Buyer Beware: THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM AND TOOK MY MONEY. Do not pay this company upfront. Once they had my money, all communication stopped. My experience with Wardoff and Sons Pest was beyond unacceptable and, in my opinion, felt outright scam-like. They caught one squirrel, then demanded full payment upfront for a second trap. That second trap was never properly set up, and the service I paid for was never delivered at all. When I contacted them, they promised--three times--that someone would return to fix it. No one showed up. After repeated attempts to get them to either do the work I had already fully paid for or provide a refund, they stopped responding entirely. No resolution. No refund. No explanation. Demanding full payment in advance, failing to perform the service, making repeated promises they never intended to keep, and then cutting off communication is exactly what customers warn each other about. I will be filing a formal complaint with the Attorney General's office, and I strongly encourage anyone considering this company to protect themselves and choose a business that actually stands behind its work. read more

Let me save you from being scammed by the shadiest exterminator I've ever encountered. This business flat out stole $300 from me and then secretly took off without providing any service. The technician who came to my home taped my front door open with sticky pads as if he was coming right back, then peaced out and blocked my number. The coordinator, Stephanie, blocked my number as well, the second she received payment (then later unblocked it after realizing that iphones display texts in green when someone has blocked you.) Zero pest removal was done. I had to file a fraud report with Thumbtack since that's where I originally hired this company -- they are in the process of banning them from operating there. You see, this does not come down to a "they said, she said" case. I had home cameras operating throughout the entire 10-minute "visit" before the technician took off without a word. Before doing so, he trashed my living room, scratched my walls, and pulled off paint by carelessly throwing sticky pads all over. I thought this would be a simple extermination job. There was nothing daunting or unclean about my home that could have caused the technician to bolt without saying a word. The business has taken zero accountability. Given that theft and property damage have occurred with ample video evidence, I've decided to file a police report and take legal action. Wish I would have read the reviews from others here first, as I can see that property damage is a pattern with these guys. Update: After posting an honest review of my experience with this business on Thumbtack, the business retaliated by publishing a public reply that threatened to sue me over my review and posted my full name, address, and personal phone number. It was immediately taken down by Thumbtack. Thumbtack has sanctioned Wardoff & Son for their unprofessional conduct and issued a full refund after reviewing all of the video footage I provided along with the supporting documentation. I called this company in March because of a squirrel problem. They came out put a trap on my roof (which I later found out was a raccoon trap), charged me $400 and I never heard from them again. After repeated calls and texts, the trap is still on my roof and I have not received the refund I requested. They scammed a senior citizen. Shame on them. I got a response from the review I posted. Sorry to say that everything they said was untrue. I never heard from this company until I called them. I know that receiving a bad review is not good. I stumbled across this company when I was trying to avoid using a national company as they often want to lock you into an annual contract and WardOFF had so many positive reviews. I first made contact with Stephani who represented the company well with her excellent customer service skills. She assured me that they wouldn't try to sell me on a contract and gave me a firm, reasonably priced quote over the phone for a wasp nest removal. Elysse and Trevor came to my home on the scheduled day and completed the task quickly and efficiently. Trevor also noticed an ant problem I was having around the perimeter of my house and took care of that as well. I had recent services ( 4/11/23-4/23/24) performed on a townhome development for squirrel(s) in the attic. The owner came out and also stated that mice droppings were also noted. All I can say is that this company claims to want to "get rid of these pests for good", "service is simple, affordable and gives you the peace of mind", and that "every job is guaranteed". All false statements from my experience. One squirrel caught, and 2 mice traps/bait used. Still had squirrel issues and don't know if the mice bait was successful. Can't possibly go into every detail regarding all that transpired, but it was a nightmare from day one. Would not recommend this company to anyone! read more

Made an appointment for 1 PM for field mice entering the house via the sun room. Exterminator never showed up. Got a call at 230 PM from the exterminator claiming he was at my house from 1245 PM to 1 PM and continued to plead his case that he was at my house and we weren't. We made concessions to be at our home from 11 AM on and we were waiting, so he was obviously not here. Also, if he was really at the house from 1245 PM - 1 PM why did it take 1.5 hours (230 PM) to call and follow-up with the appointment?! I had recently purchased a home in Berlin. While doing inspection, we found mud tunnels that were left by termites. Since the seller had used Ward Off before, I called them to come out and inspect once again to make sure we didn't have any structural damage to the house. No hesitation, I called that morning and left a message about two hours later, the owner himself was ready to come out and look at the property. He said his associate went out and inspected to give termite cert. but Mr. Nunnemaker wanted to maker sure that we didn't have any problems himself. I asked him to come at 4:00pm on Friday and with no hesitation, he said he will be at the house. When he arrived, he did a thorough inspection of the mud tunnels and explained to me that the mud tunnels were dry and brittle which means it has not been active for quite some time. He also went on to explain how the termites build its nest and tracks and what to look for in case we do have termite invasion. He was very courteous, thorough and genuine in his demeanor. I have not seen this type of customer service. He did not charge me any fees due to previous inspection done by the seller. Mr. Nunemaker is wonderful! I called Ward-Off at 3:30 PM (crying hysterically, I have to admit) because I heard some horrible animal trying to claw it's way through my ceiling (literally--there are piles of drywall dust all over the floor where they're digging) and he came over immediately--in less than 15 minutes!! He went into the attic, saw that there were two squirrels trying to make a nest in my attic, located where they were coming in, and scared them out so I could have the hole blocked up and repaired.
