One of the biggest carparks in the area, free for two hours and regularly patrolled, two ATM's before you go into the store open 24 hours, a petrol station with the lowest prices around and then the biggest supermarket with the best choices! Admittedly some of the prices are higher than other shops, but perfection doesn't go with shops anyway, in my view. Of course, its prime positive point is that you can finish all your shopping and walk over the road to the best pub around (the Ring O' Bells) or am I biased?

Small electrical department. Good for Bargains after 8pm. They close the fish counter early so I've stopped going for fresh fish for summer barbecues.

Not been here for awhile. Visited parents for few days and went to this Morrisons. It's got a new…read morevegetable and fruit section. All laid out of ice beds and selection of all sorts of usual vegetables. Information boards to explain what different veg is. Rest of supermarket is same as always has been. Morrisons does seem to have a better meat section. I can get cuts of meat I can't get elsewhere.

They stock a lot more foodstuffs than I expected and all at incredibly low prices. The carpark is rarely full and is right next to the shop, so is ideal for the less mobile (like my wife!)It is worth remembering that the trollies are £1 coin to use (or token, if you're lucky enough to have any) as katiecoodle states. She also mentioned the (still) free carrier bags. This cannot be overstressed as they are strong enough for the shopping from Farmfoods not always easy, as a lot of the frozen stuff is bulky and heavy; there is nothing worse than all your shopping bursting out of the bag as you get to your car! I fully intend to shop here in the week before Christmas to ensure we don't run out of any essentials (or choc-ices and similar treats!) We may even get some of our Christmas booze from here.

Farmfoods is great for cheap grub. Particularly freezer food, but oddly enough for staples like…read morebread and eggs too. It devotes far too much space for sweets and icecreams in my opinion but then again, its worth a visit if you're planning a kids party! There's a very handy carpark right outside and their carrier bags (free still at the moment!) are really strong. Occasionally in the free local paper they offer coupons which entice me to shop there and I am always amazed at the total at the tills, its never as much as I think its going to be. I do have a really big problem with this store though which just won't go away from my head! When my daughter was potty training, she peed on the floor in here and I found a staff member and explained it to her, but she didn't do anything!!! I wonder how much toddler wee was walked around the store that day. Somehow it doesn't make the stores produce very appetising does it??? Even if it is cheap! Oh - and one other thing - despite the car park being very handy, they operate a £1 for a trolley system which is dead annoying cos there's no cashpoint nearby so if you are planning on using your card to shop, make sure you have a £1 handy!

I visited Lidl for the first time last week in an attempt to see if I could save some pennies on my…read morenormal weekly shop. The result was that it is possible but you have to hunt hard, I found many of the items to be the same prices as larger supermarkets such as Morrisons but other items admittedly were considerably cheaper. However there is a severe lack of choice and many of the things I would have bought at a larger supermarket simply weren't stocked at all meaning that I had to finish my shopping elsewhere. The aisles were crowded and there were unpacking boxes left out making it hard to get at some items, there were also long queues at the tills. I would recommend buying your fresh fruit and veg from Lidl, they had a good selection and the cheese and yoghurts were nice too. I may go again but in general I think the hassle of having to do two shops outweighed any small saving that I made.

But…read moreover time i have noticed the disabled car space paint has faded leading to drivers clearly not disabled using it. I have spoken to staff and the manager about this but nothing has been actioned yet. Within ten mins today two cars of very able people misused that space when the rest of the car park was empty...come on tesco sort it out for your disabled customers! !!

The staff that have been there for years are nice, helpful and friendly…read more It was nice to see the shop refitted to modernise it, but the plan was not thought out very well. A LOT of the shop floor space is taken with a large open area at the front that serves no purpose. The aisles have been made so slim you are forced to squeeze past other shoppers, if you where using one of the co-op trolleys you would have to go back down the isle to get past unless of course you don't mind skimming past a trolly and no body space between you and the other person! Some of the new staff needed a personality test before being employed. I understand that working at co-op isn't what a lot of people want to be doing this Xmas.. but half a smile or some politeness would be good from time to time. I looked forward to the new 'fresh bakery' section that the other co-ops have, I was very let down by this in the new fitting.. very poor choice compared to other co-ops. I would drive to Tesco's 1st before I shopped at the co-op to be honest. But its good for bread or milk when you run out.

Its in a really good position, really handy for people travelling…read morepast as long as you're going the right way cos its on the one way system, but its clean, well stocked, the staff are friendly and there's a fab little car park out front so there's nothing to complain about really. They are part of the big co-op group so they often do the fab little promotions you see on tv so its worth knowing they're there. The one downside is that the carpark at the front can be full easily so you may find yourself parking behind the co-op in which case you get directed out the back to a different part of the one way system which might be confusing for some people but for us locals, its ok!
