Big store; excellent choice. The staff however are not helpful, and do not help bags to be packed etc. Food was thrown through the till!

Pros - large, well stocked, big car park…read more Cons - the toilets have never been clean and tidy on any of my visits there! usually a mix of these problems - broken locks, loo paper on the floor. No soap in dispensers, wet floor. It feels grubby using the loo sometimes here.. and the irony is that the loos have a dispenser to clean the loo seat before using it.. the dispenser was empty every time I have been! I don't come to this Asda often as it isn't my local one. Its a shame that the toilets let it down. My last visit was a Sunday morning, the shop wasn't that busy and hadn't been open long, but the loo was still grubby looking. Don't they get cleaned on a saturday night/Sunday pre opening time? Or maybe a heard of inconsiderate rhinos went to the loo before I did that morning .. :-) Shop good - Toilet not good :-)

A good example of how large supermarkets can get most things right. The carpark is enormous and…read morefree, the trolleys require a pound coin (or token) so they aren't scattered all around the area and the choices in the store are vast and well set out. The star lost is because they never seem to have enough staff on the tills, but you are continually trying to keep out of the way of the stock checkers and shelf stackers. It's a shame they don't do the same as Sainsburys and pay staff to stack shelves overnight. They currently have huge Christmas displays and offers on - visible as soon as you get through the doors! They also stock a good selection of ale-in-a-bottle (cans are for beans!), currently most of the Cain's and Holt's ranges.

This is a regular stop when we go for a big shop, i.e. to stock up freezers and shelves. As…read moreprevious reviewer has said, when you get to the till, it is a pleasant surprise to see the total. They stock a lot more foodstuffs than I expected and all at incredibly low prices. The carpark is rarely full and is right next to the shop, so is ideal for the less mobile (like my wife!)It is worth remembering that the trollies are £1 coin to use (or token, if you're lucky enough to have any) as katiecoodle states. She also mentioned the (still) free carrier bags. This cannot be overstressed as they are strong enough for the shopping from Farmfoods not always easy, as a lot of the frozen stuff is bulky and heavy; there is nothing worse than all your shopping bursting out of the bag as you get to your car! I fully intend to shop here in the week before Christmas to ensure we don't run out of any essentials (or choc-ices and similar treats!) We may even get some of our Christmas booze from here.

Farmfoods is great for cheap grub. Particularly freezer food, but oddly enough for staples like…read morebread and eggs too. It devotes far too much space for sweets and icecreams in my opinion but then again, its worth a visit if you're planning a kids party! There's a very handy carpark right outside and their carrier bags (free still at the moment!) are really strong. Occasionally in the free local paper they offer coupons which entice me to shop there and I am always amazed at the total at the tills, its never as much as I think its going to be. I do have a really big problem with this store though which just won't go away from my head! When my daughter was potty training, she peed on the floor in here and I found a staff member and explained it to her, but she didn't do anything!!! I wonder how much toddler wee was walked around the store that day. Somehow it doesn't make the stores produce very appetising does it??? Even if it is cheap! Oh - and one other thing - despite the car park being very handy, they operate a £1 for a trolley system which is dead annoying cos there's no cashpoint nearby so if you are planning on using your card to shop, make sure you have a £1 handy!
