My family has been going to this optician since 1984. They have always been amazing. I once went…read moresomewhere else, and the next time I came right back to Lynch-Wood. They are very patient and attentive if you take a long time to choose your frames. John is a great (and very patient!) help in choosing which style looks good on you, especially if you can't see yourself very well as you try them on. Craig is great with the technical aspects of eyewear, example: how your peripheral vision will be in this or that frame and how heavy or light the frame will feel on the bridge of your nose. They offer excellent service and they are very nice people to work with. You will want to come back!

Walking to the front desk, I was greeted by a very sweet and helpful receptionist who is, I must…read moresay, very good at her job. She asked for my insurance and even looked up the coverage, etc. for all our options. After a very short, about 7 min wait for my 6pm appointment, I was in the examination room. Dr. Hong was very quick, efficient, and thorough. I was out of there in no time and had my prescription for contacts and eyeglasses. I ordered my contacts right then and there. Prices are pretty reasonable, but I guess that depends on your insurance. Very quick (but not rushed service) They offer appointments and have lots of options for frames. They have a room in the back where they have lots of machines, probably for adjusting the frames on site. The man who was helping out a woman with her glasses was very friendly and polite. I will probably come here if I ever end up getting glasses (I'm a contacts person). Only downside is that the place is a bit...well...old. The chairs seem like they've been here since they opened, and the back machine room/storage room is easy to see while walking to the examination room. Other than that, the place is pretty nice. There are magazines and some children's toys in the waiting area. Pretty new magazines too it seems, which is nice.

Thank you George and Katie!! Been getting my eyes taken care of there for several years, but…read moreyesterday, I broke my pair for reading close up yesterday. At 11AM today I was due in Philly to read 15-17 pages in a foreign language at a funeral, and was lost without my close up glasses. Katie was at the front desk and had a spot for me tomorrow to get an exam and glasses, but it was too early, as was the second and third choice, but the 4th choice worked fine. She told me if I came aerly that was ok too, and set me at ease. George tended to my glasses. He was able to find the frame (at least 3 years old) and wa sable to move the lenses out of the old glasses and into the new frame. I'll be back tomorrow for my apptmt and maybe new lenses. Did these two people just "do their job". Yes but much more, because I was under a time squeeze, plus I need my glasses to work. Their calm professional helpful demeanor totally disarmed all the stress I was experiencing. I hope the company can keep them as employees, as they are definitely an asset and a plus to that store. And if you read this far, no I am not related to George or Katie by blood or by marriage, nor was I even asked to write a review. They simply earned it.

I told him directly I needed someone else to help me pick out frames but he just shrugged. Another employee chose to help 2 much younger women with their glasses though I was seeking help before they did.

I've never seen the doctor here, so this is just the optometry side review…read more My boyfriend went here, since it was the only place that sold the AO Safety glasses he needed. He called ahead of time to see when they closed, and we rushed over. The optician was waiting there with our name and all the frames to show us and he was EXTREMELY helpful. He did more than say "that frame looks good on you." Having a science (organic chemistry?) background, he was very knowledgeable about the product. He helped to choose the right type of lens material (like which chemicals would affect the lens) and frame shape for the job. Now, the way these glasses are made are with a removable rubber "gasket" and extraneous pieces that pop-off. My boyfriend didn't like part of the frame, so the optician said he would custom fit the prescription rather than sending it to the company. It came out perfectly, and is just what he wanted. He was very up front about any of your questions. He didn't try to sell you things you don't need or think you do need (I thought I needed transition lenses, and he told me they'd be useless for what I want and I shouldn't waste my money). As with all these boutique-y eye wear store, there was a limited selection and a high cost. However, once I find the frames I want, I will probably bring it back here for them to put the right lenses in.

I was told that they're in network with my insurance and they told me to come for two different visits to make sure my insurance covers the procedures they did. There was no need for any advanced procedures as I went for a regular visit. Before every procedure I confirmed with them if my insurance will cover it and they said yes but after 6 months I started getting bills for hundreds of dollars and now they are threatening me with debt collection calls. Disgusting and shameful.
