I looked for actual spa type experiences in the area and this came up. I booked on their website which also gave the impression it was a spa having sauna selection and other add ons. When I got there it was a tiny hole in the wall quickie massage type place. Since it was on the bottom floor of an office complex I could hear people stomping up and down the stairs to the dentist office above. Not relaxing at all. Very fishy place to be vulnerable! Me and my parents went in for an hour deep tissue massage & 20 mins steam room. There was only 2 masseuse so they took my parents first while I wait by the reception area. A few minutes after one of the masseuses keeps came out to check the front multiple times and as she was returning I saw her picking through the door eye hole into the other room where my dad was getting massage when I try to confront her she pretended not to understand English. Not sure why the rooms have door eye hole to begin with?!! Quality of massage is trash! Honestly i felt like she was just rubbing oil on my back ‍ I kept telling her I asked for deep tissue massage but she didn't want to understand. Cost was good for the Bay Area, only $70 for an hour massage and I just called a few minutes ahead of time and made an appointment for thirty minutes later. The ladies that helped me were nice and welcoming. I got an hour deep tissue massage, it was relaxing and she hit some good pressure points here and there but I would say it was not enough pressure for someone who likes to really get in the knots. Because I work and exercise a lot and only rest a couple days a week, my legs were extremely sore. After searching the area I found Warm Spring Spa. From the entrance I was greeted and assisted immediately. The customer service was on point the entire time. Ana took the time to ask which areas required the most attention and communicated throughout the massage to make sure I was comfortable. She even offered me water or tea after. Low quality service, they wanted to see my ID when paying with Apple Pay, knowing that everything is pre verified, really made me upset. Then they didn't want to accept the payment without adding a 10% fee for using a credit card, so I told them I'll take it out of their tip. The massage itself was lazy, they kept wanting to use their elbows instead of fingers for working the muscles, this is typical of these types of places. Very shady business practices; I just booked a 60 minute Swedish massage for my wife yesterday online (12/23) for a 12/25 appointment through their portal, which BTW did not indicate a blackout date on their calendar for Christmas; they booked the appointment knowing they would be closed, they charged my credit card, and then the owner called me to say they are closed on Christmas and that she would refund my money, and then they charged my card anyway. I have to now dispute this with credit card company, but I have an email as proof which clearly shows I canceled the appointment 48 hours prior to appointment. read more

Excellent service. Totally happy with their quality of work. I had a tennis elbow and arthritis issue on my right hand and prolonged use of another hand I got the same issue on my left hand too. I went to deep tissue massage with Massager Jean. She understood my issue right after I explained and massaged me in that problematic area well. This massage cost $70.00 for an hour and it was OK it was not fantastic it was not bad,; I give it a 7 out of 10 score with 10 being the best. I offered her $10 tip and she immediately voiced her displeasure and asked for $20. I did not want to give her $20 I just think that's excessive maybe that's just me. Came by for a massage the other day and this experience left a lot to be desired. Their 1 hour massage was $50 cash only or $1 surcharge for credit cards. The massage was held in a private room and the masseuse was chatty... She didn't do much more than rub oil all over my back and body?!? ...I asked for a "strong" massage and she continued to just rub oil?!? It saddens me too write this review but I must share. Started by paying for the massage before it was given to me ... not a problem as it was late around 7:40pm ....I went in for a hour deep tissue massage expecting a decent massage and was shocked by my masseuses (LINA) whom was amazing and gave me a great massage. The issue occurred when it was all over and my masseuses waited for me at the front. I let her know that I would love to tip her 20% of the bill which she then stated that I should tip more and pointed to a sign that stated " you should tip 40% on deep tissue massages" I told her that I will keep it at 20 and she said next time you come you should tip more.... Lesson to be learned... this masseuses could have gained a client that would have came to her on a weekly basis as I do a lot of weight training which would have been thousands of dollars over years span. But she gave that up by being rude and asking to tip an extra 20%. If you guys think that people should be required to tip an extra 40% on a deep tissue massage you should charge more for it rather than putting your business at risk and being rude and asking for more money. I have been here a couple times and usually I am treated really nice. I went today and received a massage that was ok but pretty painful. I paid 65$ and was going to leave a 10$ tip. When I went to process the tip I was told my tip wasn't enough. I am a single parent of 3 little ones and getting a massage is my escape. I felt very belittled and made out to be "cheap". She told me that people usually tip that low. I was embarrassed considering I usually tip 15$ each time. My service wasn't the same as last time. New customers beware. The other reviews should serve as a warning. The shadiest place and people. I went there for a 90 min massage. The masseuse Joanna asked me if I preferred hard, medium or mild. I said medium and not too hard. I mentioned this is because of lower back and shoulder issues. She's asked me if she can step on my back and I said sure. There was no mention of any extra work needed for this. The massage was good. At the end I gave a $20 tip for a $100 massage. The manager made a face when I gave it to her. She had a not very discreet chat with the masseuse who threw a tantrum. The manager then proceeds to tell me that normal tip is $20 but my masseuse had to apply extra pressure so the tip should be $25. This is absolute horseshit. I've been getting massages for 15 years, weekly for a large portion of that time. The massage wasn't very strong. Nevertheless there was no reason to ask for more tip. 25%? From other reviews this eye rolling and tantrum throwing to get more tip seems staged. I don't want an apology for the mishap Jessie. You lost out on additional business and have another detractor for a $5 tip. If this is how you expect to service customers for a business that depends on repeat visits, good luck with your crappy business. Demand cash only. Charge transaction fees for credit cards. Stop creating a scene and pressuring customers to tip more. If that is the case state this clearly before the massage is booked and started. read more

Found this place through groupon. When I came in she had me pay first which was a little odd.. I normally don't carry much cash so I would have normally tipped through credit card. But who tips before getting a service? Nobody . I go in to the room and get ready lay on the table I was laying there for almost 20 minutes before my lady came in and started. I then knew to start my timer. Which she did give me my whole 90 minutes worth. The massage overall was good, however there was a language barrier and I had to tell her to lighten the pressure multiple times. Which could be why I feel like I've been hit my a bus today. And now I fast forward to what made my experience so awful. I only had 3 dollars cash so I gave it to her. She then unfolds the money, turns her lip up at me like I was scum, puts it on the table and says "normally we get 20 dollars this isn't enough, I work hard". EXCUSE ME?! I'm sorry BUT HOW FUCKING RUDE?! I work in the service industry and a tip is never ever required. Nor do you ever ask for more. After seeing the sign "$50 for 70 minutes" out front several times I just had to check it out. It's close and only a couple blocks from my house. I was pretty annoyed that they leave these signs out on the sidewalk and on the street corners over night which is against the City Municipal Code and promotes bad business practice. If one business leaves their stand up advertisements on the street corner out 24/7 it's only fair that every business should be able to also leave their ads up on public property. No! This is bad business practice! Imagine if every business left signs up on public side walks 24/7 we'd have one ugly looking community! My visit started by walking towards the back and being promptly greeted by a lady who led me to my room. There she told me to "just take a quick nap, it will only be 5 minutes" Well about 15-20 minutes past and my masseuse was still nowhere to be found so I put my clothes back on, walk out to the lobby and ask whats going on and she says "Nonononono only 2 more minutes." Whelp, 5 minutes later my masseuse comes in. She's doing a solid job, is friendly and respectful. I was having a small chat with her and about 30 minutes into the massage I hear the door open and close. I resume my chat only to hear someone who sounds really awkward go "uhhhh" and then I'm like "WAIT DID YOU JUST SWITCH ON ME?" We laughed it off but it's still a very awkward and unprofessional thing to do. Fast forward to the end of the massage: I tip my masseuse $10 and she asks me to double the tip so that she can give her friend the first masseuse a tip. Never mind the fact she ACTUALLY ASKED ME TO TIP MORE. I said "No, I had to wait 25 minutes in the room when the receptionist quoted me 5 minutes." She argued with me and said that it's not her fault it's her managers fault. I told her that she should go ask her manager to pay the tip she thinks shes missing. Message room was tiny. The steam room was at the end of the hall way far from the message room with the shower room on the other side. This means that you would have to wrap your naked self in a towel and walk in a non private environment in order to get in and out of the steam/ shower room. Not my taste. The masseuse was friendly buy a bit too chatty. She also applied too much pressure that the next day I got a couple bruises on my head and neck. Skill wise i wouldn't say she was good either, I did not feel relaxed afterwards at all . On the side note, the masseuse told me the place was clean and actually changed their sheets every time but not all Chinese massage places do that, which has caused an alarm. Now the worst thing, on the phone when I booked the appointment, they ASKed me to bring cash for the tips. read more

As much as I enjoyed the lady who have me my massage my overall experience was not five star as is hoped. The technic was a dry massage technic in which I had requested deep tissue and high pressure. I was 20 minutes late getting in to my scheduled massage and then they forgot about me. I continued to I've the benefit of the doubt. My therapist did not speak English and communication barrier was frustrating. I tried to relax and enjoy the deep tissue massage but my skin was rubbed raw from it being dry, I had to cut my massage short because it was so behind to begin with and I needed to leave with my boyfriend who waited a half hr already. My reason for the 2 stars is had I not been left with purple bruises all over my shoulders the place had potential and the pricing was competitive. I was highly disappointed and left in more pain than I'd arrived. I'd hoped for a discount but was not offered one. If you like that style massage and dry then be my guest. Wanted to give this place 5 stars for: -taking me on such short notice -not being too expensive -rooms are actually room, as opposed to the divider wall type "room" at some places -clean and nice looking -massage table was comfy and the face protector is cloth so it doesn't leave lines on your face I took away stars because: -my massage therapist came into the room as I was still putting on clothes even after I yelled, "no. Do not come in!" Alright, if you have ever stepped into a foot massage place...mostly operated by Chinese masseuses, then you know how they differ from your traditional spas...a lot of karate chop, abrupt moves. I have left numerous foot massage places with isolated pain. I love Burke Williams and I can be a real spa snob. If you go to Burke Santana Row (go see Mark!!) Today, I needed a massage stat and no appts. were available with Mark at Burke. My friend recommended this spot -- so I thought why not, close to home and I was in dire need of a massage. I called and got an appt. The place is clean, small front room with water available, and separate rooms. Their website is pretty useful, photos and descriptions of staff are kinda funny but cute. I picked Melody because it said she specializes in SPORT and I typically get DEEP TISSUE massages. Melody - 70 minutes Deep Tissue Massage at medium pressure - She has small, thin hands but damn -- girl is strong!! She worked my knots in my shoulders, my cramps in my calves, and quads out. She asked me what areas to focus on. Her English is fairly good. She said my left side was extremely tight and my lower back was extremely tight (all true). She did straddle on the bed at one point and worked the heck out of my lower back. That was awesome. Oh, and they massage your buttocks. That's different...Fine with me. They wipe the oils off you with hot towels near the end. Finished off with a face and scalp massage, at this point I could sleep. $55 - for 70 minutes (if you pay with credit card), $50 if you pay with cash. Yeah, thats annoying-- but next time I will just bring cash. $10 - for lavender oil. I asked the receptionist what they used and she said non-fragranced oil for free, but I wanted lavender because I am spa snob, remember? :) Next time, I will probably bring my own and ask them to use it. It is just like those nail shops -- extra $5 for every thing. $5 - 20 minutes in steam room. Okay, remember when I said I am a spa snob? I usually chill in the steam room before & after my massages. this time I was there at 4pm and hung out for about 15 minutes in there (temp said 115 degrees F). Then proceeded to my massage. Steam room was empty, just me. Was able to take my towel off and chill in solitude. Clean. Shower was available outside to rinse off. They provided plenty of towels, slippers and a robe. Anyhow - last minute non-snobby spa experience for $70 ($55 massage + $5 steam room + $10 lavender). I feel great. I am going to sleep great. I would come back for Melody. Can't beat the price!! p.s.
