Confession time: I tried to 'cheat' on The Optical Shoppe with a new doctor for the sake of convenience. Spoiler alert: it was not convenient, and I came running back! I've been a loyal customer here since the Dr. Finch days and the era of the incredibly cool Dave. Even though Dave has retired and his wonderful daughter Jamie now runs the business from behind the scenes, you can absolutely still feel their standards living on through the staff. I walked in fresh from my 'bad breakup' with that other place, and Lex immediately swung into action. She actually repaired my old glasses on the spot (new nose pads and a tighten-up) so I had something to wear while waiting for my order. Then she whisked me over to the contact lens specialist (I am mortified that I forgot your name--please forgive me, I promise to get it right when I pick up my order!) and then to Kim, their amazing Optician. I ended up going all in: transition lenses with new frames AND prescription sunglasses. The whole experience reminded me why I loved interacting with Dave all those years ago. Lesson learned: You can't put a price on this kind of care. This is why supporting local, family-owned businesses is so important. I'm back for good! read more

Kudos to the staff at The Optical Shoppe, specifically Kimberly and Jackie! Jackie was quite welcoming and led me to Kimberly. Kimberly kindly fixed my broken glasses (screw came out and arm came off). I had attempted to fix them myself but couldn't see well enough to do so! Being from out of town I did not have a spare pair! If I lived in the vicinity, I would surely utilize their services on a regular basis., so I'll give them five stars for customer service! When I used them several years ago I had received amazing service on the progressive lenses I needed .

I was looking for an optical store that offered glass lenses as opposed to plastic or polycarbonate. The Optical Shoppe offers that option. Jamie and the entire staff there were knowledgeable and very pleasant to deal with. Jamie helped me choose a pair appropriate for my face. The price was good too. When I came in for my fitting, Marisol did an outstanding job of making sure my glasses fit properly. Most places I've been to, especially the big chains, do a cursory job of fitting your glasses. They take your money and hustle you out the door. Marisol was persistent in making sure my glasses were properly fitted, fine tuning them until they were perfect. She was diligent, and really cared about doing a good job. I really recommend this place. The bonus is that it's a small, independent business rather than a corporate chain. They really deserve the 5 stars. read more

BLOWN AWAY with my experience at The Optical Shoppe. The office itself is beautiful and clean. The staff are warm, welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. We went there initially looking for sports goggles for my 8 year old daughter and after sitting with Jamie (the Owner and Optician) we quickly realized we found her forever eye doctor. We needed a last minute eye exam that the office was able to accommodate immediately. Jenni the Optometrist was the absolute sweetest! We were so impressed with our visit we ordered my daughter a new pair of glasses to celebrate! (Finding a large selection of kids glasses these days is very hard- so we took advantage of their cute frames!) The glasses arrived quick and pick up was a breeze, another plus-they have evening hours. I would highly recommend!! read more

Since moving to the area a few years ago, I have struggled to find a good optometrist. You wouldn't think it would be that difficult, yet... Anyway, I needed to get my yearly exam done in a pinch and although this shop was a little of a hike for me, after the experience I had there, I would gladly travel further if need be. Everyone in this shop is wonderful, and the Doc helped me to FINALLY see clearly and get my contacts right! They also got me a great deal on prescription sunglasses. Driving 2.5 hours from northeast pa this morning and the left ear peice falls off... pesky screw problems... so gappened upon this establishment for hopefully what would be ac quick fix ... I need to read blueprints for work and i was dead in the water. well these ladies working there were total professionals. They were very hospitable and took care of the problem in an instant. I don't live here but if i did... you'd is certainly where I'd go for my optical needs. I am local, so I walked in to check out the selection. Was greeted by a very nice young woman. I found a pair of frames I liked & was able to make an exam appointment for the following day. I went to the appointment, the Dr was very nice. I was able to get my frames and glasses, I received a call Saturday that they were finished. After wearing my glasses for a few days, I decided I wanted another pair that were a bit lighter for watching TV. My original pair were a little on the heavy side but that's because I decided on a gorgeous pair of Tori Burch frames. They were running a special buy one pair get a second 50% off, and since I had just gotten a pair they honored the sale. Very nice place, very nice people, & great selection of glasses. read more

Was lucky enough to meet Jamie when I walked into the shop. Yelp reviews drew me in. I had called earlier and told her what I was looking for. When I arrived, she had already pulled and organized all the frames she thought would work. Jaimie knows her stuff.
