When I needed physical therapy I asked my doctor to send the referral to A and hearddidnt get a call so nearly 2 weeks after the referral was sent, I called. I called after hiurs expecting a voicemail when a woman answered, HELLO? Co fused, i asked if I had the wrong number. She casually said, nope. I explained myself and she said she'd call me the next day. Over a week went by and no call. So I called over the weekend and left a message asking g for a call back first thing Monday to let me know why they hadn't called and if they just didn't want my business. By noon they still hadn't called, so I asked my doctor to send the referral elsewhere. 3:45pm rolls around aand I get a call. It's the same woman, I assume the new owner. Sbe identified herself and I said yes. She then said, do you even want to talk to me? I was surprised, expecting an apology and an expla action. Since she offered none, I told her I had found someone else. Without a beat, apology or any concern st all, she said OK and hung up. That is just not how you do business ess if you intend to maintain a client base and a good reputation. There are a lot of physical therapists in Nevada County. This is one I wont even consider in the future.

I had a work-related accident in 2022 that led to three surgeries and years of physical therapy…read more For the past four years, I was shuffled between many physical therapists--some were adequate, others were pretty good--but none compared to the exceptional care I received at Radius Physical & Sports Rehab. In other PT clinics, I was assigned a single specialist. At Radius, I had an entire exceptional crew. They were kind, courteous, knowledgeable, personable yet professional, and incredibly competent. The business model is excellent: you're first assigned a chiropractic doctor who oversees your care and does a body-mind-spirit check-in at every visit. In my case, that was Dr. Austin Van Poole--a highly trained, knowledgeable, and deeply intuitive Doctor of Chiropractic with truly magic hands and a gentle, inquisitive nature. After a hands-on assessment in his office, he would take me out to the floor and hand me off to Eric and Nick, a couple of fun-loving health enthusiasts you can't help but like (and even admire). The three of them would have a quick discussion about my progress, and Dr. Van Poole would direct them on whether to focus on stretching, strengthening, or soothing, depending on where I was in my recovery. These guys are hands-on in the trenches--pushing you when you need it and giving you hope when you've lost it. Even the receptionist doubles as a cheerleader. You really couldn't be in better hands. When I first arrived at Radius, right after my third surgery, I was a mess: in constant pain, with severely limited range of motion and a miserable attitude. The road to recovery was long, with days of despair where I thought I'd never feel whole again. But where others had fallen short, this team guided me through the hardest parts and brought me back far beyond what I had hoped for. Yesterday was my last day, and I have to admit--I'm already missing those guys. Two stretched-and-strengthened, limber thumbs up for this awesome team!

I've been in pain since June with a partial rotator cuff tear... and pain is a a huge motivator to…read morefind someone that can help you! My experience was that my primary provider was unable to give me tools or treatments that would actually heal me... Medication will suppress the pain receptors... And they worked well to numb me out... But did nothing to heal the actual injury. Due to nerve dysfunction caused from right rotator cuff surgery from another doctor in September 2024 I am not willing to undergo any surgical interventions for my left shoulder. Luckily, I found a practitioner in line with what my desires are and I found him right in my backyard in Grass Valley, California. Dr. Joel Richnak at Mountain View Rehabilitation is a godsend!. My appointment started with a very thorough history... He showed me my x-ray report and the actual x-ray from Sutter, which was never shown to me before and told me what he saw... This was followed by an ultrasound, which showed a partial tear of the supraspinatus tendon. Which was what I thought... His recommended one treatment of PRP injections (20 tubes worth OMG) and physical therapy with other modalities that his practice offers. He said typically only one treatment is needed... With the end result being in 4 to 6 months. Since I am still recovering from the nerve dysfunction caused from my right rotator cuff surgery after over a year I am learning patience, lol and I am in it for the long game! Dr. Rick is compassionate, number one... But also thorough and an expert in his field, which was very important to me with my background in critical care nursing at Sutter Roseville Medical Center. I am leaving my appointment with a sense of Hope and I haven't felt that in a long time... I promised him I would be a good patient... Since nurses sometimes aren't lol but I want to live my best life now that we have 12 beautiful acres in our new home or Grass Valley, California. Our community here is amazing and I hope to pay it forward so to speak and educate people on what my experience has been. If you struggle with muscle or tendon pain or dysfunction, this is a place to come! Highly recommend!

This is the first place I can actually say that I leave feeling much better than I did when I walked in. I have been an endurance athlete who really pushed, and messed up my body. Then I developed Psoriatic Arthritis (an autoimmune disease), and had also experienced several fractures over the years doing stupid things. I secretly thought I was the king of pain for a while, and that pain was just something I was going to have to live with. UC Davis did some wonderful procedures that helped with the pain, but still it persisted. Until now. Frank is a professional to beat all professionals, in my book. He knows his stuff, and I know he does. I'm a former I.S.S.A. personal trainer, and licensed veterinary technician, as well as former mortician. My point with that mini resume is that with all those occupations, I had to study human anatomy, kinesiology, and biology and often I have known more about the human body than some of these so called pros in other physical therapy establishments. I know how to help myself, and what muscles, and processes are involved in my injuries in a lot of instances, but when I don't, Frank does! I felt so good after a few sessions, that my goal of being able to be steady, and in shape enough to start working out again was met, and Frank said I was free to do so, but start out very slow. But I felt so good, I didn't follow his advice, and just started running after a decade of not. I ran five miles! Two days later I did it again! Next week, same deal. I ran 20 miles in two weeks after being sedentary from illness and injury for a decade! How cool is that? Except, the uncool part, is that I didn't follow Frank's advice, and did not start out slow -- I went from zero to sixty in a day-- so I developed shin splints. It was such a painful condition, it sent me to the E.R. Three steps forward and two steps back. That's where I was. So back to Frank I go, and I was limping when I did. He performed some excellent manipulation, and did some myofascia releasing, massage, and kinetic tapping, and guidance in exercises to stabilize and improve mobility, and to ease pain. This morning I limped into the office, and today I walked out like a healthy 25 year old. (I'm 59). I am incredibly happy with the results. Frank rocks like no physical therapist has rocked before. I cannot recommend this physicality, and especially the work of Frank, enough. You owe it to yourself or loved one to get the very best, and the very best is Frank at Burger Physical Therapy.
