This is the second time we've spent a week at the Celadon (back in 2018, and now 2021). Different…read moreunit this time. I try to review the resort, in general, and not the individual unit, as those are typically maintained by various owners. FWIW, the owner of our condo was very responsive and great to deal with. Working directly with him, we didn't have to worry about checking in with staff when we arrived, skipping some potential hassle.
So, back to the resort. Location, location, location. Celadon is located west of Pier Park. Quick note - if you're a big spring-break-type partier, stay closer to Pier Park. If you like a quiet, peaceful vacation, you'll want to get to one end of the beach or the other. Celadon is about as west as you can get without renting a beach house. While the beach is "busy", it's not horrible, and it's more family oriented.
Celadon has two pools - once on the side of the complex, and one across the street by the parking structure (accessible via air-conditioned skywalk). What I like is that it's the condo, then the beach - no pool area between your balcony and the beach, so you get less "pool noise" while you're enjoying the view.
The elevator situation was iffy all week. Three elevators service 22 floors. While we were there, I suspected - at various times - some elevators were out of service, so waits were longer. Move-in on Saturday was brutal (as it is at many resorts), so we just snuck a ride to our condo and did some beach time, returning later to unload the car after everyone had their turn.
So, what could make this place better? Well, it's hard to add elevators... but being realistic, maybe some more activities (though I see, via google maps, there seems to be a shuffleboard setup on the top level of the garage - not exactly ideal or easy to get to). A game room (pool, ping-pong, etc) would be nice for rainy days or for when you just had enough sun for a while. Also, maybe it's "post pandemic pricing", but I thought units were a bit overpriced.
We may return to Celadon. We love St. Andrews State Park, which is more than a half hour away (traffic), so we prefer to stay at the east end of the beach, but for peace and quiet, we can suck up the drive once in a while.
