Pro: clean office, friendly staff, easy to make appointment
Con: unethical way in doing business, long wait for appointment, unprofessional
I really want to share my story with everyone even though my story is quite long, and hopefully people could stay away from this dentist.
I started to have a toothache by the end of Jan this year, and I found this dentist has an office close to where I live. So I was thinking I should give him a try. On the first visit, he determined that I needed a root canal treatment, and deep clean. So I gave them my insurance information and everything they needed. Their staff called me after a few days and told me that my insurance approved the root canal and deep clean. So I had my second visit and my root canal treatment couple days after I had received the call. I thought everything was going fine and I could get rid of my toothache. But I was wrong. My other tooth next to the molar that had RCT started being painful, and it was getting loose as well. I couldn't hold onto that and I finally emailed this dentist again after a month of my second visit. So I went in for the third visit. He told me my other tooth was having a lot of pressure since he had polished my molar due to RCT. After a week of time, last weekend, I had my 4th visit for the crown and my loosen tooth. All a sudden he told me my tooth loose was because of gum disease, and it was nothing to do with the RCT. And I should have the deep clean right away. I felt it was okay because I agreed them to claim my insurance for the deep clean as well. So he did a deep clean on my left side of teeth. Then I left and made the final appointment for putting my real crown on. The staff all a sudden told me that my ins. allowance for 2011 was all gone. If I wanted my right side of deep clean, I would have to pay them first. Then they will refund me the money after they filed the claim from insurance company in 2012. I didn't say anything and just left. And I came up these questions in my mind after these visits:
1. If my other tooth got loose because of gum disease instead of something wrong with the RCT, why this dentist "fixed" my other tooth instead of telling me that I had gum disease?
2. If my insurance only cover me half of the deep clean, why the staff not letting me know when she called or during the 2nd, 3rd visit, but told me right after I had my half deep clean done?
You might come up with different answers than I do towards my questions, but from what I have experienced, it's more than enough I will stop going to see this dentist ever again after my crown is put on. read more
