Lucky Buddy Petcare - Jake looking so handsome

Lucky Buddy Petcare

(104 reviews)

We recently booked with Lucky Buddy Petcare for a vacation and am glad we gave them a chance!…read more We first met the owner Janet and loved her vibe. My main concern was our dogs not being comfortable with the rotation of different pet sitters, so I expressed that concern with Janet and figured out a plan to prepare our dogs. We ended up booking walks for our dogs to meet with the different sitters they may encounter during our vacation. Each walker/sitter we met was equally friendly and our three German shepherds had no issue with either one of them. We received reports after each visit, which we appreciated. What I do appreciate most about Lucky Buddy Petcare is that we're not dependent on one person's schedule while planning. The booking process is super easy through their website. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a pet sitting company!

I am grateful to have found Janet and her team to walk and stay overnight with my smart, loving and rambunctious Aussie, Jake. Jake loved his walks and especially enjoyed his time with Janet and Kathleen when they stayed with him when I went on my first trip in years because I would not board him. I told my friends I thought he was two-timing me because he was so happy and relaxed when I arrived home. I also had a dog walker come every day at Janet's suggestion while I was away and I truly appreciate the time and care these young women gave to Jake during that time and his regular walks. Sadly, Jake is no longer with me. He was only six years old but he had a medical condition that was lurking, unknown and undiagnosed until it suddenly appeared shattering my world. My first call was to my friend, a retired vet, who told me the likely diagnoses. My second call was to Janet who told me where the best ER animal hospital was located and provided additional emotional support. Janet continued to reach out and check to see if I was alright after I had to make a pet owner's most dreaded decision. She is not kidding in her business info when she says she will be there for you.

Midtown Mutts - Puppy Spirit in the ball pit

I brought my puppy here for socialization class and came back for their membership training…read moreclasses. Cassi and Lindsay have been great trainers and I have noticed a difference in our dogs. They use positive reinforcement for their training method. Midtown Mutts also offers dog walking, 1:1 sessions and pet sitting. My neighbor uses them for pet sitting and she loves them. You pay based on how many visits and the length of time you want them to stay. They take pictures everyday they visit to show you how your pet was that day. Pros: they have a membership and you can choose 1 or 5 classes a month. These classes don't roll over if you don't use them - I made the mistake of thinking they do. They have a calendar where it lists the classes, time and topic. The calendar is a bit clunky and confusing so it takes a bit to figure out how to navigate. If they don't have too many people sign up and you need help in a certain area, they accommodate your request. They have answered my numerous questions and been very patient. I can say my puppy REALLY enjoyed class because he was showered with treats also as a lab, he never turns food down! Cons: if there is a large class and the gym in the same business structure is busy, parking can be a bit hard to find.

The Pet Nanny - Drew and Masudi

The Pet Nanny

Drew has been such an amazing cat caregiver for my crew of fuzzballs for the past several years…read morethat I've decided I can never move out of the area. If you're looking for someone with a genuine love of and connection to cats, who is very experienced with cat behavior and health issues, and who is supremely trustworthy and reliable - look no further than Drew. Before I met Drew I spent so much time on Yelp contacting other pet sitters in the area and they all seemed like they were mostly dog-oriented and just tolerated cats and would be only dropping by to make sure my cats were alive. Then I contacted Drew and I knew right away she was special - she actually adores cats and her primary concern is getting to know your cats' individual needs and quirks and providing the best comprehensive care possible while putting your mind at ease with daily checks-ins and photos. (She also owns a photography business and you can hire her for an epic pet photo session!) Drew regularly takes care of my guys, whether I'm busy for one day or away for a longer trip. Under anyone else's care, I'd worry about their individual dietary and behavioral needs - I have a picky older cat with anxiety and urinary issues, a goofy black cat with a sensitive tummy and a history of eating inedible objects and getting the occasional ear infection, and a young, spunky one-eyed cat who once had an injured leg. Not only has Drew gotten to know each of their personalities and connected with them like they're her own pets (they greet her at the door), she has expertly attended to their occasional extra needs and has on multiple occasions taken the time to talk me through my concerns about their issues. In addition to being a cat owner herself, Drew has experience working at clinics and rescues and volunteers her time at a cat sanctuary so I thoroughly trust her input and consider her a valued care companion and part of our pet family. My cats (and I) absolutely adore Drew and there's just no better feeling when you're away than total peace of mind that your fur family is receiving the best possible care. 5 stars, 10/10. Thank you, Drew!

He's only about 3 months old now, so doggy daycare isn't an option. Luckily, we met Rick from East Sac Pet Pals and figured he might be able to help. It was super easy to set up an free consultation at our house. They're truly a local company, exclusively serving the McKinley Park and the Fab Forties areas. Rick drove up on his scooter wearing the Pet Pals "uniform" (a Pet Pals t-shirt) and after talking with him a while, we could tell that he and his wife, Debby, are in this business because of a true love for pets. He told us about the different services they offer, we signed the contract and handed over a spare key, then he came over and walked Nigel the very next day. When we got home that night, a report of how Nigel's day went was sitting on the table. East Sac Pet Pals isn't just for dog walking. They will also pet/house-sit if you're gone for stretches at a time. So if you live in this area and are looking for a dependable, honest, and down-to-earth pet pal, Rick and Debby are the ones to call.

If someone states MY DOG DOSNT LIke HER FEET TOUCHED - let that mean : their dog doesn't like their feet touched. 3. If there is no reason to suspect the dog is aggressive because the answer to their first question is YES then don't ask..is the dog aggressive ? Try, what happens? How does the dog protest ? I'd then - FOR EXAMPLE respond with- like how I stated- " she tries to scurry /run away and whines - so she has to be held and brought in, why are you asking me if she's aggressive. I see the staff has changed - A LOT- it's not welcoming AT ALL- LIKE AT ALL - Brenda got her nails clipped TODAY but y'all come off unprofessional, way too immature and side on PREJUDICE - prejudice of ppl and dogs. I also do NOT care if a groomer is pregnant or not. And? Then don't come to work /get a new job- don't make that my problem or business. Cuz that means you're asking EACH AND EVERY PERSON who brings in ANY DOG for grooming THATS BEEN THERE BEFORE " is the dog aggressive ." Pretty sure you're not asking EACH AND EVERYONE that- I wasn't asked yesterday.... YESTERDAY when I went in and spoke to at least two of the not so welcoming ppl at the counter today- and emailed her up to date shot records. As I stood there I did it so indent walk off and forget. Ummmm where was a concern then? Shoulda, coulda been asked yesterday when I stated- my girl doesn't let me cut her nails. So I bring her here - I was in there for a good chunk of time - only concern was is rabies 1 year or 3 years - has she been there before... Whatever you gotta do to learn how to speak to ppl- ask questions and handle scared dogs- do that. Practice in the mirror IDK IDC- but there was ample opportunity to ask me when I stated it yesterday- today you saw Brenda and asked- if she was aggressive. That's PREJUDICE. Her profile should answer concerns of her temperament. Brendas nails grow so fast- and nails were so long it was dyer they be cut. So I gambled and let it happen because a more friendly female carried her back. So it seems ok and it was- but now I have the ICK I'll take her somewhere else. Even though it's 2 blocks from our place and we been coming here for years. We can go elsewhere. Go ahead and delete our profile.

I was aware that my dog had a hotspot on her front leg prior to the appointment, but she has never had a hotspot near her butt before. The owner noted after my initial review that this red irritation could be from an anti-fungal shampoo she used, which I did appreciate honesty about. While it's possible this could be food-related, my experience with other groomers has never resulted in an issue like this. We also brought in our other dog, an Aussie, for grooming on the same day and were very happy with her service. However, given my experience with my retriever mix, I will be taking her elsewhere in the future. I found the professionalism in the owner's texts to me after my initial review aggressive, and this is further leaving me with no desire to return. Initial review prior to revisions: I have a retriever mix that I shave down in the spring. I'm assuming the shaver was hot and it burned my dogs skin. Allie was curious as to whether this was a hotspot from her food. While yes, I do feed my dog the purina pro plan chicken and rice, that is the food our vet recommended she go on. Never once has she had a spot like this on her butt. My bf picked her up so I wasn't there to advocate. I feel bad when my pup came home with this raw spot. I put some hydrocortisone lotion on it and it healed in a day. My pup has never came back from the groomers with open wounds so unfortunately, I won't bring my dog back here. I will take her to pet smart where I can watch the groom from the window. I would've really loved a "it's possible it's food but I may have also nicked her skin." Our other dog went in at the same time and she looks great!!! I just care about this pup so much it broke my heart to see this spot
