call me of course that don't happen I guess I got to take them to court now. Select another company or hire someone to redo your driveway instead. It'll take 1/4 of the time to schedule, reschedule, and complete the project, and you won't have to deal with all the messes and damage they leave in their wake. While Keystone's sales team does a great job selling their product, the service delivery and scheduling are abysmal. It takes months to schedule, followed by weeks of equipment failures and rescheduling. You'll also be cleaning up stains and messes left behind, reminding them of what has and hasn't been done yet, as well as essential contracted items and processes that were skipped throughout. You can call and discuss the issues with the crew and management, but only if you can actually wade through all their random phone numbers and find someone willing to answer or return your calls. For tens of thousands of dollars, you expect a simple level of service, coordination, and professionalism that doesn't follow through from sales to crew. Try to find someone else who offers a similar service with better reviews and professionalism. After more thorough searches, this seems to be a commonality in the few reviews available for their driveway services. read more

The product itself is working. Unfortunately we changed how the sump pump was going to be placed. We were billed for extra service that we did not receive. It took close to three months to receive the refund. Calls were placed and not returned. Only when we threatened to take them to small claims court did they finally send the reimbursement to me. We were unhappy about the level they drilled so hopefully we have no additional problems. They are great when they receive their money but not so great when you have issues with what they did. Signed up for concrete leveling on April 28th, still waiting for the work to be completed. If you don't possess the patience of Job, get yourself another company. Tim brought with him one of the technicians that would be doing the job. They looked it over (I assumed thoroughly), sold me the job and then left me to wait for it to be scheduled. Finally on June 28th they show up to do the work, 15 minutes later there is a knock at the door to tell me they can't complete the job because of the columns on the porch. WHY did they not determine that the columns would be problematic when they sold me the job? I was told to call them to get rescheduled as soon as I addressed the columns. Turns out, the columns are decorative only, not load bearing so they would have had no effect on the job. I called to let the foreman Daniel know that I was ready to have the work done and he assured me he would put me on the schedule, he didn't. I called the office the following week and was told by customer service that my message would get to Josh, the scheduler. Nothing. However in the interim I found a local family owned business that met with me, quoted and agreed to do the work so I cancelled my appointment with Keystone. To say that they are now stalking me is an understatement. I let them know that I had chosen another company and yet the insist on calling and emailing me multiple times a day after being notified saying "we're sorry you had to cancel let's rebook". Did not follow CDC MANDATE COVID 19 PPE POLICY. Scheduled appointment date for 12/7/2020 no call no show. Much later during the day I answer my door expecting a relative. A strange women greeting me with a HUGE, SMILE practically forcing her way past me as if we were bestie asking how I am, and said that she had many questions for me. Alarming to me, I asked who are you, where is your ID, NAME TAG and why are you in my house? Her reply to me, I sent you a text message she then reached down in attempt to pet my dog as he sat very close to me and without my permission.Again I asked her name and purpose. Her reply OH I am mary Kay from KEYSTONE BASEMENT SYSTEM and I need to ask questions before we get started. I excused myself to put my now excited dog in his crate to calm him from her several attempts to reach at him. After calming him, I turned towards Mary Kay who seemed quite comfortable and secure sitting on my couch gathering paperwork to begin. I noticed she was not wearing her mask, no visible mask present, as I attempted to distant 6 foot away, Mary Kay turned her attention in my direction and started coughing uncontrollably without any attempts to cover or conceal that cough. Horror stricken I immediately stumbled to my feet, reaching for my mask in hysteria screaming OMG, OMG. Mary Kay commented that her coughing was allergies and not COVID. Much to my surprise, again I see no mask or any attempts to retrieve one. Assuming she didn't have a mask, I offered to obliged her with one and now had to verbally insist that she wear one. She reached in her pocket for her mask and applied. Feeling violated I chose to continue on. During the basement assessment I informed and made her aware of the toxic chemicals in designated areas applied by professionals she acknowledged my warning and turned to step in the toxic pile. I informed Mary Kay that the toxins under her shoes now pose a death threat to my dog and to please remove her shoes before re entry through the kitchen. She never apologized, or acknowledge my request as she continue to complete her assignment. Mary attempt to re enter my kitchen ignoring my request and concerns for my dog's safety, I stood in front of her with a bag for her shoes. At this point feeling Aggravated, Insulted, disrespected, violated and Assulted, I chose to review all else outside Mary questioned my decision to continue outside so I questioned her knowledge base about COVID 19 POLICY and reason for violating them. At this point Mary lost her composure screaming out at the top of her voice. " why didn't you have one on when you answered your door, we don't have to wear a mask, I follow what the customer does, if they don't have one on then I don't wear mines. Look lady I am trying to give you a deal, you will not let me finish my job." At this point now feeling Bullied, threatened, I turned and walked away as I instructed her to cancel this bad sale pitch, I will follow up with the owner leaving her to continue screaming out "I don't care, etc etc. At this point I was making my way to the police station to have her arrested if present upon return. Followed up with a detailed report via email to the owner of this company. Aaron Stull whom returned follow up call immediately interrupted the beginning conversation questioning why was I startled when I knew someone was coming, she had her uniform on for identification, why didn't I give them my email address, there was no way to reach me. You should know that all companies have a 2 hour window frame, your time is incorrect and I can prove you wrong because I have the recorded messages that I can pull up for proof. Absolutely no company schedules in half hour increments. Aaron was unable to answer my valid question " can you tell me how Mary was able to text me?" . After the long debate. His closing statements were. I am a fair and equitable person. I do hope you understand that there are 2 sides to every story, I need to hear her side of the story and if this is true then I will take harsh matters but not until I hear her side. And yes we do have a policy, we do not buy into what the media posted CDC guidelines say,, we have a strict formulated policy here and i would be happy to send you for your comfort. In closing this was my nightmare experience from this company. I know understand how behaviors operate from the top to the bottom. All I wanted was to hire a company pay over roughly 15,000 or more to fix a problem . THE END RESULTS PLACED IN QUARANTINE AS A PRECAUTION FROM MARY COUGHING IN MY FACE, AWAITING MY FATE, UNABLE TO SLEEP, POOR APPETITE WITH WORRY AND FEAR THAT I MAY BECOME SYMPTOMATIC NOT TO MENTION I POSE A HIGH RISK DUE TO PRE EXISTING MEDICAL CONDITIONS AS WELL AS AGE. The crew that put piers under our house was in a rush, begining to end spending just under 3 days putting in 13 piers on a very deep foundation in clay and rock soil in poor weather; the 14th and 15th piers they were unable to install. There are also two locations where 2 days afterwards the soil had settled several feet bellow it's original level. Both the sides and the back yard were left very uneven and covered in raised excavator tread marks. On one side wires that need to be covered were left exposed and wires that need to be exposed were covered. They caused property damage to us and both neighbors on either side of us at a distance well beyond how far we were advised to remove our belongings from the site. It took a week from initial complaints to have the job inspected. It took another week to have Keystone come out to fix one of our neighbor's lawn. This second crew was not instructed in what they were there for; I had to explain it. They had to come back at a later time to do the work. Even then they did not bring grass seed as promised by the project manager and did not fully remove the dirt across our property line or fully flatten the area. My husband and I gave up and are repairing their lawn ourselves. Keystone does not seem to have a system for following up or reparations. Very little was communicated to us throughout this whole process without us initiating communications. read more

You leave your name and contact information and they don`t respond back. They want the big jobs but are not interested in service work. Another company I contacted about crumbling concrete in the basement tried to sell me an extensive $17K package, including a French drain and sump pump. The guy from this company was honest and said he'd be glad to sell me a drain for the perimeter and other work, but all I needed was a dehumidifier in the basement. He sold me one that automatically cycles on and off to keep the humidity at a set level. It drains into the pump my furnace uses. And the dehumidifier was less than 10% of the cost for a system I didn't need. It's been in place for several months and the basement doesn't seem damp at all. read more

Keystone Basement Systems installed 8 steel piers below the foundation of my house. My property is on a hillside and is 90 years old. The foundation was sinking on the lower part of the hill. First, I was impressed with the professionalism of the individual who came to do the initial assessment. He was thorough and spent at least 2 hours analyzing the situation, taking measurements, and doing a variety of tests. Second, the owner (a structural engineer) came to the property prior to the company starting work to check the initial assessment. Finally, the quality of the workers and the work they performed was amazing. They did everything exactly as was described to me in the initial assessment. They encountered numerous setbacks due to the poor conditions of my foundation, and I was worried about what these would mean for the end stage of the work. However, they dealt with everything and completed the job. I did not read the other reviews, but I cannot understand why this company only has three stars. During both the initial assessment and the owner's assessment, they were upfront and transparent about the goal (stabilizing the foundation) and the limits of what could be accomplished. I was provided with everything in writing. The workers were great. They had complete access to my house and there was no evidence of them accessing any of the premise unless it was needed for the job. I would highly recommend Keystone Basement Systems. I didn't actually go with them for my French drain system. Part of it was that their quote was astronomical compared to others I got. After the salesman came out to survey the issue, he said straight up that they were owned by a parent company who make some proprietary drain tube, and then he wasted an hour of my time talking about that product. It was clear that they just want to push this expensive product and don't actually care about meeting your needs. Keystone might do a fine job (I'll never know), but they're only interested in your money to push their parent company's product. The company I went with were $5000 less for the same service, they used high quality materials, and they were respectful of my needs. Don't let Keystone waste your time or money. read more

I wanted to wait until the system was up and running for a month before submitting a review. We had an annoying amount of water coming into our basement and garage after every rain event. I called multiple companies to provide quotes, and Keystone was recommended by a neighbor. Brian came to our house to an in-person inspection, was extremely professional, and quickly provided us with an estimate that was slightly less than the other companies, but for a much higher quality product. I've only had my basement waterproofed for about 2 months now so I can't really comment on the sustainability of the work done but I can certainly comment on the service we (didn't) receive. Everything seemed to be going along very well, our field agent was really nice and we placed our confidence in this company without going out for other bids. They worked with us on the pricing. We received our first bill and my husband and I were confused with the monthly payments etc. I emailed our field agent about it and heard nothing for 3 days. I decided to give him a call to make sure he got my email. He said he had and that he was working on it.. he even went as far as to say "I just talked to my guy about 2 hours ago and it's in the works"... because I had no prior issues I felt confident that my questions were being worked on. It went another 2 or 3 days and I hadn't heard anything back so I again emailed my field agent with no response. Yet again, I sent another email about a week later... no response. We were certainly getting antsy to have our bill explained as our first payment was coming up - we didn't want to be late but we didn't want to pay it if the bill was incorrect. After many unanswered emails, I called Keystone and asked for the owner. Like most owners, he was unavailable so I left him a message. I gave that 2 days with no return call. I called Keystone again asking for the operations manager who wasn't available so I left another message. Yet again, no return call. This phase repeated itself 3 or 4 times. I had a simple question and couldn't get ANYONE at Keystone to contact me to help me understand my bill. I turned them into the BBB and am still waiting to see the outcome. I get more respect from McDonald's when my $5 order is wrong than I did spending over $8500 with this company. Stay away!!!! I can't image what's going to happen if something happens in my basement and I actually NEED someone to come out to repair it. **Update** As you can tell in Aarons response to my review, they aren't addressing the concern, they keep going back to the financing. The review was in relation to the fact that no one told us to contact GE because no one would call us back from Keystone. I would have been happy to contact GE if someone would have told us to. Description of the job: Keystone installed carbon fiber / epoxy foundation wall reinforcement straps on the walls of two adjacent properties. For one property they also demolished a poor condition finished wall. Prior to this work, two evaluation technicians visited the properties to provide observation and planning info. Throughout the process Keystone was available and helpful when responding to questions and changes in my intent and availability dates for the installation. Summary of their work: It went very well. A multi person team arrived promptly on the day of the installation. The guys were friendly, clean, and professional. The amount of time taken for the work and their cleanup/ footprint was very impressive. The foreman was responsive to calls before installation day and questions on the day of. Overall I was very pleased with all of the team members that I interacted with. They were very available over the phone and in person on occasion. I would suggest a few things upfront, 1. if you are looking for a structural engineering evaluation of the home, I'd suggest going that route before contacting Keystone. 2. I wouldn't skew their first impression by setting the context of work you think needs done.. let them come, make observation and then determine a path for the work. Josh E was very responsive and followed through. The best part of this kind of work is the front end of the sale - but in this case the work was amazing. Three professional workers - lead by Josh #2 worked SO HARD - in hot conditions and even through rain and kept a smile on their faces and addressed all my little worries along the way very knowledgeabley and professionally. I cannot address the waterproofing aspect of the work performed by keystone basement waterproofing as it was installed a few days ago, but the sales tactics and communication of this company are just terrible. The sales representative arrived late due to traffic issues, (not his fault). He spent quite some time looking at our property, which if it wasn't early evening may have been a good thing but in this case it wasn't. And then kind of pressured us that we would not get some promo discount if we didn't decide right then. On top of that, he did not explain the payment options well enough and in the end did not understand our intentions of how we wanted to pay. There was no communication about the scheduled job until I called keystone the night before. The workers got the job done in 9 hours and didn't leave the house a mess. That seemed to be good at least, so there is your three stars. I will update the waterproofing aspect once it rains again. Once the job was completed the misunderstanding of how we were to pay became a fiasco. In the end, this whole transaction has left a bad taste in my mouth. The high pressure sales and poor communication make me recommend that you keep shopping around. read more

I hired keystone basement to prevent water from getting into the basement of our rental property. On New Year's Eve our tenant came home to a flooded basement. I called the owner josh and never heard from him until he called looking for his final payment two weeks later. My husband and I spent our New Year's Eve moving building materials we had stored in the basement and pushing water out of the room. He sent someone over but never contacted me, never addressed the damaged materials and never did anything to dry out the wet basement. When I told him I want reimbursement for the new carpet that got damaged he told me I had to get the money from someone named Wes. I have no idea who this Wes is nor do I have a contract with anyone named Wes. This company has no idea of what customer service is nor do they care. read more

Contracted Keystone for repairs to a structure in an estate. Looked at multiple vendors and suppliers and educated myself both on line and through questioning the suppliers. This project was a bit unusual for carbon fiber, but Keystone worked through my concerns and supplied a letter from the P.E. at the manufacturer specific to my questions. We resolved all concerns and I have to say the wall looks solid and the basement hasn't been this dry in years. read more

What was supposed to be an interior French Drain installation resulted in my entire basement being gutted and Keystone leaving a huge mess for me to clean up! Their "crew" which was a subcontractor, arrived at the established time scheduled by the company the day before. I remember feeling optimistic that morning that I had made the right choice. My confidence quickly deteriorated as the day progressed. My walls were ripped open and the studs behind the drywall cut. One of my outlet wires were cut but the reciprocating saw that was used which caused a huge arc and my breaker tripping. After the worker repaired his damage with a piece of electrical tape they began destroying the grid for my drop ceiling. Instead of removing the sections, they were bent and ripped out! When I asked why they were damaging the ceiling, the reply was they don't take the time to disassemble and if that's what I wanted I would have to pay an addition 10 labor hours at $150.00 per hour! They said that they just gut the area in question. Apparently, the almost $10,000 I SPENT WAS NOT ENOUGH. When they opened up my ceramic tile floor in the bathroom, the trench that was dug did not turn the corner. This was explained was necessary because corners typically leak first. The net result of this blunder was my bathroom floor covered in water after the next storm. Almost a month later their "service" crew came out and repaired the poor job done by the first crew. At lunchtime, I purchased a few pizzas for the guys because I hoped that my gesture would somehow persuade the guys to show more care in my home. That gesture was met with cement mixing done in my lawn (as well as the cleaning of their mixing troughs) which turned my lawn cement gray in sections! The icing on the cake for me was the dumpster bag this company offers as a service. They charge $350.00 for something that Home Depot charges $30.00 for! Waste Management charges an additional $150.00 to retrieve. So they basically double the cost to make the phone call on your behalf. BEWARE! Pictures don't lie. In conclusion, I have subsequently found a myriad of other companies out there at half the cost. Keystone preaches quality but it was not my experience. The project coordinator Josh was an arrogant and ignorant individual, quick to argue and make excuses for why I was wrong. He obviously does not understand that the customer is always right. At one point I simply just came to the realization that I was dealing with a petulant child and reasoning with him was not going to work. My final criticism of this companies "crew" would be the scattered Marlboro cigarette butts scattered all over my driveway. The crew leader was a benighted chain-smoking and energy guzzling individual. In conclusion, the methodology and ethics of this company are CONGRUENT with that of a far less sophisticated operation. The initial install, using a sub-contractor had issues but was ultimately completed OK. The system recently seems to have quit working although the pumps are fine. When I called to get someone to come out and check the system I got the run around for weeks and finally gave up. A simple request for service for which i was totally willing to pay. There have to be better options out there. I'm off to find one. read more
