In other PT clinics, I was assigned a single specialist. At Radius, I had an entire exceptional crew. They were kind, courteous, knowledgeable, personable yet professional, and incredibly competent. The business model is excellent: you're first assigned a chiropractic doctor who oversees your care and does a body-mind-spirit check-in at every visit. In my case, that was Dr. Austin Van Poole--a highly trained, knowledgeable, and deeply intuitive Doctor of Chiropractic with truly magic hands and a gentle, inquisitive nature. After a hands-on assessment in his office, he would take me out to the floor and hand me off to Eric and Nick, a couple of fun-loving health enthusiasts you can't help but like (and even admire). The three of them would have a quick discussion about my progress, and Dr. Van Poole would direct them on whether to focus on stretching, strengthening, or soothing, depending on where I was in my recovery. These guys are hands-on in the trenches--pushing you when you need it and giving you hope when you've lost it. Even the receptionist doubles as a cheerleader. You really couldn't be in better hands. When I first arrived at Radius, right after my third surgery, I was a mess: in constant pain, with severely limited range of motion and a miserable attitude. The road to recovery was long, with days of despair where I thought I'd never feel whole again. But where others had fallen short, this team guided me through the hardest parts and brought me back far beyond what I had hoped for. Yesterday was my last day, and I have to admit--I'm already missing those guys. Two stretched-and-strengthened, limber thumbs up for this awesome team!

After over $1,000.00 in treatment over a four month period (from Dec. 2011-April 2012) I was…read moreshocked and irritated that Dr. McCririe's policy is to charge another $50.00 re-exam fee (in addition to the regular $55.00 fee) when I had not gone in for a period of less than three monthes (from April 12 to July 2)! I have gone to various chiropractors over a 30 year period so am no stranger to chiropractic. If he had actually DONE a thorough re-exam any differently than my normal 12 minutes I would not be so in question of this. Instead, I sat in the adjustment chair listening to him complain about his neighbors unhappiness with him about his lack of code compliance in his neighborhood. To make matters worse, when questioning this fee upon leaving the office, the rather cold and unfriendly secretary didn't suggest anything except for me to cancel my next appointment. That's not keeping the patient's best interest in mind at all. I then wrote an email to the office asking for the doctor to call and explain why the fee? I felt it unreasonable. No answer. Maybe the secretary (Merly) was intercepting the emails. So I wrote a physical note that was handed to the doctor. Still no acknowledgement or response. Again, I wrote one more email just wanting some clarification. Still no reply. This is horrible patient care. As far as the actual treatments go, Dr. McCririe chooses to employ a machine called the Pro-Adjuster. It is very 'hands-off' type of treatment in the sense that he doesn't do typical manipulation of the spine (in fact you practically have to beg him to touch and test your spine in a traditional way). The machine reads into a computer what misalignments there are in the spine. I actually found it to be OK in relieving tension, though obviously very temporary. Thus, the question arises again, what reexam did he do that warrants extra charges? When I disputed the charges to VISA, Merly wrote some long-winded letter about how they had explained it to me. NOT! The $50.00 of money is now not as important as the fact that they really don't seem to care about responsible and honest communication. I'll be looking for another chiropractor with more integrity.

At the first exam and meeting I understood that the pain is really a result of many years of unawareness of postures and so on and with his help, it could change... And it did! His techniques are precise and gentle, he reflects on your overall condition and...he cares! I recommended Dr Jim to all my friends in pain! And I am seeing some life changing going on for them too!
