I asked to remove the hard insole, not completely render the shoe unwearable. As you can see in the picture, the soft part was also removed as well. When I walk with the shoe (after inserting the store provided insole and my own custom orthotics), the shoe felt more unstable. In fact, the front part of my foot rocks whenever I move. Not good. Also, similar to another review, the repair person asked for payment upfront, and this is after he started to tear off the insole without my permission, despite me asking about the price multiple times before he did so (those went unanswered, until after he made alittle damage to the insole). Very shady, and put me in the situation to go ahead with the repair (I was in a time crunch as well). Two stars because the repair person said to come back if it doesn't feel comfortable. Unfortunately, I don't think this shoe can be saved anymore. read more

I paid $24 I took before and after pics bc I was excited to see how well of a job this place would do but I'm definitely dissatisfied and disappointed at the craftsmanship. I have had good experiences here - I brought loafers to have the soles reglued, which he did nicely and he also shined them as a courtesy, they looked almost new when he was done. Recently, my daughter and I brought him her purse to be restitched and my boots (damaged by rain) to be resoled...the price was a little high but both things came out beautifully. Had my LV purse "repaired" here. Owner said they could repair the piping, fix the curve of the pockets, clean the inside of the bag....for $499. When I picked it up, it looks like they just removed the piping and stitched flat leather as piping. And they claim to have attempted to fix the curve of the pockets but could not. They also claim to have cleaned the inside of the purse but they didn't and they even added more stains...I only realized this when I arrived at home and should have checked the inside at the shop when Ipicked it up. They kept the entire $499 and accepted the extra $20 tip knowing full well they didn't perform the work they charged me for. But it's my fault for trusting this shop and tried to support small businesses when I should have just spent the money to have the repairs performed by LV. read more

I brought in my leather boots to replace the heels that were worn down. I was told on a Friday would be done by Wednesday. I came back on Wednesday, and it was not done. The front shop guy didn't remember what I brought it the boots for! He claimed he was sick and didn't finish it and told me to come back on Thursday. Thursday came and its not done! My boots are over 5 years old and the heels wore off. I just wanted to glue what little was left so I could wear them to a meeting in 40 minutes. l found Walnut Shoe Repair and decided to pass by and just ask for glue. Luis was very professional and told me he could fix the heels at that moment. I told him I had to be somewhere in 40 minutes. He assured me it would only take 15 minutes for both heels. He offered to polish my faded boots too but I declined. 15 minutes later Luis replaced my heels, polished my boots, tended to customers and answered phone calls. My boots looked brand new. The store hours said they closed at 6pm I asked about the time and the worker/owner told me he would close late so he could finish my boots.
