We ended up parking on the street up the hill near some residential homes, but don't let that deter you. One of the coolest parts was being able to watch the doughnuts being made right in front of us. There was a line when we arrived, and we waited about 15 minutes to order and another 10 minutes or so for our doughnuts. Even with the wait, I'd do it all over again. The doughnuts were incredibly fresh, warm, light, and fluffy. Every flavor we tried was delicious, but the vanilla glazed and the toasted almond sesame cinnamon were my favorite. We bought three turnovers: blueberry, lemon & peach. Each one was better than the previous. The crust was flaky and buttery. The filling was made from scratch (not pie-filling). I am usually extremely disappointed in lemon and blueberry-flavored desserts as they taste fake. These were quite the opposite ! I can't say enough great things about it! We also had an eclair and chocolate-dipped shortbread cookies which were also made with BUTTER, not the lard or shortening that most other bakeries use these days.
