Hired Pristine Exteriors to do 15 house windows, its frame (the entire window) and got an estimate from Jay Hughes. Reasonable. He spent about five hours and did an outstanding job. He got his work ethic from his time in the Marine Corps and those core values by the grandparents that raised him. I can't say enough and am completing every review this baby boomer can figure out.

I have to start this review by stating I normally only write positive reviews for deserving people…read moreand businesses and would not normally leave a poor review which could adversely affect a business which potentially was simply having an off day. This is not the case with Jeff Kunkle and Pristine Home Exteriors. This needs to be shared in hopes of preventing others from making the same mistake. I hired Jeff Kunkle and Pristine Home Exteriors in April 2024 to address a leaking roof and water damage on the front of my house. Work began in May and continued for months. Although the work itself was sloppy on the finishes- "Pristine" is an incredible misnomer!- and Jeff often did not respond to calls or show up when he said he would, for the most part, the work was being completed and the leaks had stopped. This began to change when the invoices were mostly paid. When that happened, calls/texts were left unanswered and days on-site became few and far between. What's more troubling is the issue with the windows. I was told I needed new windows, at a cost of over $7,000 for both the windows and installation. Initially, I was informed that the windows would take 10 weeks to arrive, which seemed odd but not concerning at the time. After the wait,I was told the windows had arrived in the wrong color and could not be painted without voiding the warranty. Then, the story changed again: I was told the windows were never actually ordered, and that an employee of Jeff's had left town with the money. The inconsistencies in these stories grew more unbelievable over time. Furthermore, it turns out that the windows were never even necessary, and Jeff now admits he owes me a refund for this, which I'm sure I'll never see. We were left without repayment, an unfinished front of house, and unfinished roof ledge and owed money for the windows which never arrived. I have similarly left feedback with the Better Business Bureau and will pursue small claims court to recover my losses. Please stay far away from Jeff Kunkle, Pristine Home Exteriors or whatever business is subsequently spun up when this one is bankrupted.

We hired Mr. Contractor to completely renovate the kitchen and primary bathroom in our 130-year-old…read morePhiladelphia home, and we're thrilled with how everything turned out. When we were choosing a contractor, Mr. Contractor's Yelp rating gave me some hesitation - especially given the high ratings elsewhere. But when I read the reviews themselves rather than just looking at the overall rating, many of the complaints seemed to involve relatively small jobs. We needed someone for a large, complicated renovation of a very old house, and the experience and capabilities Ken demonstrated seemed much better suited to that kind of project. Having now completed the job, I'm very glad we made that distinction. This was a big project, and our old house threw plenty of surprises at us. Once the demo began, our engineer found that part of the kitchen needed to be structurally rebuilt from the foundation up. That meant coordinating with our architect and structural engineer and substantially expanded the work. Despite that and the many twists and turns that followed, Ken and his crew kept things moving and completed an extraordinary amount of work in just 10 weeks. What really stood out was the crew. These guys were craftsmen who took genuine pride in what they were building. More than once, they spent extra time on something simply to get the finished result just right or recommended enhancements that were not charged. A friend who is a high-end interior designer saw the kitchen afterward and was impressed by the quality of the construction and attention to detail. We also lived in the house throughout the renovation. The crew was friendly and respectful, and they cleaned up the work areas at the end of every day -- something we came to appreciate enormously during 10 weeks of construction. Was every little detail perfect the first time? No. But that's actually part of why I'm comfortable giving Ken five stars. When something wasn't right, he worked to make it right. He and his team stayed engaged through the end of the project, addressed our punch-list items, and have continued to stand behind their work afterward. And we LOVE the result. The kitchen has completely changed the way we live in the house. It has become the place where our family naturally gathers, and it's as comfortable and functional to cook in as it is beautiful. The new bathroom has been equally transformative. At the beginning, I worried that we might be spending too much on the project - and it was significant. But by the end, having seen the amount of work involved and the quality and care that went into it, I felt exactly the opposite: we received very good value for our money. My takeaway is that Ken's particular strength is a substantial, complex project where you need an experienced GC who can keep multiple trades moving, deal with unexpected conditions, solve problems as they arise, and see the whole thing through. Renovating a 130-year-old house isn't easy, and I'd much rather have a contractor who knows how to deal with the inevitable problems and stands behind the finished product. We'd happily hire Ken and Mr. Contractor again.

Instead these guys come out and fix the existing downspout and paint it and get paint on my deck, which was professionally stripped, sanded and restrained a couple months ago. The texture is different from the rest of the downspout and also the part of the downspout below the deck has dirt in the creases and anyone can see it is not new. This company is irresponsible. I had a new roof installed by them which requires regular maintenance to not void the warranty. If not for that I would no longer do business with this company. I hired Munz Roofing and Siding to complete a siding project, and I could not be happier with the entire experience. From the start, their consultant, Stephen M., came out and provided helpful education, a thorough walkthrough, zero pressure, and a timely quote for several different product options. Munz ultimately provided the best quote among the three local companies that came out. Eric G., their general manager, also came out to review the plan and clearly outlined the steps they would take to protect our garden beds during the siding removal and installation. That level of communication and attention to detail gave us a lot of confidence going into the project. Project Manager Chris and installer Oleg then completed the project in 9.5 days, which was even half a day ahead of their original 10-day estimate. Chris checked in every day to see if we had any questions or concerns, and Oleg's work was outstanding. His craftsmanship and attention to detail were top notch, and he spent at least a half hour cleaning up every day before leaving. One thing that really stood out was that Oleg took the time to point out how well the previous siding job had been done when the house was built about 40 years ago. He noted that the original wrapping had been applied with meticulous precision, which helped explain why there was minimal water damage to the existing boards. That honesty was appreciated, especially because there was never a moment where the crew attempted to upsell us on unnecessary work. Overall, Munz was professional, honest, communicative, and highly skilled from start to finish. I could not recommend this company enough. Five stars, and if you can, request Chris and Oleg by name as your crew.
