I was willing to pay them to show me how, but the lady there was so helpful and put it together for me at no charge. Shoutout to our local community heroes! I wish that I knew earlier that this was a Medical Supply Store, because I thought it was a medical clinic. I love being able to get all my medical supplies in a quality store like this. I truly appreciate the knowledgeable staff here like Courtney and Earl. Courtney was so helpful with helping me understand all the different types of Cpap supplies and even helped me set up a consultation with Earl to get more information about my machine. Courtney and Earl both informed me about the process of getting a new machine through my insurance since how it has been @5 years since my last one. I am excited, because sleep apnea is very important to control and it is so beneficial to maintain proper use. Using a sleep machine has saved my life. Nasty people who should not be in a business dealing with the sick or elderly! We will never go back again! W hile there to make a purchase I suddenly became ill. I asked to use the bathroom. I told them it was an emergency. Not only did they refuse even though they could see I was in great distress, they used the excuse that it was against HIPAA regulations! I was the HIPAA Compliance Officer for our medical office for 30 years. She is a liar! There is no regulation that says someone can't walk by a pile of charts to get to the bathroom! read more

I had a very unfair, quite unbelievable insensitive experience at Ward's Medical Service. I bought a wheelchair for my husband who became suddenly paralyzed from spinal cord cancer. I bought a wheelchair from Ward's on July 31, 2025. I used it one time to get him into our vehicle to go to an appointment at Mayo Clinic. It went from my house to the car and back into the house. And then when we arrived home, it again went from my house to the car and back into the house. It never left our property. It was wheeled approximately 36 feet in total. My husband passed away on August 29, 2025. The 30 day mark for a return was on Sunday, August 31, 2025. It was also a holiday weekend and the office was closed. Struggling through my grief, I made a phone call today (9/3) to return the wheelchair as I desperately need that refund money. After the sales person reached out to the owner, he refused to allow me to return it because it was outside the 30 days. You conclude what you want from this review. I have used and spent my hard earned money at the store for other products. This decision is unconscionable. I strongly do NOT recommend this company. read more

I would not recommend this business for CPAP services. I needed a CPAP machine and made an appointment to go to Ward Medical Services to get one. The man who showed me how to use the equipment was awesome however the cost of the equipment is the issue. I was never shown an older version vs. a newer version of the CPAP machine. The only thing I was told was that there were two machines. one had a dial and the other one was touch screen. I was not shown either one or told the cost difference of each one. My equipment was already set up for me that day so I did not question. This is the first time I was using a CPAP machine and knew nothing about it. Medicare and my supplement paid for the equipment on their part however I was charged by Ward Medical Services $200.00 out of pocket because I was told I upgraded to the touch screen. NOW. if I was shown these two machines I would have not chosen the more expensive one just because it is touch screen. Also because I had not met my deductible at the time, I had to pay out of pocket $410.00 in order to leave with the equipment. Instead of Ward Medical Services submitting the claim first, they charged me the full price to take the CPAP machine with me. I would not recommend going to Ward Medical Services for your CPAP machine. read more

The initial rental went well. However, we were a day late returning the wheelchair. They charged $25 for one day late. This is gross overcharge when you consider a whole month rental is $65. We paid it this time but rest assured we will NEVER rent from this business again!!! read more

Ward Medical Supply were fantastic. While visiting from out of the country, my oxygen concentrator required servicing. Earl Ward went out of his way to get me the correct parts and to have them installed within days and just prior to my flight home. The technician was pleasant and very careful with my concentrator. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who finds themselves in need of medical supplies. Their service is quick, pleasant, and reliable. In my book, Wards are awesome! read more

Staff very unhelpful and poor attitude. Wouldn't submit my insurance for a wheelchair, said it was a process. We decided to buy a walker instead, just out of necessity. When you see low ratings, please believe it. I read the reviews before going here and yes everything I was accurate just like the past customers spoke. I returned a wheelchair I rented on Friday 07/08/2022 today 07/11/2022. The seat of the chair was almost glue together bc as we all know it's hot and the sun has a way of sealing plastic together making it hard to open. When I walked in the store this middle age heavy set long dresses wearing lady approached me "Are you returning?" (Yes) She then tried to open the chair she spoke "Hold on" she walks into a office near the rear of the store and comes back with a blonde. The Blonde spoke "Hello" then begin to attempted to open the chair. I assisted....Rudely the heavy set long dress wearing middle age lady spoke "It wasn't like that when you rented it" (I immediately said "Calm down, Don't make any allegations, it's nothing wrong with the chair) As the blonde expresses the embarrassment on her face she spoke "You had it tight together" At this moment the store was quite and the middle age heavy set long dress wearing woman didn't apologize for falsely accusing me and with assumption of the chair being broken. Stay away from Ward Medical Store It's not worth your pride being stepped on and the judgmental of that one Staff who spoils the whole bunch! read more

I switched to Ward after getting the run around from Lincare about getting a replacement for my recalled CPAP machine. For some reason both these Companies can't seem to find the record of when I last ordered supplies. Despite picking up a new machine from Ward my records have yet to be scanned into their system and I'm talking MONTHS ago. I guess it's MY responsibility to know what supplies were ordered and WHEN they were ordered. I don't understand how Ward can bill Medicare if they have no idea when or what supplies were ordered. It would appear that their business office is poorly managed which makes me wonder about every other aspect of this company. I guess I'll be looking yet again for another company for my CPAP supplies read more

I rented a hospital bed for my father who was returning home on hospice. The bed did not move up and down as it was supposed to, so hospice feared my father could not safely get in or out. I contacted Ward and the owner came out to fix it, which was great as my dad wasn't yet home. The bed then went up and down, but after raising the head, it would not go down. The engine didn't even click. As my dad was home I had to use his old bed and disassemble this one. I called ward, explaining the situation, and they came out a week later to pick it up. It was too late at this point to move his bed out again and hope it would work. It also seemed quite old and was very loud. I paid over $300 for renting the bed and after asking several times have still not received a refund or even a response. The owner said at pick up that "he might refund some." Seemed like nice people but terrible service and antiquated poor quality product. You'd likely be better off buying a bed or renting elsewhere. read more

Our insurance company deals with a different company and could not get the equipment we needed. I called Ward Medical and they not only had what we needed in stock, they delivered it within a few hours. Jesse and Ethan delivered the equipment. They were both professional and courteous. I highly recommend this company for your medical equipment needs. They went above and beyond to get us the equipment we so desperately needed. My experience with Ward Medical Supplies was awful. It took three weeks from the time I saw my sleep doctor for them to get everything straight so I could come in for my new CPAP. In those three weeks I had to repeatedly call Gina at Ward and my doctors office to get them to communicate. When my appointment finally came, I met with Leigh, the co-owner. She told me we had to fill out the paperwork and pay before I could even see my CPAP - that is their policy. I read the paperwork and it said that I was agreeing that I had received my device and had been trained on it's use. I refused to sign it. I said we hadn't even discussed which device I was getting. Leigh said that they're all the same. We give you whatever we have in stock. I told her I had done some research and they're not the same. Then I learned that they were planning to give me a regular CPAP but I told my doctor I needed an AutoCPAP. My doctor must have filled out the order wrong. Leigh said you need to get an order for an AutoCPAP. I came back later that day with the updated order. Leigh said it doesn't matter, you will have to pay an extra $100 dollars up front if you want the AutoCPAP. I said I called my insurance, BC/BS, and they told me there is no extra charge. Leigh said they're wrong, she knows the insurance better than they do and , blah, blah, blah. I asked for my order back and drove over to Matrix Medical and they took my order and got me an AutoCPAP several weeks later. I also called CareCentric, the DME provider for BC/BS and was told by a customer advocate that several of Leigh's statements and practices were wrong and she was submitting them to CareCentric for investigation of unethical behavior by Ward Medical. I was told 1.) With my BC/BS of Fla, you never pay a penny to the DME company. All copays are billed by CareCentric after the equipment is provided. 2.) There was no flat rate $100 extra charge for an AutoCPAP over a regular CPAP. 3.) A health device provider should never ask you to sign papers stating you've received a CPAP and training before you received a CPAP and training. There are differences between the ResMed and Respironics CPAPs. In my opinion health device providers (DMEs) should help customers understand the differences so they can choose the one that best meets their needs and not try to force on them whatever they have in stock. My conclusions based on my experience: Leigh's attitude to me was incredibly condescending and arrogant. She wouldn't even give me her name until I asked for it. She seemed to be pushing on me the CPAP she had on hand and in my opinion was using deception (#2 above) to steer me away from the device that would best meet my needs. As a result of picking Ward, it cost me an extra three weeks to get my CPAP. It was an awful, demeaning experience for me to deal with someone who didn't seem to have any care or compassion for me as a customer. Please read the other reviews that talk about how rude and unpleasant she was with them. Some people should not be dealing with the public. Because this is a small family run business and she and her husband, Earl, are the owners, don't expect her to be replaced. Their apologies for her behavior ring hollow considering how poorly some of us were treated and that it continues to happen. Based on the reviews, some people have had very good experiences, but shouldn't we all be treated professionally? Do you want to be the next one who has to write one of these terrible reviews? I was treated with respect and dignity at Matrix Medical. Based on my experience, I would encourage other customers to avoid Ward Medical at all costs. read more

I recently fractured my tibia, and there are a few raves I would like to post and will do so in the next few days, but I firstly want to rave for Ward Medical Services and Earl Ward, and his lovely wife Leigh Ward. They are fabulous. They came to my aid with a scooter after seeing me struggle on crutches (hence the fractured tibia, Im not the most graceful). They not only delivered, but helped me learn to use it correctly. I highly reccomend Ward Medical services for any of your medical needs. read more

They made buying medical insurance- covered wrist splints almost impossible for me. I would stay away from here if you are in immediate need of medical supplies. You may never get them due to the staffs' inefficiencies and lack of caring. read more

This medical supply store is the absolute worst place I have ever dealt with. My 75 year old dad is visiting me in Florida and had to go to urgent care today. He was given a prescription for a nebulizer because he has pneumonia. I took the prescription to Wards in St Augustine Florida. They told us that the network they use will not cover any supplies from an out of state person. I called my dads health insurance and they called the network that wards uses and then the network (the people who make the guidelines) called Wards and told them that is was ok to provide the equipment to us cause it is covered by my dads insurance. But Wards still refused to provide it to us. So we ended up having to order one on line and pay for it ourselves. This is absolutely unacceptable and I will not stop at just review. I will be contacting the local news station and reporting them. read more

A couple of days ago, after requesting a prescription for a walking assist device, The nurse at my physicians office Faxed the document to Wards Medical in St Augustine. Yesterday I went into the store to collect my walker. My wife and I were the only persons in the store. Two associates were busy looking at the computer and ignored us. Finally after a short time. I spoke to the young gentleman (wearing a baseball cap) and said "Can you help me? His response, was "Maybe". I informed his that my physician had faxed the prescription . His immediate response was "we haven't received it" This was confirmed by the associate at the other computer. I pressed him to look at the walkers that were displayed. His reluctance to help was unbelievable. He finally told me that Medicare would only pay $30 towards one. I returned to my physician who assured me that the Fax was delivered. I also suggested that they avoid Ward Medical in future. After about ten minutes we left in disgust. Meanwhile I purchased one from the local pharmacy that was the same as one on display but slightly less expensive. Today, I received a phone call from "Jeff" who informed me that they found the prescription. Subsequently I discovered from another medical supply company that the $30 was incorrect. Medicare pay a substantial amount and my supplementary insurance will make up the difference. I would suggest that the staff at this establishment needs a course in CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more
