I'm on the side of the disappointed reviewers here. Our friends said it was excellent Chinese food so I was surprised to see the Sushi offerings. Always a bad sign in a Chinese restaurant. The food was only ok, pretty standard fare though the veggies seemed fresh. The restaurant itself is very pretty and we were seated promptly. The service was an issue for being to rushed. We were asked 3 times if we were ready to order within minutes of sitting and then they kept trying to whisk the plates away, even while there was food on them. The spicy dumplings were tasty and the eggplant in garlic sauce delicious. The dish we ordered with chicken, shrimp and scallops was too much chicken. I didn't even get a shrimp! (the others in the group got them all) I think most of the disappointment was my expectation of real Chinese food, not the standard Americanized version. read more

It seems during the day is the best time to go in and get treated like shit. This happened around 5:30 pm, Thursday, Aug 4. From the start after walking in the place the waitress, eating at a table, looks up and sees my and my girl standing. The waitress continues to eat and then gets up with her mouth stuffed with and walks over to us, still chewing, asking us if we wanted to sit at the bar - we asked for a table. She walks us to the table and places the menus down on the table and then walks away leaving us to pull out our chairs and scan the menus. She didn't say anything about the specials or asked us if we wanted a drink or anything -- nothing. Finally after 15 minutes of waiting because she's tending to either her son or relative doing homework at a nearby table she has to perform her chore of tending to her "guests" I specifically requested an appetizer for us, my girl orders some sushi (that looked pretty bad by the way) and I order some pretty unappealing orange chicken (Cheesecake Factory nails that dish and they're not even an Asian restaurant!) This lady totally ignored that the appetizer should come first; my girls order came first - not at once but in pieces, same thing with mine. The appetizer came last. It's like she didn't give a shit about customer service and was just trying to get the food out ASAP which I don't know why because that place was as dead as a cemetery. She sets the plates down, still no type of emotion or warm response - this bitch was just cold, I've never seen anything like this especially for a family run restaurant that supposedly relies on people for business. Trust me I was looking for her name but she just had on a black polo shirt. As we finishing our plates she grabbed a plate that had some crispy crab ragoon edges that I placed because my girl wanted to eat them. As she picked up the plate my girl's head turns to me and the waitress replies in a cold tone "do you need this?" We just told her no. I couldn't finish my Orange chicken, which was just too sweet and messy looking to begin with. The white rice looked as if it was sitting in a bowl all day just waiting to be served. Yuck. I asked if I can put it in a box and she said "yep, I got it, I got it" We were debating to leave this person a tip. We left her $5 which was $4.99 too much. I implore any going to this restaurant DON'T! the service was horrendous, the food fast and sloppily slapped together. Save yourself $30-40 and go to Market Basket and buy a frozen bag of mixed Asian food for $7 and shrimp for $6. Or try Hans garden, Oriental Garden, Peking Garden; any place but this one. I used to constantly come here loving their food and how great they were with my allergies. I had a get together on my 18th birthday here and soon after leaving me and my boyfriend were throwing up. After he had been hospitalized for a day and I could not move, we found out we both had food poisoning which lasted a week and a half. Worst birthday ever, being in the restaurant makes me feel sick thinking about it. I will never eat here again which is very disappointing because of how great their food and service is. read more

Wangs Table has wonderful sushi! It's always fresh and the rice and seaweed are always perfect. I've found that the seaweed can be tough at other places when you get takeout, not here. Also, my husband doesn't LOVE sushi so it's the perfect place for us. He loves chinese food- so we are both happy! He loves the fried rice and beef teriyaki. The service is great too! We just moved to the area and wanted sushi, but didn't want to drive to the most excellent places we normally eat at. We decided using Yelp and came across this place. We showed up at 6 pm ish I sent my family inside while I parked. Not to the fault of this restaurant but I got "hey buddy can you spare a dollar" before my foot hit the curb which really sucks. So we sit and order a 60$ boat for two. First off let me start by saying crab stick is not sushi on any level, but they put that on as some of your sashimi. The salmon and escolar( white tuna if you will) were warm and smelled fishy and bad. Not that we ate any more after realizing the quality was awful but all the cuts were from the wrong side of the fish and the wrong direction. The sashimi pieces were half the size they should be. Very, Very, weak sushi. I looked at other peoples Chinese/American dishes they looked like typical run of the mill. We paid and I told the manager who tried to argue with me about it. I wasn't asking for anything at all I just wanted him to know, he seemed slightly concerned but treated me as if I was lying. Seriously save yourself the serious disappointment and drive to YOKI in Medford Ma. Fugaku in Brookline A super secret place in Arlington (not going to name it out of fear of the locals who will kill for it,but ask around if you know someone who knows something wink wink) These places are 45 min away but seriously don't eat the awful low quality trash served at wang's table. Consistently nasty waitress. The food is overpriced and less than okay. I've ordered delivery from Wang's only because oyummy does not deliver. Oyummy serves sushi/Japanese in Haverhill like Wang's. The difference is that Oyummy has much tastier food and with much friendlier service. I quit Wang's Table. I got an order of Orange Chicken and it was the worst I had ever had. It tasted as if the oil it was fried in was slightly rancid. The usual sweet/sour taste was missing; it was more like ordinary fried chicken. There were no vegetables or fruit, not even as a garnish. The waitress never came back to check on our meals, although I heard another waitress check the next table. Later I got really sick and I suspect it was food poisoning, although this would be impossible to prove as I did not take any home. This was my first and last visit to Wang's Table. read more

Went to Wangs last night for my bday. Food was great drinks were good. Staff was horrible. They were not very organized. Our waitress was upset with us for no apparent reason. I happened to look in her direction once and she yelled at me "it's coming". What was coming I have no idea?! Then when we finished eating they handed us the bill. We were not ready to leave so we asked her to put another round of drinks on the bill. The second we got our drinks the previously angry stressed out waitress told us they had to move us because they needed the table. There were empty tables all around us?! This place has really good egg rolls and lo mein. I also came here for their lunch special, and you cannot beat 2 maki rolls with soup and salad for $8 (if I remember correctly). This is our absolute favorite place to go for great sushi, Japanese and Chinese food. Where do I begin - everything here is delicious! Their king salmon sashimi melts in your mouth. My favorite sushi roll is the amazing roll - the name says it all! Their oysters are fresh and excellent. Their Chinese food is great as well. The pork ribs, fried rice, and egg rolls are our favorites but everything is very tasty. Service is friendly and fast. Tommy the bar tender is always very personable and attentive. Excellent sushi and Chinese food in the area by far. Jeff the owner / bartender is great and makes excellent drinks. My favorites are the crab Rangoon and the crispy pork. I really really want to love this place - but it's just okay. Some of the food is good but some isn't great and it can be hit or miss depending on the night. They deliver so that's a plus. Just wish the food was consistently good. For example, I LOVE dumplings but the ones at Wang's are subpar. They are tough, flavorless and their dipping sauce isn't the delicious tangy version that you'd find at a better restaurant. The pork fried rice is usually good but some of the other dishes are very "one note"- greasy and in a brown or white sauce. The Crab Rangoon are also flavorless and forgettable. There is no inventiveness on the menu, just the 1970's greasy Chinese you grew up on. How about some pan fried green beans, soup dumplings or inventive appetizers?! It's too bad as a burgeoning restaurant city that you still can't find high quality Chinese food out this way. Dumpling Daughter in Weston and Cambridge and Empire in Portland, ME are great examples of what Wang's could be. Time to step it up!! read more

Great little spot in the center of town. Within walking distance of home. I have never been disappointed with the food. Veggies so fresh and dishes are really colorful. We've had almost everything on the dinner menu and we keep exploring their dinner fare. We happened upon a traditional Chinese meal of sautéed tomatoes and scrambled eggs that is not on the menu. We saw Chinese exchange students eating this dish and they were really enjoying it. If they keep cooking with those fresh ingredients, Wang's Table will prosper. read more

I can only speak for take out service. I'm really surprised at the at poor reviews. The food was excellent, well prepared and fresh. We stared with the duck spring rolls which are similar to peaking duck pancakes but in spring roll form, these were freshly prepared with tender duck and a crispy outside. They were kind enough to make me spicy garlic noodles which is not on the mend- nicely stir fried noodles with a spicy garlic flavor and large pieces of garlic. They were simple and excellent. The fried rice had many different meats and veggies and you could tell that they use a wok set at a high temp all the food was well browned and caramelized. This is Chinese food in its Americanized form but when you want the generals chicken this is the place to go. read more

I don't understand the bad reviews but I guess everybody had different experiences. We have always been treated nice and never rushed. The sushi is some of the best around the area. I think the drinks could use more alcohol, but I say that about everyplace I go to. We got sushi delivered on a Friday night and the delivery was super fast. I took my friends out here the first weekend I moved into downtown Haverhill. I was recommended this place by friends because they said it was a good balance of food and drink. Drinkwise, the pitchers were very cheap and the cocktails were awesome (aka strong). The atmosphere was fun because I very seldom go to a Chinese food place that has a good size bar area. As for the food, it was pretty standard American Chinese food. It is a bit more pricey, but I think it evens out with the price of drinks. I'd give it a 4 for drinks and a 3 for food. But definitely a fun place to hang out if you are looking for a change of pace. read more
