As you can tell by its name, Golden Square is basically a large, indoor "Square" of shops, with 135 shops in total according to their website, all over one floor. I dislike the approach of it all being over one floor, being used to seeing shopping centers on multiple floors, which also allows room for more shops, but Warrington's Golden Square also has a few stores in an outside square to it, which is also quite nice including Rhode Island Coffee and a Post Office, which is a nice area. The Shopping Center as I said is quite nice, both inside and out with a good range of shops, including WHSmtih, EE, Starbucks CEX, JD, 3, Waterstones and Vision Express, just to name a few. Due to the shape of the mall, it is quite easy to navigate around. This mall is quite nice for a small town and although it isn't somewhere I'd recommenced you constantly go out of your way to go here, it is well worth a look in if you are in the area as it is a nice shopping center, with a good range of shops and is great for a small town like Warrington, hence a solid 3 star rating.

I went recently a few days before Christmas and it wasn't too busy - nothing like shopping centres like Arndale Centre or Trafford Centre (actually never normally go to Trafford Centre but especially near Christmas but I think I can safely say its crazy busy!) Didn't stay too long but went to Boots and also went to Debenhams for some food - which was actually pretty good. There is multi storey car parking but unfortunately it is not free. For under an hour, its £1. It goes up to £5.50 if you are more than 4 hours. Between 2-4 hours is £2.20 which is not too bad I guess.

Its a pity about having to pay parking fees to go and buy something from Argos or Staples etc.. maybe Argos should consider doing ticket stamping like Asda do.. but make it 'within 10 minutes of stamping' instead of Asdas 2 hours. Asda make a lot of money out of people going in to buy £5 worth of shopping to get their ticket stamped .. most people stay longer and buy far more shopping. haha ;-) Needs more parent and toddler parking spaces too!!!

Cockhedge Shopping center is a shopping center in Warrington town center, to use my Manchester City…read moreterminology, it is a bit like the Brian Kidd of Warrington, the Assistant, the deputy, I'm sure many people will agree that this is "the second" shopping center in Warrington, due to its size and number of shops in comparison to the larger Golden Square. I'm going to start with the parking situation which was a bit poor, they is an entrance here with a sort of pay station on your way in and out, on my visit it wasn't manned and the shutters were up to just come in and out as you please. They was a parking sign which looked pretty old and suggested Cockhedge did not actually own the car park, and the prices looked rather expensive too and they contradicted the sign in the window that mentioned Cockhedge had 2 hours free parking. I found this to be rather misleading as they were 2 different parking prices, they really do need to get rid of one sign, as it will confuse most people, especially people (like myself) who are not from Warrington. They is only a few shops here, and most of them seem to be your typical discount stores, such as Wilko, Pound world and B & M, Gala also have a large bingo hall here, Greggs, Argos and Superdrug finish off the list of big names here, which just proves they isn't a lot here and it isn't really worth taking the trip in, unless you do need to go to ASDA. This shopping center didn't have a good atmosphere to it too, with lots of small shops, some with probably are very local stores, and mainly discounters, which made me feel like I was in a market as well, and with music playing and it being very quiet, It just didn't feel like a city center at all, and felt worse than that. When considering the lack of shops and parking situation, I wouldn't bother going out of the way to come here unless you do need to go to Asda, as it is in general sadly a very poor shopping mall, and probably the stores here would be better transferring into the newer, larger Golden Square or on the street level.

However much like Wigan we found this store quite small in comparison to some of the others we've visited in places like Liverpool, Manchester and Blackpool. Happily for me neither found anything they hadn't already seen in other branches so my wallet remained unopened and intact. If you're in Warrington then have a look but if you really want the full Primani experience then head for Liverpool or Manchester instead.

I did find a lack of lighting and a dead atmosphere around the retail park, making it feel slightly run-down, especially compared to JunctionNINE and Gemini Retail Parks, which seem to offer a better selection of stores in the same town. There are only two hours of free parking here, and you will be fined if you overstay that welcome, so do tread accordingly, two hours is more than enough time as there isn't a lot of things to do here anymore, but those looking to spend any significant length of time in McDonald's and then one or two shops, may feel rushed. There always seem to be plenty of car parking spaces here though. 2* - Only useful for a handful of stores, which would probably be better located in the town centre's other retail parks, seems like an unnecessary burden to have this additional one that doesn't offer a great deal to the town.

Well I had to go and investigate, it was my duty as a women and I was pleasantly surprised. They had a good mix of clothing, from the smarter/dressier range to more casual and everything seemed to be on a par with the fashions coming out. I was impressed with the quality and feel of the garments as you know sometimes they can feel cheap and nasty. Ok prices aren't dirt cheap but they are more reasonable than I expected and seems in comparison with the other fashion stores. I liked the fact that some stuff in there was a bit different and quirky, always guaranteed to get my attention. My only criticism was that the shop feels quite small and pokey to get around and when I was in there; there were only another couple of people shopping so I have no idea on how mad it could get at a weekend.

Deary me…read more.. this place hasn't got much better since the 80's! I feel sorry for people having this as their main shopping centre. sort it out Runcorn! Sorry my review cant be any more detailed but there is little that can be said about this place.. thankfully I don't have to use it and have only had to pass through it on rare occasions.

The Largest stores are a Tesco Metro and a Wilkinsons. They also host and Argos, Burtons/DP and a couple of phone shops to add to the pound stores and bargain stores. In addition there is an Iceland and Farmfoods to add to the food shopping ability of the centre. There are a lot of empty units which makes this place rather depressing. To be fair the best part about the place is that there is plenty of parking and the exit into the Triton business park outside.

Its hard to actually find many furniture stores these days, everything seems to be from flat pack…read moremdf however Branches of Warrington is bucking this trend by offering real wood furniture. Based on Wilderspool Causeway with its own parking, its worth stopping off if you're looking for something that's going to last. They tend to stock different wood furniture from oak to pine, and some others, as well as different styles and pieces from bedroom to living room, to dining room. We've had lots from there and the quality is excellent, worth the price as pieces last for years. They also do some giftware and artwork so you can always pick up something nice and unusual to decorate the house with. The staff are nice and friendly and know the products so can help with any questions or enquiries you might have.

Birchwood shopping centre is in dire need of a facelift, it's run down and often looks in need of a…read moregood clean. However it is convenient for the local area, inside is an Asda and Iceland aswell as some chain stores such as New Look and Argos. Parking is free and there is plenty of it, making it easy to come here. The shops tend to be the cheaper end of the high street stores, newsagents, charity and sports shops. At Christmas they often have a small grotto and a Santa which is nice for the children. Birchwood shopping centre is probably not somewhere you would go Saturday shopping, the range of shops is just too small but it is nice to have a quick look around the shops if you are going to one of the supermarkets anyway.

Much better instead to drive to Birchwood Station, fairly close to the M62, park there (the car park always seems to have spaces to spare), and then catch one of the frequent trains to Liverpool: problem solved. Birchwood station itself is small but clean and tidy, with good signage and information about departures. The ticket office doesn't seem to be manned very often but the ticket machines (once you've mastered them) do the job. All in all: a good place.

The tesco staff who was on the door came over and they was going to ban me from going into the store this was really unprofessional and the lady should of checked her cctv footage before going to ban new customers I would keep away from this store. The lady also block me in from picking items up on the shelf and the male guy laughed we had to go to the police station. I was really worried. Parking is good... but I once visited of a late night.. pouring with rain with little children.. empty car park except for the 'family' spaces all full.. which of course were not ALL taken by families with kids at 10pm! ( we had to run out to get nappies on the way back from a holiday away ..hence late visit to tescos ) We parked as close to the store front as possible so the kids didn't get drenched by the rain.. on our return 10 mins later we had a parking ticket for being in a disabled spot ( TOTALLY EMPTY CAR PARK!! ) .. very annoying.. guess they didn't ticket the people that pretended to have babies with them? Tesco refused to help us in the matter... swapped to Asda after that.

Inside the store is a little cramped, but that is because there are so many bargains to be had. This is the perfect place to shop for cheap costume jewellery, lovely little knick knacks and stocking fillers for girls. My daughter recently had her ears pierced at this store, and the staff were fantastic. They were very caring as well as very professional and I was very impressed. There are always lots of offers on aswell such as money of or 3 for 2 so well worth a visit!

Going in here with my teenage neice made me notice a few things…read more Great stock for teens etc but sadly most things quite over priced except for the cheap tatt (plastic earrings). Good to go in when sales are on but they only sale their unwanted stock like most shops do. Hair bands/alice bands are way over priced compared to some other shops sadly. A lot of stock and shelves/accessorie holders in a small area, feels like you will knock something off as you walk round wiht a bag. Also you feel like you are being looked at for shop lifting at every move you make. I know these stores suffer badly from theft but making people feel guilty doesnt aid sales.
