The Metquarter is a small shopping mall which is mainly targeted towards fashion fanatics so if you love brand names, then this is the place for you. Prices are generally high-end and it is not a place where you would typically go to do your weekend shopping. The mall consists of mainly clothes shops, jewellery stores and several cafes. There is a lower and upper floor where you can access via escalator or lift and public seats where you can take a rest bite or read a newspaper. In terms of the layout, it is fairly attractive to the eye and has a clean, bright and fresh look to it. It's a fine area to relax with comfortable seats, spacious surroundings and soothing music but I would not go here to shop. read more

Pre-Liverpool ONE this was the only place to be seen, you couldn't tread the polished marble floors without running into three or four footballers or try on a jacket without eight or nine Hollyoaks starlets checking their makeup and/or hair in the mirror behind you. Housing clothing stores including Levis Store, a branch of high-end boutique Flannels, Armani Exchange (where despite the name they won't let you swap your old electrical appliances or board games with pieces missing for Armani clothing) and makeup and beauty outlets from the likes of Jo Malone and the uber-popular MAC. It's a nice distraction for an hour or so but in truth there is little here I (or I suspect most people on any sort of a budget) could really afford to buy here. There is also an abject lack of anywhere to get a decent bite to eat - there is a Costa coffee, but I object to paying £4+ for a toasted sandwich -which seems like a missed opportunity as a branch of Pizza Express or Est Est Est would do a roaring trade here. Have a wander round though and start making lists of stuff you're going to buy when that big lottery win/mindblowing invention/career in organised crime comes off. read more

I'm sorry to say I think Metquarter is naf. The building itself is hideous- just a huge concrete block to navigate around on your way to better shops, affordable cafes or the train home. It's rubbish, and other than using the, albeit very fancy, toilets or the cash machine (which I have now given up on, it is always empty and should just be called "machine") I never have any need to go in here. Once upon a time I visited Costa Coffee around once a month with various people, but the novelty just wore off; the comfy sofas disappeared, the shoppers dwindled and I realised it was just Costa in a pretty skanty precinct, yes, it's better looking than St John's, but it's so overrated. Thumbs down. I could think of lots of better things the developer's money could have been spent on in Liverpool.. One highlight I saw Janice Dickinson filming in here once, and attained front ow seats to a catwalk show quite by accident. Most of the time though, it's boring. read more

The Met Quarter is another of Liverpool's many small shopping centres and is located opposite the tourism information centre 08 place and I believe these two work in harmony with one another. The aesthetics of the place are very nice both outside and in, this is important as you want to feel both relaxed and confident in the places you intend to spend your hard earned cash. This place is a little off the centre of town and as such is a tiny bit quieter which is also a good thing as you can peruse the stores in relative peace and harmony. The staff here are great and very attentive in all of the stores within and as such you just get a really nice shopping experience. This place feels a bit upmarket and can be a tad pricey but it is generally worth the extra cash. On the whole a pleasant centre with a nice feel and good staff. read more

Its very trendy and the place to go if you want something fab to were to go out that night.The clothes here are all high fashion so dont go looking for a bargain becaue u will be there a long time. It's a pleasure to walk round the Met, take your purse with you as you wont find Primark in here. haha Slightly more up market stores which of course bring a higher price tag. It feels clean and airy, its a nice change to wandering round the likes of St Johns. The toilets here are beautifully clean. Always a pleasure to have a pee here, the cleaner deserves a medal as its polished enough to see your reflection on the toilet roll holders. :-P Though I do think that it could be down to less people trawling in and out of the toilets like in a more commonly used shopping centre, so less likely to get 'misused' . some lovely things to buy if you have a bit of cash and good taste. read more

If you are watching the pennies leave your credit cards at home as there are lots of designer labels in the Met Quarter. The Met Quarter was finally opened relatively recently after years of stopping and starting of building works. Who was the place built for? The capital of culture? The WAGs of the city? Who can say, apart from the fact that whoever they were they need a lot of money to shop here. This place is full of designer wear and meets the needs of the 'higher end' of clientèle. Certainly if you like your labels and turn your nose up at TJ Hughes then this is no doubt the place for you. The Diesel shop is very good, I have to say, at least. read more

The Met Quarter sounds like a pretty cool retail and leisure development but quarter or not I was wholly disappointed its just another shopping parade -the forth largest in the city. The quarter building used to be Liverpool's central Post Office but £100 million later and here we are. Their slogan "be different" doest really apply to some of the brands that are simply everywhere such as Café Rouge, Costa, Paperchase, Vidal Sassoon and a bucket load of jeans brands. That said there are enough unusual quality labels to make this place worth a visit. Its been compared to Bond Street in London and I don't shop there either. You will be pleased to know they have a Facebook page with 3 fans so there is quite a buzz about this place. read more

Very nice, modern shopping centre. It's arrival brought a breath of fresh air to Liverpool, which has been continued with the advent of Liverpool 1. The Met Quarter is very luxurious, feels very new and expensive. It's only a smallish centre, with mainly top-end brand stores such as Whistles and Armani Exchange. There's also a Paperchase which is a great place for cards and stationery - a nice change from popping into Clintons or Birthdays! A Costa Coffee and a nice Cafe Rouge make this a nice place to pop in and visit, even if you aren't a fan of expensive shops. Grab a coffee and enjoy the ambience! read more

The Met Quarter certainly doesn't cater for all types of people in Liverpool. Basically, if you have money you can shop here. If you don't, you could wait for the sales and try and bag yourself a designer label at a knock down price or don't shop here at all. I far prefer the clothes on the high street so not shopping here is no loss to me! read more

Most of the complaints here are to do with the expense, but i like the met quarter. I think it is a good thing for Liverpool really because before there were never really many upmarket shops, you would have had to go into Manchester for that. I like the paperchase in there, and also the mac make up shop and kurt geiger shoes (but only when there's a sale on haha). It's lovely, clean and peaceful too! read more

I like Met Quarter. It has a nice array of high end fashion stores (that I'm sure Grosvenor would have loved to have put in Liverpool One but got beaten to it). Only criticisms I have are that it needs a better anchor store than Flannels and it could do with some more lifestyle stores selling things other than fashion. The Met Quarter is a fashionable place full of designer brands and cafes. It is always full of people shopping and the staff in the shops are very friendly. It has a reputation for being one of Liverpool's most new and modern refurbished building, and is very nice inside too. It was home to many lamb bananas when they were around, and the shops all have fashionable clothes. If you can afford the designers, this would defiantly be the place for you, however, the wide range of shops lets you buy without having all the money in the world to spend! read more

This si the place to go if you want the posh shops! When it first opened I was very surprised that some of the shops there would have come to Liverpool but they are obviously making enough money to make it worth their while. I have to be honest and say I don't go in to buy anyhing very often as it's beyond my price range but I often pop in for a cup of coffee and it's a really nice palce to sit and watch the world go by. It has got a paperchase and another stationer's which I will happily browse around, plus whitles, fossil phase eight etc. Nice for a browse, even if you can't afford it! read more

This shopping centre opened before Liverpool One, so it was the only mall type place we had until Liverpool One opened in 2008. It is mainly high-end shops and boutiques, so actually a departure from the rest of the shops on Church Street (the high street in Liverpool), and apart from All Saints, which now also exists in Liverpool One, it's a set of one-offs as in you won't find these shops elsewhere in Liverpool. You can find restaraunts here such as Cafe Rouge and Hamiltons as well as the obligatory coffee shops (Costa and a smaller Hamiltons). Shops include Diesel, All Saints, DKNY Jeans, Hobbs and MAC. There are also more unique places such as Parchment(a gift shop which does cards and nice jewellery). It's worth checking out. read more

I have only visited on a couple of occasions mainly when it first opened but although I find the Met Quarter to be a very modern, light and luxurious mall it appears to be full of nothing but expensive designer shops which would certainly limit the type of shoppers to those who have lots of money and/or plastic - sadly I'm not one of these. However there are the January sales on at the moment so I guess you probably could grab a designer bargain or two or would be a place to look for an outfit for a special occasion like a wedding.
