First priority my child was undoubtedly. What's so great about the Carle foundation Hospital…read morethere's multitudes of specializations within the foundation and top notch specialists that Is very well knowledgeable and adversed within their line of work is phenomenal. And I say that to say this, this type of compassion and commitment is not everywhere especially for Pediatric patients. My child and I were recently transported from Riverside Hospital to Carle Pediatric Intensive Care Unit due to no pediatric intensive care department within the facility of Riverside hospital. Transferred was an hour and a half way and it was a MUST and urgent care! . Due to weather changes and the winter's season, inevitable the viruses and FLU has knocked at our door once more. In the best care of Doctor Rosado and Doctor Tseng and their Amazing Staff. While my child had the best combinations of Pediatric care and Respiratory Therapy Medicine they both tackled the issue rather quickly and practically. Everyone single one of the staffing had compassion, kindness, supportiveness, tenderness and very thorough and knowledgeable of Asthmatic patients. They were understanding and treated my little one like their own. So much love was given to my little one. Carle Foundation even have a department called Child Life, which helped my child out emotionally by still being able to be in control of her situation and still being able to be a kid. She was able to still color, draw, legos, play room for the kids, puzzles, board games, play doh, books for reading just just to make a few things. Anything to keep her mind off of things and positive reinforcements. The ChildLife department was amazing shout out to Anna and Nikki!. We were definitely in the right place and right care! My family and I could not have done this without the loving family of Carle Foundation Hospital and we will forever be grateful. We stayed a long 5 days. With amazing Angels. Great service great people WELL DONE!

While I have tried several times bringing awareness to this situation before posting, I don't feel…read morethey're taking it seriously and I received the usual brush off from everyone I contacted. So now I'll go this route instead as a precaution to others who visit this Emergency room with head/brain issues. On 8/7/23 I was transported to the ER by ambulance. I had very sudden extreme pain in my head along with complete right eye blindness, severe neck pain, vomiting, and confusion. Once staff spoke to the EMT's that transferred me and getting only half my issues and symptoms, the nurses and doctors took it upon themselves to diagnose me with a migraine, like the EMTs had stated, without any tests or scans and only checking with EMTs for symptoms. They spoke to me asked me a couple questions and left me in a dark room dazed and confused. Once they spoke to my husband and he advocated this was in fact not a typical migraine and that I had gone completely blind in one eye, he stated we were NOT leaving without a scan to find out what was going on in my brain. Doctors finally ordered the scan only to find out I had a ruptured brain aneurysm, also known as hemorrhagic stroke. I was bleeding in my brain and it was on the verge of taking my life. Unfortunately this is not the only time this has happened. My Mother was also transported to this ER after collapsing at home several years ago and while they spent several hours testing her heart, they didn't scan her head for several hours and she also had a ruptured brain aneurysm that they failed to diagnose for hours. Unfortunately my Mom wasn't able to survive her rupture and passed away hours later. The reason I'm writing this is because this ER and many others do not recognize Hemorrhagic stroke symptoms! They play guessing games with matters that affect your brain instead of ordering the scans needed to diagnose these issues quickly. More education of hemorrhagic stroke symptoms need to be implemented and their medical staff need to order the necessary scans to detect such issues. If you arrive at this emergency room with unusual head/brain issues, or any of the hemorrhagic stroke symptoms advocate for yourself to get a scan!!! Unfortunately I've learned the hard way we have to educate ourselves because we can't rely on this ER to recognize or help us in that area.

I was very angry and saddened by the experience my son and I had when he visited the ER on…read moreWednesday, February 5, 2025. It was frustrating and stressful for both of us, especially with my son being unwell and I was 3 hours away. It's important that patients and their families feel respected and cared for, especially in such a vulnerable situation. I asked that the situation be reviewed, including the doctor's conduct and the medical notes, and ensure that our concerns are addressed appropriately. Irrelevant and inappropriate comments should not be written in medical notes. Medical professionals should focus on the symptoms that are relevant to the case at hand, and everything should be documented in a neutral and professional manner. It's crucial to hold healthcare providers accountable for treating ALL people with respect and professionalism. People should be heard and feel safe when experiencing health issues! The ER doctor was Lauren Casey and she was rude, unprofessional and short with me when I asked questions about my son's care. I will say that the only thing she did correctly was performing the test that she ordered for him. Other than that she liked professionalism, Empathy and respect. Before I arrived to the hospital, my son said that most if not all the staff was rude to him. Customer service is vital and obviously these people that were there and treated my son knew nothing about good customer service skills. They should be held accountable and trained to treat people in a better manner.

A family member had had a bad seizure, so I came to town for moral support and to help supply all the happy and positive vibes! Our patient was on one of the older floors that had not been remodeled so the chairs were uncomfortable. Especially after hours and hours of sitting. BUT right down the hall was a new wing that was for ICU patients and their new lounge was super nice. Nice comfy chairs. Blankets. A kitchenette with a microwave and Ice machine. Very helpful. The cafeteria here had weird hours and only certain stations were available after 2 or 3. The salad bar was fine. They also had a monthly revolving menu, so you always knew what hot bar would be available. When it comes to hospitals if you can't respect the work the nursing staff and technicians do all day everyday, you need your head checked. We appreciated all the hard work and hard things they have to do for patients who are in pain. At Saint Johns they offer up a reward program so your able to recognize and nominate a team member. We made sure to let them know how appreciated they all were everyday but also nominated the best of the best.

I was very concerned as my Dad was walking 4000 step or more every day and now had severe ankle pain which he called "gout", arthritis and just old. I had arranged for his previous schedule cervical MRI to be held at St Johns and asked for cardiac consult. He discharged him early next morning. Even discharge papers say "to home" which he could not go to. He went to skilled nursing home. This DR on the ortho floor does not deserve to be caring for patients, certainly not older patients that he clearly things age is reason to just dismiss all information about them. This was October 2025. My Dad is doing great no thanks to that incompetent Dr.

After realizing our patient needed intense rehab before going home he was finally approved to go to 3B at Memorial. 3B is their therapy wing and known for being better than the kind of rehab you'd get from a nursing home facility. To get up to the room, everyday, usually twice a day, sometimes three times a day, you had to check in at a desk at the main entrance. Give the patients name and room number and get a name tag. Only a maximum of two people were allowed in the room at any time. My mom and I were always together, so if anyone else came by one of us had to leave. The room was an older room with older furnishings and the only place for visitors to sit was a window seat bench. BUT just like the other hospital, around the corner was a newer wing with a small visitors lounge with much more comfortable chairs and a table. The cafeteria here had much better hours and specials. I was a creature of habit and got the little taco bar and salad bar. I cannot make a salad without sunflower seeds anymore because they have them here!!! What was also different here is not only acknowledging the hard work the nurses and techs do night and day, but the work the physical therapist do. From PT, to OT to ST we were thankful for everything they do.

Stop pretending to care…read more Update the facilities. Especially update the ER Staff...some of them.. especially the nurses need to improve interactions with patients. If I know what the doctor said to me please don't think I'm making it up. I know precisely what was discussed. You weren't there. You suck to the outdated orders but thought you were correct. Yet when the internist started to look it up on the PC she found the consult instructions that were discussed with me. I was at the consultation. I know exactly what was discussed. Please do not ever second guess my ability to listen. Doctors and nurses make mistakes and forget to double check what they thoughtthey heard. I will never return to this facility. Specific reason.
